Future Wedding Plans

Rose's pov

I got really excited when Jack was enthused with listening to my future wedding plans.
As we sat together I started telling him my amazing wedding plans.

"Well first off, it would be outdoors in the rose garden, because well to me that would make the absolute perfect spot!
I'd want anyone who wishes to attend to be invited.
Especially the people in the village. They deserve to be there just as much as anyone else.
My mother was always so kind and was friends with every person she met.
I always admired her for her kindness and I followed in her foot steps.
Next I would wear my mother's satin pink wedding dress that she wore on her wedding day.
I know mother would want to see me in it.
Although I'd have it remade with roses embroidered onto the dress.
Just plain, nice and simple.
I wouldn't want any decorations or anything super fancy.
Oh, and a rose, much like this one."

I kept the rose in my lap while telling Jack my thoughts on a perfect wedding.
I watched him smile at me as I continued.

"I would want, well my mother and Melinda, and now that I know I have a younger sister, her as well to stand beside me.
Whomever the groom is could choose his own groomsmen.
I'm sure brothers or people very close to him would be the groomsmen.
As for what they'd dress in, well whatever they wish!
The only thing that would matter is saying 'I do' and being with the one I love."

My face then saddened but I tried to create a fake smile before Jack noticed, but as I suspected, he saw right through my facade.

"Rose," he started.
"You may call me Ella."

He looked shocked.
"A-are you s-sure?"
He stuttered.

"Yes, I am.
You've always been here for me and when you had the chance to go back home, you stayed and came along with me to save my family.
You deserve it.
You make four.
My mother, father, Melinda, and now you."

Jack's pov

I knew who Melinda was already. Within the time at the castle I knew just about everything there was to know about the princess.
Who her favorite people were, to her favorite tea at tea time, which was three o'clock precisely unless she had other plans.
If only she knew how I felt about her. She'd probably think I'm a creepy stalker.
Sigh, oh well.
It's not like anything I would say would matter anyways.
She belongs with Jayden, and I have accepted that.

"Well then, Ella, I know that you're upset right now.
You know it and I do too.
I'm not going to make you tell me what's going on in that pretty little head of yours, but I will however just let you know that I'm here for you if you ever need to cry or let something off your chest.
I know I'm not your fiancee,"

I saw her flinch at the word.

"Just know I'm here for you."

The corners of my lips pointed upwards in a small smile.
She moved closer to me and suddenly burst into tears and hugged me.
Salty tears began to fall from her beautiful face and onto the white long sleeved shirt I was wearing.
I did not care about my attire becoming slowly drenched, instead I just focused on her, more than anything just wanting her to be happy again, but I knew this would not be the case for quite a while.
I wrapped my arms around her and just let her cry.
I knew that this was what she really needed and without her mother or Melinda here that I needed to help her through this.
After a few minutes she left my shoulder and looked at me.
I slowly wiped the tears from her face and waited patiently for her to say something.

"I-I'm sorry, I'll explain now."

That's when she sat back down and started explaining things to me.
After about what seemed like an hour of her telling me about her mom and about Jayden when they were younger I started saying things back.

"So, has Jayden changed since you two were younger?"
She looked at me.
"Actually, other than the fact that he is more mature, I'm not really sure.
I haven't really got to catch up with him at all since I was so busy planning this trip.
All I know is that he saved me from John so I owe him my life, and that Eric he..."

I quickly said something before she started to cry again.

"I know and I'm so thankful that he was there for you.
He deserves you way more than I do."
Agh! No! Why did I say that last part?

"What was that?
More than you?"
She smiled.

"I-I think I'm tired or something. Sorry.."
The last part fading out.

"Hmm, alright then.
Well it felt really nice to talk and I think you're right."

I saw her yawn which made me yawn as well.

"It's getting late and we are to rise early tomorrow.
So I shall see you at dawn Jack."
She smiled and hugged me again.

"Alright then, and if you need anything, know that I'm only a simple call away.
Goodnight Ro- Ella."

I don't know why but I still felt really odd when calling her that.
I started to leave her tent.

"Hey Jack?"
I quickly turned around.

"Yes princess?"

I don't know why, but when it came to her.
I always felt like I should do anything and everything I could to make her happy.

"Thank you again, for the rose and also for being there for me.
You're a wonderful man.
I would've chosen you by the ways.
If it weren't for Jayden saving me and coming out of no where, you won.
I just thought you'd like to know."

After hearing those words I left with smile on my face.
I may not get to marry her, but she would've chosen me?
That's all I needed to hear to be happy the rest of my life.
Must I love her so much?
