Meeting a Teacher
Later on
There was a knock on my door, and the little window that Lukas had installed opened up to reveal Petra. I slowly got off my bed getting knocked out of my conscious, being the only place I was allowed to explore freely. "Eden, lunch is ready," she said with a dull tone sliding the meal through the opening.
I was silent as I grabbed it with no emotion, then taking it back over to my bed. "Eden, I'm sorry about this; it isn't fair. It's just, none of us have the courage to face Lukas, he's grown attached to you," Petra spoke sadly.
I didn't say anything, and that caught her attention. "It's been 2 months since you've said anything, I miss your conversation," Petra tried to lighten my spirit.
I didn't do anything except pick at my food, and that made Petra stare at the ground, then shut the door and walk off. I sighed, it really has been a long time since I've said anything, I've just been sucked into my own thoughts, and it seems I couldn't come out. After I finished my meal, I lied on my bed and thought more. Until, that is, there was a tiny knock on my window. Something in my soul sparked up, and I was pulled out of my mind.
I went over my window and opened up to see a man a little below me, I wasn't that far up, maybe like, a foot or two above him. "Hello?" I asked as he stared at me.
'ack, my voice is so raspy from not speaking for so long,' I thought.
"Are you Eden?" he asked.
"Y-yes?" I stuttered in confusion.
"I believe we met the day you arrived at Beacon Town, you bumped into me," he started off.
I thought about it, and there was a little memory of him, but I don't remember that ever happening, like it was a dream. "Ya, I kind of remember that," I answered.
"I heard what was going on with you, and this isn't right, I have an offer for you," he... offered.
"What is it, I'm up for almost anything, I'm getting bored of sitting in here," I convinced myself.
"How would like to come with me and train, that way if you ever face the Admin, you can defend yourself, and your captivator will trust you enough to fight for yourself," he persuaded.
"Well, for one, he's my friend, and second I barley know you, how do I know I can trust you," I asked.
"Take my hand and discover for yourself if you can trust me," he let out his hand.
I hesitated, but realized anything bad happening to me would be a bigger adventure then sitting in a room all alone for the next, who knows how long. I looked back at the door, but then looked at his face. His blue eyes seemed pure, and he had red hair and a red goatee that seemed innocent enough, and he dressed modestly. I grabbed the edge of my window, and lowered myself down and grabbed his hand and he pulled me into the woods with a trusting smile. I looked back at the dome as it became smaller and smaller. "I'm sorry Lukas," I apologized as I looked at the ground slightly disappointed in myself.
But then out of nowhere, this guy put his hand under my chin and made me to look at him, and he smiled and comforted me. Then we were off, new adventure, and if this man wasn't who he seemed to be, I guess I would find out for myself.
After a while of running, we appeared at this campsite, and then the guy let go of my hand and began setting up another tent right beside his own. "So um... if your gonna train me, can I know your name?" I asked.
He shifted a little bit and stood up and looked at me. "I-I'm..." he then seemed to go silent, unsure of his own name.
"It's Kedar..." he introduced then going back to his job.
"Kedar, cool, what's it stand for?" I asked being a bit to inquisitive.
"It means powerful," he continued on with his work sounding a bit annoyed.
"Awesome, so need me to do anything?" I asked trying to be helpful.
He was quiet for a moment, then said, "you know what, how about we start training. Go and get yourself a sword and I'll have this ready by then."
I nodded my head and went out, grabbed some wood, made sticks, made a pickaxe, then got some cobblestone, and made myself a cobblestone sword, and was back to campsite in a flash (I had left my Enchanted Iron Sword back at the base). But once I got there, he got the tent sent up a fire started, and even had something cooking over it. "Well that was quick," I commented walking over to the food.
Right as I was about to grab some of the food, Kedar stopped me and stated, "you can eat once I see progress in your fighting."
"But-" I hesitated.
"But nothing, come on, let's go and practice," he signaled for me to follow him with a wave of his hand.
I looked at the food, then him, and sighed then said, "Ok, I'm coming."
Whatever he was cooking smelt delicious, but I was going to have to put it off. He pulled out an iron sword and began his lesson. "Ok, first things first, you need to learn balance, and from I've seen, you don't seem to have the best posture," he insulted.
"Well, I can keep my shoulders back if you want me to," I did that, but he continued.
"No, not that, it's your knees. Their bending inwards," he stated.
"Well ya, I have high arches so my knees dip in like that along with my footing. So that's why my mom had me wear these-"Kedar than cut me off.
