The Commoner

Jack's pov

Early the next morning, six hours after Nate and his army left I went out to go looking for the princess my way. A rumor had arrived at the palace about a girl who looked just like the princess.
I decided I must go and check it out.
It could be her!
As I pass down the halls I hear the quiet chatter of a milk maids pass, talking to another servant of the castle.

"I swear she looked exactly like her!
I was going to speak to her but I had to hurry along to the castle.
I saw her walk inside that ole baker's shop.
Eric!
Yes, that's the boy's name.
He told me today that she didn't even know who she was."

The servant then started talking. "Well that sure is quite a rumor isn't it!"

I left before hearing anymore of this crazy gossip, but it could be true.
So dressed in some old servants clothes I found I went out into the village in search of this baker.
My only lead into finding the beautiful girl.
After a half mile journey I found the baker's house.
I walk inside this cute little bakery within the house.

"Hello may I help you?"
A man with a genuine smile says to me.

"Yes, I'm looking for...for a friend.
She has beautiful silky hair with these gorgeous lips and brown doe eyes that could make you melt by staring into them too long."

He looks at me oddly.
"Umm, I'm sorry who?"

I snap out of my little daydream.
"I'm looking for a girl who happens to look exactly like-"

He stops me before I can finish.
"The princess?!
Hello, I'm Eric.
Let me tell you everything that happened."

After I sat down and spoke with him, I decided that since she was on foot she must not be very far.
I thanked Eric and started my own little hunt.
Could the princess be hiding from her duty to marry someone?
Is she hiding who she really is?
Is she hurt?
Can she remember anything or not?
These questions along with thousands more raced through my mind as I searched all morning, day, evening, and night on foot looking for the princess.
