22|"You Will Not Be Easily Forgiven."

<Soda's POV>

I wake and stare at my beautiful wife who is still fast asleep next to me. Her hair drapes over her forehead in kinky dirty blonde waves. The hair comes from her head that is filled with years worth of memories. All these years of laughter and walking around Tulsa laughing and having her help us teach Ponyboy everything he needed to know after our parents died, the tears she stopped when I knew my parents would never come back, all those days of hanging around with Steve, and the feeling of love I always knew I had for her from the beginning, even if I didn't admit it.

I remember her that day I first met her. She was dressed in jeans, converse and a leather jacket that was way to big. Her brows were drawn in total confusion and tears were filling her eyes and dropping from her cheeks as she leaned up against fence of a house. I approached her slowly and asked her what was wrong. The first thing she did was pull a blade on me. She pointed it at my chin and I backed up a bit.

"I'm not afraid to use it," she claimed angrily.

"I just wanted to know if I could help you," I repeated. She looked at me for a while and I didn't hesitate to stare right back into her beautiful blue eyes that had tiny specks in them. After what seemed like forever she put the blade back in her pocket and visibly relaxed.

"I need to find my brother, we just moved here and I don't know where I'm going," she had said clearly upset. I nodded my head and asked where he had said he would be. "Some place called the DX," she said. I smiled at her.

"Good news, your close, my buddy and I hang around there, we want to work there after we graduate high school, if I make it that far, anyways follow me," I rambled. I led her to the DX and Dally was waiting for her there. She ran into her big brothers arms and told her that I had helped her find her way. For a moment he glared at me then shook my hand and mumbled a see you later. I watched as they walked away and I never even learned her name until she showed up at the DX two days later when Steve and I were there. We started to buddy around then one day brought Dally and Chris back to my house to meet my parents. Chris seemed timid of my dad, but soon she relaxed. From then on they met the gang and we've been real close ever since.

I think of my dad now. I wonder if he's proud of my getting married. He would be I think. His face would be stretched in a smile and he'd be giving me a huge pat on the back. A tear escapes my eye, but I quickly wipe it away. Its a good thing to because Chris is now opening her eyes, revealing a beautiful shimmering blue.

We stare at each others eyes then burst out laughing. Chris's eyes are watering she's laughing so hard. I take her hand and squeeze it. "We actually did it!" She yells stupidly.

"Well no shit!" I say back still laughing. I pull her into a hug and we giggle quietly together.

"I don't want to get out of this bed," Chris says, her voice muffled my my chest.

"Why is that?" I ask smirking.

"Because then I'll have to face your brothers," she says. I laugh a little.

"Aw shoot they'll get over the awkwardness," I claim. She nods her head and we get out of bed and get dressed. We make our way downstairs and while I hit the couch Chris heads to the kitchen and places a pan on the stove that is now on erupting blue flames. I cock an eyebrow.

"What are you doing?"

"Making breakfast," she says innocently.

"Isn't that Darry's job?" I ask. Chris shrugs her shoulders.

"It's the least I can do since I'm invading your home," she says giggling.

"Your not invading," I protest.

"I am a little bit."

"Ya a little, keep cooking Mrs. Curtis," I say. When she is done cooking, my brothers walk downstairs. Chris has already set the table and plopped three fluffy pancakes on our plates.

<Chris's POV>

"Oh I like this treatment," Darry says smiling. I kiss his cheek and pour coffee in his mug. "I really like this treatment," he says. I smile and then hand Pony a fork and knife.

"Thanks Chris," he mumbles. I nod my head in response then sit next to Soda. We eat with mutual conversation about work and even go through the subject of Soda leaving which is when I take Pony's hand and give it a reassuring squeeze because he was looking really down. In the middle of breakfast the door flings open and in comes someone with jet black hair. Skyler runs past us into the bathroom and throws up in the toilet. Once she flushes she comes back over to us.

"Sorry about that, that's twice this morning anyways, I just thought I would tell you that Dallas is in the cooler for shop lifting and he'll probably be in for about a week," Skyler explains talking really fast.

"Only a week?" Pony asks.

"Must be because the cops down there know him so well that they know it's no use to keep him locked up," Skyler explains.

"Okay thanks for telling me, but are you okay, you've been throwing up a lot lately," I ask. Skyler nods her head.