"I never asked you a question, now take off your shoes," he demanded.
"What?" I asked confused.
"You can't rely on your arch lifts to keep your balance, from now on your walking without your arches and you need to learn to walk straight on your feet," he told me.
"But what about sharp things and gravel and rocks? My feet will get hurt," I whined.
"Ok, second thing, no more whining. You need to stop pitying yourself and toughen up, life isn't gonna get any easier for you; you need to live with no fear," he said throwing my shoes off to the side with his sword.
"Wow, you don't deal with complainers do you," I asked a rhetorical question.
"Nope, I can tell life has been easy for you, but listen up, I'm not going to deal with any buttercups," he said.
"What happened, you were so nice earlier," I asked.
"You need someone tough to push you forward, now draw your sword and attack me," he demanded.
I did what he told me and did a battle cry as I ran towards him with my sword. But to my surprise, he moved off to the side and tripped me, and he continued to lecture me as I fell on my face. "Balance, focus on where your footing is being placed," he told me, being, so, so helpful.
"Well, I'm sorry if I don't have the balance of martial artist," I sassed pushing myself off the ground.
I continued in attempting to hit him, but he kept dodging them. Whenever I'd go towards him, all I saw was this red flash go by me as I tripped and fell. After a while, I started to get all dazed, I still fainted about once a day. "Kedar, I'm gonna fal-" I warned him falling over a bit.
"Nope, if you fall over I won't feed you," he threatened.
"What, but I can't help it," I excused feeling tired.
"I bet you can, if only you weren't so weak," he insulted me.
"I'm not weak," I stated unoffended.
"You're so pathetic, why, you can't even land a blow on me," he continued to insult.
"No, I'm not," I said confused onto why he was being mean, granted it wasn't working.
I was about to faint, until he said, "you're scared you're gonna fail, so you're giving up on trying any harder."
My eyes watered, all my life if something was ever too hard, I'd give up. I inhaled more air and stood up, wanting to fall over and faint.
"Why don't you just go back to the campsite and get some dinner, maybe you'll be more obligated to train tomorrow," Kedar taunted turning his back on me and smiling to himself.
"I'm not giving up this time," I whispered.
"But I thought you were tired," he continued to taunt.
"Not anymore," I lied, wanting to faint.
He did not look at me and kept his back turned. I glared at him and yawned real quickly before running towards him faster than I ever had before. As I swung my sword at him, he did maneuver, but I turned with him. He kept blocking me, not actually thrusting at me. This went on for a good 3 minutes, and right before I thought I'd faint, something hit my sword that wasn't Kedar's sword.
I opened my eyes as much as I could to see Kedar on the ground smirking at me. It took me a moment to process what had happened until I realized that I had actually hit him hard enough to knock him over. "Hah, I-I beat you," I boasted extremely exhausted and dizzy.
"Good job, I knew I could get to you," he stated.
I smiled at him like an idiot, or a tired idiot, and my eyes were about to shut. Before he could say anything else, I passed out. He stared at me awkwardly, but then smiled and chuckled saying, "I guess you can't stay awake."
Mini Time skip
I woke up feeling ok and yawned a little. It was dark out and all I could see was the dimmest of light shining through my tent. I remembered my victorious defeat and smiled to myself as I walked out of the tent. I saw the remains of the fire, and some food left over it. I ate it, and oh my goodness, it was delicious. I was going to thank Kedar, until I realized it was like, the middle of the night and he was probably asleep.
I saw his tent was opened a little, and I poked my head inside to see him asleep on his sleeping bag. He was actually pretty handsome, but that wasn't important. I stared at him for a little realizing I probably looked really creepy, and as I was about to leave, I saw a chest. Now, I'm a very curious person, so I went on a snoop fest. I snuck into his tent and opened the chest very quietly, and it revealed... stuff. It wasn't anything important, just a couple of swords, pickaxes, food, and even some ender pearls. I was going to leave it alone, but then I realized I felt as if I needed a better sword to fight with, and my new one was already going to break. I stole an iron pickaxe from his chest, and a sword, I would make up for them later, it was just iron.
I walked out of his tent and went on an exploration. I went back to the cave I got the cobblestone from and went on a search for diamonds. I ended up getting a lot of iron too, I figured I owed it to Kedar for stealing his stuff, and that I fricken kicked his butt a little while ago. After a longer time than I expected, and a couple of creepers, skeletons, and an unusual amount of zombies, I finally found some diamonds. There were three of them, and I turned two of them into a sword. I was going to just leave it at that until I saw some mossy cobblestone. I broke a hole in it hearing a bunch of groans, to reveal about 12 zombies all huddled around a zombie spawner.
