Nate The Charmer
As I walked into his room I noticed everything was perfectly in its place.
Even his bed was made and it was dusk already.
I was simply amazed.
I'm the princess and even my room isn't as spotless.
"Please, sit down, your feet must be killing you by now."
He takes my hand and has me sit on a throne like chair that were in each of the men's rooms.
"Thank you, but I'm fine, really."
I said as I sat down.
"Here allow me."
He knelt on his knee and started to take off my golden colored three inch heels.
"You really don't have to do that.
A servant or I usually do."
I told him as he took the first one off.
"You see my lady, as I am in your household, in your kingdom, I am but a servant here as well."
He simply stated while taking the other heel off slowly.
"Nonsense, you are a guest in my castle.
Never a servant or anything below but a Prince or even a King."
I calmly said back.
"You may see it the way you do and I shall see it the way I do, and might I say how fair and beautiful you looked tonight in this wonderful gold silk woven dress."
I smiled at this and maybe blushed a little too.
"Thank you, I made it myself."
I tried not to right then and there take him up to the clothing tower and show him my many dresses but alas, that shall wait for another time.
"You did a splendid job your highness."
He said as he put my shoes to the side.
"Flattery will get you no where.
I hope you know that."
I said wanting to make sure he wasn't just saying it.
"Ah, but I do know that.
I'm simply being genuine.
I made you something.
I've been reading the books in the royal library and noticed something, you love paintings don't you?
I overheard the servants dusting the place tell one another about how many paintings you put in there.
You, a princess decorating the palace? Well, it's quite unheard of in my kingdom.
Anyhow, after I found out I went to the crafting room of the castle and made this."
He handed me a painting of my castle from afar.
Everything from the clouds in the sky to the rivers down below were painting with precise strokes of the brush and the most excellent color for each item painted.
I was breath taken.
"This is absolutely stunning Nate.
You did this?"
I was just so shocked at how marvelous it looked the words just slipped from my mouth.
He chuckled a little then replied.
"I did indeed paint this. I worked several hours in the night for I wanted it to be perfect.
I'm sorry for my disappearances and for being so mysterious."
He said sincerely.
"All is forgiven, although there is nothing to forgive.
I'm hanging this in my room if that is alright with you."
He smiled at this.
"Why of course you may.
It does belong to you."
You could see the confidence on his face.
"Well then, thank you and I must be heading off to bed.
I'm quite tired and you have a busy day tomorrow.
Get some rest Nate."
He took my shoes and arm as I stood.
"Well I can't let you walk alone now can I?
Saying it more as a statement than a question.
"Hmm, I guess not."
I laughed and took his arm as I reached for the painting.
"Allow me."
He took my shoes and the painting while still having my arm wrapped around his.
Simply amazed are the only words I could think of as he still looked perfect.
Not one falter in his actions.
As we were walking down the hall I saw the carved rose I had set down right outside his door on a little table. I thought about stopping Nate to get it, but I decided to wait and come back for it later.
Once we arrived at my bedroom he bowed and wished me a goodnight.
I bowed and did the same.
Once he was out of sight I ran back downstairs to grab my carved rose and guess who I run into...
