2~ Striking the Demon Down
You woke up on the same bed of flowers, as if the world had reset itself. The only difference was that you retained your memories and the golden necklace you wore remained. There was no screaming this time though, maybe you were early enough to save the monsters there.
The ruins were completely empty once more, and there was no one in the snowy environment either. Maybe you were too late. You kept running, all the way to a slightly warmer place, with waterfalls and rivers of a glowing blue. You summoned your dagger in case there was a need to defend yourself before running onward. You once again willed yourself to teleport and ended up in a golden hallway, almost falling on your face again, but someone caught you. You looked up at whoever saved you from the embarrassing oblivion of falling on your face, Sans. Something was different about him, he wore a red scarf and he seemed as if he was scared.
"Why are you here? I thought you were..." he trailed off. So Sans remembered your death in the last timeline.
"So can you tell me what the hell's going on here?" You asked.
Sans told you everything, how Frisk, the human, had killed everyone here multiple times, how him, Frisk, you apparently, and Flowey were the only ones who remembered. You heard footsteps outside the hallway, and Sans got up, telling you to hide. You nodded and hid behind a pillar.
Sans eventually got tired, and fell asleep. Frisk took this chance to attack. The next few seconds, time seemed to slow. You remembered everything, every monster Frisk had killed, all their names, time spent together, and you remembered you had started to develop feelings for Sans. The pendant of your necklace glowed a bright gold, and your soul became more powerful. You jumped in the way of Frisk and Sans, attacking the genocidal human. They took everything from you, you couldn't let that go.
Sans woke up and helped. You tried to manage all the powers of your soul, stringing purple webs around the hall, summoning your dagger, running along the webs, and finally getting the last hit on Frisk. They collapsed to the ground. You desummoned all your weapons, and so did Sans.
"When the world resets again, I'm going to make sure you guys get out of here this time." You said determinedly. Sans smiled and you saw he was dying. A gash bled across his chest as he sank to the ground...
The flowers bloomed anew, just like they always would in this endless loop of suffering. Sans turned to dust in front of your eyes, leaving only his jacket. You put the jacket on and sat in the empty hall, waiting for the world to reset in due time just like it should.
In the time before the world reset, you had time to think about the world before Frisk's genocide. Hanging out at the library with Sans, cooking spaghetti with Papyrus, training with Undyne, watching anime with Alphys, and dancing with Mettaton.
In that time, you remembered an old song Toriel used to sing to you.
He said: oh Mary, contrary, how does your garden grow?
Come with me and you'll be the seventh maid in a row
My answer was laughter, soft as I lowered my head
You're too late, I'm afraid
Cette fleur déjà se fane...
She said the song came from a universe not far from their own, where everyone was meaner, but a kind soul saved them all. Since you fell to the Underground when you were only 3 years old, she sang that song every night as a lullaby.
Only after that did the world finally reset...
