The King
Roseanna's (Anna's) pov
"Okay, so let's get to planning."
Rose looked at me and said.
"Okay, well where do we even start? Mom told me to tell you that it would be at the end of the sunset on the last day of the month.
It took me three days to travel here, and it's already the 16th of the month. We don't have much time.
Father shouldn't know that I left yet. If he does though, I don't think he'll be very happy.
So I have to go back tonight.
I'm sorry that I can't stay longer."
I said, my heart a little broken that I have to leave my sister to soon.
"Alright then, I guess.
I can't believe I have a sister!"
Rose wrapped her arms around me and hugged me tight.
I smiled and hugged her back.
Sadly, I had to get going soon so her and I, after the hug went down to the guards tower to form a plan.
Jayden's pov
Guard duty, guard duty.
You know if it weren't for the fact that she called me future king, I probably would've put up a fight.
I didn't want to baby sit her dad, but nonetheless, maybe if I keep him safe she'll have more gratitude towards me.
Oh, who am I kidding?
I already know that if Jack ends up saving her mother, that no matter what I did to protect her father, she has missed her mother for years.
I grumbled while I talked to myself in a low tone.
That's when I looked up and saw Jack speaking with the king.
"Sir, I can't tell you why yet, but I'm going to take your daughter out on a little trip to my kingdom.
I would just like to give her a new scenery so she can possibly relax and calm down from all the drama that has been going on lately.
I promise you sir, I will let no harm come her way.
Also, she has chosen a prince to marry."
I saw the king pondering on thoughts whole he spoke until the last sentence was said.
"She's going to marry you?!
Ha!
I always thought it would've been the blonde boy.
She has a thing for the piano, you know."
Jack smiled.
"I do know that sir, but she hasn't chosen me.
She'd like to marry Jay-"
His words were then cut off by none other than myself.
"Me, your highness.
As for taking her out of the kingdom, it is I who shall do so."
The king looked a little puzzled and amused.
"Well how about my daughter choose and deem who is worthy for such a journey together.
Jayden, as future son in law, you really should be staying here to learn the proper ways to rule as king, but nonetheless, we shall ask my daughter.
A few moments later, after a servant fetched the princess, the king asked the question.
"Daughter," the king exclaimed.
"It would seem both of these young men would like to take you out on a journey.
Palace guards shall be sent fourth with you, as well as a few hand maids.
It is your choice upon whom you choose."
I saw her look at Jack with a longing look, but then she turned to me.
"Jayden y-"
My heart struck full of pride in that very moment.
I didn't mean to but I suddenly blurted out words.
"Yes! I get to take y-"
That's when my happy thoughts vanished.
"Jayden!"
She snapped at me.
"I was going to say that you should stay here and stay very close to my father and learn some things about being king."
I was now very flustered.
The amused look on both the king and Jack's face was just too great for me.
"Well then it's settled."
The king after a hearty laugh pronounced.
"When shall this journey be?"
I looked over at the princess to find out the answer myself.
"We shall leave in two days, we shall be back by sunset on the last day of this month."
I saw Jack calmly composed.
For some reason I thought he'd be smirking at me.
But well, I guess he is just doing his duty.
Hmm, maybe he isn't a threat after all.
Now that the king had an excuse for the princess.
Everything was to be set for the 18th of the month.
The next two days were full of packing, getting ready, and talking between Rose, Jack, and I.
Nate and Anna had gone home already.
Today was the day!