"Oh shoot," I gasped a bit about to get out of there until I saw a chest.
'Ooh, that might have an enchantment book in it,' I thought.
I plugged the hole back up, and broke a hole two blocks higher, and destroyed the spawner and killed the zombies off one by one. It was much easier than I expected and looked in the chest. There was more iron, some string, a couple pieces of bread, Redstone, and a book of enchanting. I was most excited about the book, and when I looked at it, I knew I had to have been one of the luckiest people on earth; it had fricken sharpness lll on it. "Score!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs as I ran out of the cave excited.
I made an anvil, gave Kedar a new iron sword and pickaxe, and enchanted my new sword, and all before 4:00 a.m. "Yes," I gasped admiring my new enchanted diamond sword.
I went to bed and went to sleep, and for once it was easy to fall asleep. It was usually difficult to get myself to bed after my coma. But little did I know that Kedar was going to wake me up an hour later.
"Morning sunshine!!!" he yelled pulling my tent doors open.
"Huh meh guh ga," I mumbled annoyed pulling my covers over myself.
"Come on, there's breakfast," he tried to persuade me.
"So, you're not gonna make me work for it," I sassed.
"I'd never make you work for breakfast," he said with a smile scooping up some eggs for himself.
"Because it's the most important meal of the day?" I asked.
"Sure, but mostly because your gonna need as much energy as you can get for what I'm gonna put you through today," he grinned at me with a devious smile.
"You sure do like changing your emotions quickly," I stated.
"Yes, it's a fun hobby to see how many emotions you can try at the same time," he explained sounding like an innocent child.
"If you do that around other people they're gonna think you're a psychopath," I warned.
"Hm... people spend too much time judging others," he stated.
I looked at him in shock, that was really... really... true, and wise. "So, before you start making me wish I'd never met you, could I get to know you better," I questioned.
He was hesitant, and answered, "I guess."
"So, what's your favorite color," I began to question.
"Red," he replied.
"Of course, hm... how about a favorite animal," I asked.
"Dragon," he said without hesitation.
"Ok," I whispered hesitantly.
"What about favorite mob," I quarried slightly scared.
"Wither," he answered picking at the fire that was dying out.
"What is it with you and power?" I asked with a bit of an insulting tone.
"I just find power beautiful and strong, like fire for instance. The flames dance and are the most beautiful shades of orange, red, and yellow, yet they can be one of the most destructive things," he explained as I saw the flames of the fire raise and reflect in his eyes.
I was kind of freaked out, yet his description of it was understandable and wise sounding. "So, when are we gonna start training?" I asked impatiently.
He looked at me confused, and then questioned, "You seem really pumped up today, did something change between yesterday and today?"
"Actually ya, but it's gonna be a secret until we spar again," I said with a smile.
"Ok, we'll begin after you eat some food," he announced.
"Food?" I asked I didn't see him cook anything for me.
But then out of nowhere, there was a plate of eggs and bacon beside me and it smelt delicious. I wanted to question on how he got my breakfast close to me without me noticing, but I was too busy stuffing my face with it.
Once I finished, he started dragging me somewhere, and I had no idea what we were gonna do. "So, where are we going?" I asked suspiciously, I still didn't totally trust Kedar.
"Just be patient," he asked of me making it seem if more conspicuous.
After a while, I heard the sound of rushing water, and a lot of splashing. Eventually we came to a waterfall, it was really pretty, but what really made is special was how green the grass was around it and the how the light that shown threw the trees made it sparkle.
"Wow," I commented as I stopped and stared at the beautiful scenery in front of me.
"It's nice isn't it, it's one of the places I like to come to and think," Kedar stated.
"One of the places?" I quarried.
"Yes, but we can tour those later. Right now, I'm going to teach you to balance, now go and stand on that rock," he pointed towards the one rock at the bottom of the rushing waterfall.
"That one?" I asked, it was very small and I would probably fall off it once I stood on it.
"Yes, now do as I say," he demanded.
"Ok, ok," I listened going over and lightly pressing my foot on it before standing on it completely.
I had to stand with one leg in the air and I wobbled back and forth flailing my arms around once in a while. Kedar just stared at me as I almost had several heart attacks, until I became impatient and asked, "so now what."
"You thank your ready," he asked completely serious.
"For what?" I questioned.
