WHO'S READY FOR THE WESTVILLE HIGH V.S KINGMAN HIGH FOOTBALL GAME?!?!!?! The game will be held at Kingman High School at (A/N This is a random adress) 45th street Buckingham and Lensly. We will be holding tryouts after school at 5:00 p.m for the 2nd string Quarterback. Unfortunately after last week's game James, Learoy, and Jack are severely injured. Solely because of that we will be also holding tryouts, on the same day, for saftey, Linebacker, and reciever.

That's the end of the announcements. Enjoy your day and GO WILDCATS!"

I sat through Chemistry, Biology, and Math pondering if I should tryout. I decided during lunch I would drag Kaleb to bring me back to the house so I could grab my equipment. But I would not tell him that I would tryout.

I grab a sandwich and head to find Kaleb. I completely avoid Jessica, Chloe, and Eliza. Not to be offensive but after hanging out with them for two days they became absolute bitchy control freaks. But, I did find a new friend JK what am i saying? She's not really new.

FLASHBACK

Biology. Can I get a Whoop Whoop? I hate it. Memorizing stuff sucks. I sat down in my usual seat. Ms. Karen claps her hands to make everyone shut up and starts the lesson. About half an hour later the door opens and Mrs. Whitmin, the principle comes in with a familiar girl behind her.
"Ms. Karen sorry to interrupt, but Tyla Crosswhite just transferred from Nate High. Tyla will be joining your class for the rest of the year."

OMFG!!!!! EEEKKK!!! I freak out in my head my childhood best friend Tyla is here! So let's start from the beginning, when I was 3 my mom signed me up for ice skating lessons. At that time I didn't have a private teacher since I was just starting and I didn't know if I would like it. I met Ty there and we became instant best friends. The next year we had private lessons together -they weren't really private lessons but we did lessons only us together-. Last year Ty and her family moved away because her Grandma was dying. Ty sat down next to me and we just talked and talked for the rest of biology. We both were so glad to see each other!

Present Day

"Kaleb!" I yell finding him. Ty wasn't here for lunch today because she had to go to the library to study.

"I need you to drive me home!"
"And why is that?" He replys. I sit down next to him with his friends surrounding us.
"I forgot something!" I yell shaking him.
"Okay! Okay!"
"THANK YOU KALEB."
"

See you later guys, I have to bring this midget home."
"Kaden is taking you home today because I have to help Coach run the tryouts." Kaleb announces out of the blue.
"It's okay I can stay after school and wait. I have to go to the library anyway." I felt so bad for lying to him. Over the week we became so close brother and sister close, like we have known each other for years.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah." I confirm.

Once we get home, I grab my duffle with my football equipment. "What's that?" Kaleb asks.
"Equipment, for a project."
"Okay?" Kaleb replies unsure. "Remember, you don't have to stay if you change your mind text me."
"Don't worry I will stay cause I love you." I exclaim hugging him and skipping out of the house.

It's finally football tryouts. I spot Kaleb standing next to coach scanning over everyone. My duffle holds all my personal football equipment. Like my football pads, cleats, etcetera. I only came wearing my workout-ish clothes and Ty. I told Ty cause when we were younger we promised not to lie to each other. That's what kept our friendship running.
"Ty you know that you don't have to stay."
"I know but I will. I sit here a cheer you on!" She replied with a grin.
"OK, but if you get bored you can go." I remind her.

I confidently walk up to Coach Johnson and state,"I am here to tryout."
"You know that this is football right? AMERICAN football."
"Yeah I know."
"Oh hey Kristy, what are you doing here? I thought you were going to the library." Kaleb says.
"This little girl is here to tryout." Coach Johnson says humorously.
"No, Kristy you're going to get hurt. You have never played football before."
"Kaleb, let the girl tryout. I am not going easier on you than anyone of the guys. If you get hurt your fault, not mine." Coach firmly states.
"Ok. Fine. Deal." I reply.
"Gather around everyone!" Coach yells. "Today are tryouts for Quarterback, Safety, Linebacker, and receiver. First we will be testing your endurance. 10 FULL SUICIDES THE FIELD AND BACK IS ONE SUICIDE." We all stared at him in disbelief.
"WHY ARE YOU STARING GO!" He yells furiously.
That's when I know the tryouts would be hell.

Football Terms/ Glossary:

-OFFENSIVE SIDE-

Quarterback: The leader of the team. He calls the plays in the huddle, yells the signals at the line of scrimmage, and receives the ball from the center. Then he hands off the ball to a running back, throws it to a receiver, or runs with it.

Center: The player who snaps the ball to the quarterback. He handles the ball on every play.
Running back: A player who runs with the football. Running backs are also referred to as tailbacks, halfbacks, and rushers.

Fullback: A player who's responsible for blocking for the running back and also for pass-blocking to protect the quarterback. Fullbacks, who are generally bigger than running backs, are short-yardage runners.
Wide receiver: A player who uses his speed and quickness to elude defenders and catch the football. Teams use as many as two to four wide receivers on every play.

Tight end: A player who serves as a receiver and also as a blocker. This player lines up beside the offensive tackle to the right or the left of the quarterback.
Left guard and right guard: The inner two members of the offensive line, whose jobs are to block for and protect the quarterback and ball carriers.

Left tackle and right tackle: The outer two members of the offensive line.

-DEFENSEIVE SIDE-

Defensive tackle: The inner two members of the defensive line, whose jobs are to maintain their positions in order to stop a running play or run through a gap in the offensive line to pressure the quarterback or disrupt the backfield formation.

Defensive end: The outer two members of the defensive line. Generally, their jobs are to overcome offensive blocking and meet in the backfield, where they combine to tackle the quarterback or ball carrier. On running plays to the outside, they're responsible for forcing the ball carrier either out of bounds or toward (into) the pursuit of their defensive teammates.

Linebacker: These players line up behind the defensive linemen and generally are regarded as the team's best tacklers. Depending on the formation, most teams employ either three or four linebackers on every play. Linebackers often have the dual role of defending the run and the pass.

Safety: The players who line up the deepest in the secondary - the last line of defense. There are free safeties and strong safeties, and they must defend the deep pass and the run.

Cornerback: The players who line up on the wide parts of the field, generally opposite the offensive receivers.