"It's probably just a virus," Skyler claims. I stand up and lead her into a hallway where the boys can't hear us. We speak in hushed tones.

"Virus's don't just make you throw up in the morning, you were supposed to get your period this week, have you?" I ask. Her face becomes pale and her hands shake.

"Well, no but I'm not... I can't be," she says.

<Skyler's POV>

"Well, no but I'm not... I can't be," I say. Chris hands me five dollars. "What's this for?" I ask while taking the money from her hands.

"Go to a pharmacy Skyler, and I mean it, you need to know," Chris tells me. I shake even more and then sprint out of the house, not taking a second glance. I run to the thicker part of town and find a pharmacy. Slowing my pace, I walk inside slowly. I walk directly to that section and pick up the first box I find. Like a mindless drone I purchase the tests and then go back to Dally's house. The only thing I think of is this can't be happening. Dally is going hate me. He'll despise my very name. When I make it to Dally's I rush inside and slam the bathroom door shut. I pull down my pants then sit and pee on the stick. When I'm done I place it on the toilet seat and wait a not so calm few minutes. Then with shaky hands and a heavy heart I pick up the stick. I don't see it at first, but when I do I throw the stick with a plus sign on it on the ground. I take my fists and bang on the bathroom mirror with angry tears flowing down my cheeks. The mirror shatters and shards fly every where including the floor and my hands. I slide down the bathroom wall screaming bloody murder. My hand grasps the largest shard of glass I can find and I swiftly slide the shards up my arm in slow angry strokes. My hair falls in my face and into the blood on my arm. It's not enough, the adrenaline is still pumping through my veins. Taking the glass, I slide it down each of my legs till my body seems physically unable to cut anymore, but with my last labored breath I cut one last time on my cheek then my vision goes black and my hand falls to my side.

<Chris's POV>

I walk into the police station and vow not to tell Dallas that Skyler may be pregnant. I ask to see Dallas Winston and as I walk to the back room divided by a glass wall I feel the lump of money in my pocket, I brought just in case I need to bail Dally out. I sit down in the chair and cross my legs as a cop brings Dally in on the other side of the glass. He smiles sadly.

"Hi Chrissy," he says.

"You will not be easily forgiven," I tell him sternly.

"I know I'm sorry sweeti-"

"Don't," I say cutting him off.

"Look I know what I did was wrong I just needed to blo-" he starts, but is cut off my a police officer calling my name. I walk from Dally and the girl hands me a phone.

"Hello?"

"Chris!" Soda's voice yells. "Look I know your talking to Dally, but it's Skyler, Steve and I came to Dally's house to get your stuff and move it to mine, but when we went in the bathroom Skyler was sitting in her own pool of blood, and Chris... there was a positive pregnancy test, but I threw it in the garbage," Soda explains. I freeze.

"Where are you Soda?" I ask frantically and look back at Dally warily.

"The hospital, you gotta come and I think you need to bring Dally, he needs to know," Soda explains. I say okay then hang up and hand the officer the bail money for Dallas. They hand Dally his possessions then walk him over to me.

"Thank you," he says completely unaware.

"Save it Winston, we have to get to the hospital, it's Skyler, she-" before I could finish Dally runs out of the station and doesn't stop running in the direction of the hospital. I soon follow close behind.

<Dallas's POV>

At Skyler's name I run in the direction of the hospital. Sweat pours off of me and a few people walking curse at me to slow down, but ignore them for I have only one thing on my mind. She's done it again. She's hurt herself.

"Dally wait up, there is something else!" Chris screams, but I ignore her and keep running. We make it to the hospital and ask for Skyler's room. The nurse leads us there and then makes us wait outside the room because she is being patched up and cleaned.

I wait impatiently and watch Chris hug Soda and Steve.

<Chris's POV>

"She's lucky you guys were there," I tell my friends.

"Chris it was so bad, if I didn't see her face I wouldn't of known it was her because there was so much blood, her body is covered," Steve explains solemnly.

"What do we do about the pregnancy thing?" Soda asks.

"Do not tell anyone, if Skyler wants someone to know she'll tell them herself," I inform them. "I mean it you guys, you can't say a word no matter what okay?" They nod their heads. "What did you do with the test?" I ask.

