Jack
After we got our food, we took a seat in a booth by the window.
"This place reminds me of a shop back in Florida called Philly Connections." She picked up her sandwich.
"You've been to Florida before?" I picked up mine and started to unwrap it.
"Used to live there until I was thirteen." She said.
"I knew you sounded different." I smiled. "Your southern accent kicks in here and there."
"Yea, I got that a lot in middle school." She took her first bite.
Cue the fireworks...
Her eyes widened in shock and she chewed slowly and swallowed and took an even bigger bite than before. "Oh meh gush! Dish ish dewishuss." She said with a full mouth.
I laughed after finishing a bite out of my own sandwhich. "What was that?" I smirked
She swallowed and wiped her mouth with her napkin. "I said that this is delicious." Then she turned around in her seat to face the kitchen. "Hey! This is delicious! You guys are amazing!"
I just stared at her in shock. She just yelled a compliment at them. "THANK YOU!" They all yelled back.
She turned back into her seat and took another bite and swallowed. "This is heaven on my tongue and I'm not saying that because I'm hungry. It's the truth!" She exclaimed happily.
"Told ya so." I grinned. Then something sparkly caught my eye. There was this silver pendant shaped like a spade. Looks like something is inscribed in it. I wonder what it says...
"Hey!" She snapped her fingers at me, bringing me back to reality. "Eyes are up here fam."
I blushed and laughed nervously. "I-I wasn't staring there." I kept eye contact with her. "I was looking at your necklace. It's pretty."
She looked down and picked it up. "Yea...my mom gave it to me." She smiled fondly at it.
"What does it say?" I asked.
She chuckled before speaking. "Silent Ace with the letter A in it."
I raised a questioning eyebrow. "Silent Ace? How did you get that nickname?"
"I'm the best of the best and quiet...most of the time." She giggled.
"Uh-huh.... That's cute." I grinned at her.
She turned a light shade of pink and turned her face away from me and looked out the window. She's adorable. Her whole demeanor changed to a slight frown. "What's wrong?" I asked.
"That's what's wrong." She pointed to a black pickup truck. I narrowed my eyes. I know exactly who drives that thing.
"What about it?" I asked casually.
"It's been following us this whole time and I don't like it." She crossed her arms.
She'll definitely won't like the driver either...wait until she finds out. It only gets interesting from there.
"I assure you, Mils the person who's driving that truck is not going to hurt you." I let out a deep breath.
She looked perplexed and glanced from me to the truck then back to me again. "Who's the stalker?" She pointed with her thumb.
My phone buzzed.
Dean: Tell her and you gets hurt.
I put my phone down and rolled my eyes. Then I forced a small smile when she removed her gaze from the truck and back to me. "Nobody important. Just one of my guards." I lied.
I just met the girl and I feel bad. Is it bad to say that I hate lying to her?
She looked as if she didn't believe me, but she shrugged and nodded slowly. "You need a guard?" She asked, smirking.
"Of course! I'm like a second son! I'm a target too!" I said defensively.
"Okay." She grinned and took out her phone and shook her head. Her case was emerald and had the...Slytherin crest?
What?! Can it really be her?! Is she the only other person that I can nerd out with?!
She placed her phone back into her pocket and I couldn't do anything but grin at her. "What?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Slytherin, huh?" I grinned.
"Slytherin pride all the way." She smirked. "What about you? What's your house?"
"Ravenclaw." I grinned proudly.
"My second favorite house." She smiled. "What's your combined house because mine is Slytherclaw."
"It would be Ravendor." I smiled.
Then she giggled. "It's good to find more Potterheads. Where have you been?"
"I was going to ask you the same thing." I gave a lopsided grin.
We both laughed and I looked at my watch. 8:37. After we finished eating, we just sat there, enjoying each other's company.
"Is it bad to to say that I want some ice cream after that big sandwich?" She grinned at me.
"No, because I was thinking the same thing." I said and we stood up. "But where can we get some though in a short periolodically time?"
She turned to face me laughing. "I know you did not just say periolodically." "I did." I laughed. She rolled her eyes. "I saw a WaWa on the way here."
"Wawa it is." We both walked out of the door and I helped her into the Jeep.
We drove back into Spades territory. I parked out in the parking lot and we both got out. Good gawd this place is crawling with them. As soon as we walked in, all eyes were on us and I tensed up.
"Mils. It feels like I'm invading on private property." I whispered in her ear.
She linked arms with me and I felt myself relax. "Calm down you're with me." Then she looked at all of them and waved. "Hey, boys!"
They nodded in response and continued whatever it is they're doing. We walked casually to the freezers, still noting the sideways glances in our direction.
"Are you sure I won't get shot for this, later?" I asked quietly.
She tsked and shook her head. "Have you no faith in me?" She opened up the freezer and pulled a container out. "You like Häagen Däz?"
How can she casually switch the subject like this when I'm on Spade territory? They're mean mugging me! I'm not afraid of them. I'm afraid of them telling her father!
"Häagen Däz does sound good." I held the container that she handed me.
We walked towards the counter and I paid for them and we headed to the Jeep. "Thanks, Jay." She grinned as she opened her ice cream.
Oh my goodness! She has a nickname for me!
"You're welcome." I smiled.
*-*-*-*
We pulled into the parking lot
next to her Camaro. "It's 9:12. We made good timing." I grinned as I let her out.
"I know!" She beamed happily. "Told ya that the streets would be empty."
"I was sorta hoping they wouldn't." I frowned.
"Why?" She tilted her head slightly and gave me a questioning look.
"I wanted to see you turn into a pumpkin." I huffed and shook my head.
"Jack." She giggled and lightly punched me on the shoulder. She then took her keys out and unlocked her car. Them she turned around to face me again.
"I had fun, Jack." She hugged me. Took me by surprise, but I hugged her back. "Thanks."
"No problem." I grinned. "Anything for you."
She smiled and stood on her tiptoes and gave me a kiss on the cheek and got into her car. I stood there feeling starstruck. She waved and drove off.
She kissed me on the cheek ♥ ♥
My phone buzzed.
Dean: You're dead
Oh geez....
