Decisions

We were all gathered in the hall so I could make my decision.

"Well now it looks like we have a serious competition on our hands."
I spoke with a smile on my face.

"John, I'm sorry but you will no longer be competing for my hand in marriage.
You may pack your things and return home.
Jack and Nate, I have prepared a series of challenges for you.
May the best man win."
I grin at each of the fine looking men.
"Meet me in the grand dining hall for dinner, as I will then discuss what will be in this first challenge.
Until further ado, I bid thee a good a day gentlemen."
I then ascended the staircase.

I was curious and peeked over the balcony just to hear what they were saying.

"I can't believe out of you two talentless fools that I'm the one out.
I serenaded her.
How could a dumb library and a walk in a garden be better than me playing guitar?"
John rudely said to the two men standing before him.

"I don't know, but I wish you best of luck with another princess."
Nate bowed and took his exit after his statement.

Jack just stood there stunned.
He couldn't believe that he was moving forward.
So thrilled he wasn't even paying attention to John going off on how much he should've won or at least made it round two.
Jack didn't care actually, he was just happy that the princess decided to keep him in the competition.
He'd do anything to make the princess happy.
He started to walk off but John punched him in the chest, causing Jack to stumble back and hit his back harshly against the end table behind him.

"Where do you think you're going? You stole her from me!"
He screamed as he aggressively continued to walk towards Jack.

Quickly, Jack stood back up after taking in the pain.
"I-I didn't do anything. I'm sorry but you-you need to leave."
Jack stuttered out the best he could.

He wasn't scared, his chest just hurt pretty bad from the punch.
He ran upstairs and into his room as quick as he could.
John then uttered a few unheard words then went up to his room, packed, and left.