"Threw it away cause it had blood on it," Steve says. I nod my head and tell them good or else Dally would see it when he goes home and I don't know if Skyler is telling him. I turn and see my big brother pacing the halls with his fists clenched in tight balls. After about ten more minutes the rest of the gang has arrived and we are all, including Dally, sitting in the chairs, waiting restlessly for the doctors to say we may see her now. A nurse comes out of the room and asks for and family member.

"She has no family, just us," Dally mumbles angrily at the woman.

"Well who can I ask to fill out some forms," the nurse asks. We all point to Dally and the nurse hands him a clip board and a pen. He looks at the forms and starts to fill out the papers, but when a doctor comes out of the room and says visitors are aloud Dally throws the board and pen aside and runs into the room. Everyone else starts to follow, but I demand they sit down and wait. I grab the clip board and fill out what I know then place it on the seat next to me and rest my head on Soda's shoulder.

After I think Dally's had enough time, I send Johnny in to make sure he's okay. Dally has always adored Johnny. He walks into the room slowly.

<Dallas's POV>

I throw the clipboard aside and run into Skyler's room. When I see her I stop walking. Both of her forearms are patched up along with her legs and a cut on her cheek.

"Oh Skyler Elizabeth... what have you done?" I ask her unconscious form. Eventually I sit next to her and imagine her smiling and happy. My thoughts however are interrupted when a door opens and closes and is followed by a gasp. I whip my head around and see Johnny standing at the end of the bed shaking.

"Hey Johnnycake," I mumble and force a smile.

"Is- is she okay?" He asks slowly.

"I dunno Johnny," is my answer, and it's true. Even when Skyler heals I don't know if she'll be okay. This is the worst I've seen. When she heals I don't know if she'll be okay mentally. Johnny pulls up a chair next to me and sits by my side. Then Pony comes in and asks if Johnny wants to go to the cafeteria to get some food. Pony tries desperately to not look at Skyler and when Johnny nods his head and gets up Pony is relieved to exit the room.

<Skyler's POV>

I wake up in a swelling bubble of pain. When I look out the window I see black skies. Damnit, I'm still breathing. I'm still living in the hell hole we call earth. When I look to my right I see Dallas sleeping in an uncomfortable chair.

Dallas.

The father of the baby that is growing inside me. Do I tell him? No. Do I get rid of it? No. Do I give it up for adoption? Maybe. Do I run? Yes.

I start to get out of the bed slowly, but Dallas grabs my wrist. When I look back I see Dallas with wide tear filled eyes. I turn and sit on the edge of the bed facing him.

"Dallas," I say quietly.

"Why the hell did you do it this time?" He asks me angry with a voice crack that indicates that Dallas is sad.

"I can't tell you, you'd hate me," I explain.

"I'll hate you if you don't tell me so spill," Dallas demands. I stay silent. "My sister bails me out with her own money, which we don't have a lot of by the way, just so I could see you, then I sit here all day waiting for you to wake up, and now you want even talk to me!" He yells.

"Did you forget the part where you beat me up and stole to get in jail," I say raising my eyebrows. "You already hate me," I mumble.

"Ya, I do!" Dallas yells his face hard. Tears threaten to fall and I stand up, but when I try to run around to grab my clothes my cut legs give out and I almost hit the ground, but Dallas catches me. This situation seems all to familiar. It's the same as the night in the Curtis living room when I had been beat up by the Socs and when I tried to leave the house I fell because of a knife wound in my leg. Dally caught me then to. Because of the familiarity I push Dally's arms off of me and fall to the ground in a heap of tears and yelps of pain. "Skyler Elizabeth, I didn't mean what I said before," Dally claims sitting next to my body and trying to get me back on the bed. When I'm sitting on the bed I demand Dally to get my clothes. He places them beside me and I stare at them seeing they are still covered in blood. Dally turns away as I get dressed. Then I finally have enough strength to make my way out of the hospital. I walk past Dally who keeps trying to stop me. I just keep walking through his protests. Right out of the hospital. I don't go somewhere familiar like the Curtis' or Dally's or the lot, I walk, then run straight to the train station with Dally screaming behind me. For a moment I stop and look at Dallas who has also stopped. That is the only moment I hesitate before running again. When I get on I don't get off for quite a long time.

A/N This chapter is literally why I started writing this book. I had thought of this situation and was like hell ya let's write a story based on this one tragic event! I think we've come a long way😂