"This," he answered throwing something at me.
It was a rock, and I quickly grabbed it before it hit my face, but the sudden shock made me fall over. I landed in the shallow water; it was a small waterfall going into a stream, getting all wet. Kedar sighed in disappointment and mumbled, "We got a lot of work to do."
I glared at him, "I'm sorry, I just wasn't expecting you to throw a rock at me."
"You weren't supposed to; I was testing to see how fast your reflexes are. They're pretty good, except you panicked and lost balance, so we're done here today," he explained walking off.
"What, but we just got here?" I stated confused.
"Yes, but all these are just test runs, tomorrow we start real training," he answered me getting farther.
"Ok then..." I mumbled getting out of the water following after him.
After walking a good distance, we ended the side of a mountain, with a bunch of boulders. "So what are we gonna do here?" I asked.
"We're gonna practice strength, so, how strong are you," he questioned me.
"Well, I'm pretty strong, I can-" he cut me off in mid-sentence and ordered, "lift that rock."
He pointed at this rock as big as my lower half; there was no way I could pick it up. I pointed at it myself and gave him a look that said, "that one, really." He shook his head, yes, and I shrugged and gave it a shot.
Of course, I wasn't able to lift it, it was like 300 pounds, but it gave him a good laugh watching me an attempt at grabbing it. I gave up; luckily this was all just a quick practice, so he didn't expect much of me. We walked off to the next place which was on top of a mountain we did the strength test thing. It was light and airy up there and before I could ask him what we were doing, he stated, "peace, we're gonna work on peace."
"So, is all of this like a, water, earth, air, and fire, type of a deal," I questioned.
"Sort of," he replied with a bit of a smile.
"O.k." I whispered.
He sat down and I followed his movements, we did Indian style sitting (or crisscross applesauce) and he started his lesson.
"Here, we're gonna try and release any stress or anxiety you might be feeling, that way you can be at peace. So the first thing you want to do is admit any faults or things you may be ashamed of to me and yourself, so begin," he ordered.
I thought about it, there were a couple of them, but none of them were really that bad until one hit me hard. My eyes began watering and I quickly looked away from Kedar so he wouldn't notice me, but I was too late. "What's wrong?" he asked, probably either about to insult or comfort me, I couldn't read him very well.
"It-It's just, I just realized I left Lukas and he's probably scared and freaking out that I'm gone. He became depressed when I went into a coma, but he knew where I was when that happened, but now he has no idea where I am now and probably thinks I've been kidnapped by the Admin," I babbled.
"Who's the Admin?" he asked me.
"What, you don't know him?" I inquired instead of answering him.
"No, I spend most of my time in the forest then in town," he said giving me an explanation.
"Oh, well then, he's um..." I said going off on a rant, afterward, my description of the Admin was kind of evil, but nobody's perfect.
"Is that what everyone else thinks of him," he questioned.
"Well, no, their description would be much more, deadly and evil, but I mean, you get the picture," I replied.
Kedar went silent as he went into deep thought mode, but I didn't want to be up there for too long since I was having a hard time breathing. "Um, Kedar?" I asked snapping him out of his thoughts.
"What... oh yes, Lukas. So you think you left him scared and worried about you," he assured himself.
"No, I don't 'think' I left worried, I know I did. Right now he's probably running around and panicking and I left him like that and-" "you think you're a terrible friend?" he answered for me.
"Yes," I replied.
"All I can say is your gonna have to let that concern and worry go, so you may have left him stressed out, but you'll back once your training is finished, and I believe that if you try hard, you can succeed in all of your training in about 4 months," Kedar stated comforting me, "besides, once you return he won't have to worry about you because you'll know how to defend yourself, I believe in you, Eden."
I smiled at him, he was so great with words, I brushed back my hair and asked, "you really think so?"
"I know so," he confirmed smiling back at me.
We stared at each other until he got up and said, "I guess we're done for today," and walked off.
"So, we are doing fire next? Where are going?" I asked enthusiastically.
"Like I said, we're done," he said somewhat pleased with himself for some reason.
"What, but I thought you were doing the element things, we have one more, fire?" I questioned.
"We have," he answered with a grin walking off all proper.
I thought back, and the little 'power' lecture he gave me was fire. "Oh!!!" I kind of yelled realizing.
Kedar gave me a strange look, but I just smiled at him, and we were off.
Hope you enjoyed this, I didn't spend much time on edditing because my sister is watching in aweseome show without me. BYE BISCUITS!!!
