Milan

The ride home consisted of talking and jammin' out to music. He walked me to my apartment and left.
Yea..Elliot is cool...
I plopped on the couch and turned on the television, dozing off when I heard the doorbell ring. I huffed and walked to the door. "Who's there?"

"Jack, Mils." He said. I mentally squealed when I heard his voice. I love seeing his cute little dimples. I opened the door and smiled. "Hi, Jack."

"Hey, gorgeous." He grinned showing off those dimples. o(^▽^)o love them!

I looked at him his brown hair had the bed head tousled look that was hawt. He was wearing black jeans and...a Batman shirt. My grin grew even wider. "Team Bat, huh?"

He looked down at his shirt and smiled. Omg Dimples! "Of course! Batman is the best!"

I smiled and leaned in the doorway. "So where are we going?"

"Do you like philly cheesesteaks?" He grinned.

"Duh..." I grinned. "I eat pretty much anything."

"Good, because I know this good off the map place." He said taking my hand.

Good thing I still had my keys and wallet on me, because my door automatically locks.

As we descended the steps, I scanned the parking lot. Something seems out of place. I know when my neighbors show up, what car they drive, who they bring over on a certain day. It's not because I'm a creep. It's because I'm trained to do it. I can easily spot when something's out of place. And that black pickup truck is out of place! Jack seemed to notice it too because his face darkened.

We walked up to Jack's white Jeep Renegade. Gotta admit that this thing is noice!!

He opened the door for me and I got in mumbling a polite thanks. That truck was parked right next to us and I looked through the passenger window to see who was the driver. I could only make out an outline of the person, but couldn't see them because of the tint. I narrowed my eyes. I'll figure you out, stranger...

As soon as he got in I smiled. "Nice Renegade."

"Thanks." He said as he buckled up.

"When did you get it?" I asked.

"Two weeks ago. And it still had that new car smell." He smiled proudly.

"Everytime I see a Renegade, it makes me want to sing the song by X Ambassadors."I smiled to myself.

"I play it everytime I get in. It's like a theme song of mine." He said.

"Play your theme song. Keep the tradition going." I urged.

He broke out into a full out grin. "I was hoping you'd say that." He turned on the music and started to drive off. I couldn't help but sing along.

Run away with me. Lost souls and revelry. Runnin' wild and runnin' free. Two kids you and me.

He tapped his fingers on the steering wheel while I mouthed the words, then my phone buzzed.

Miguel: I forgot to mention that I'm leaving at 10 2nite. So he's staying with you. Pick him up at 9:45

Me: He's not taking his car?

Miguel: 🙅 NO! Mikey+car-me= Summer of '15 again

Summer of '15...Sigh...the little idiot stole a car, drove it into a lake, and and fled the scene. Miguel had to bail him out of jail.

Me: 😒😒Fine, I'll babysit

Miguel; Thanks a bunch. Te amo😘😘

Me: Whatever

I pocketed my phone and sat back with a huff. Jack gave me a look of concern. "What has you agitated?" He asked.

"I have to babysit my little brother this weekend, Miguel is going on a business trip. Under no circumstances can he be left unattended." I crossed my arms.

"That bad, huh?" He grinned, I nodded. Then he scoffed in disbelief. "What time do you need to be home before you turn into a pumpkin?"

"Shut up." I rolled my eyes and found myself giggling at the joke. "At the earliest, 9:15."

9:15 sounds good because Miguel leaves at 10 and he wants me there by 9:45, so that'll give me 30 minutes to drive to his house from my apartment.

Gawd, Mils. You're so good at time management. Hahaha...

"Sounds like a plan if there's no traffic involved."he said.

"Trust me. There won't." I said with confidence. "It seems like the city knows when either Damon or Miguel leaves, the streets start to look abandoned."

"I would clear the street too. I mean do you not see those mean mugs they have?" He looked at me and back at the road. "One wrong look and you're dead."

"They both are petty about looks." I shook my head. "Once in a meeting, Miguel shot a guy in the foot just because the guy rolled his eyes at Miguel. And to be honest, the dude was asking for it and I laughed."

"That's horrible." He chuckled.

"I have the tendency to laugh in awkward situations and unrealistic deaths, like in horror movies." I held back a laugh. "Like in Final Destination, I laugh at those because they are hilariously unrealistic."

"So, I'm guessing you can't go to funerals?" He asked.

"At funerals, I'm good. And scratch that horror movie part. Some of them scare the crap out of me." I said quickly.

"Like what?" "Like the Conjuring, Insidious... crazy crap like that." I shuddered at the thought. "It's just ugh."

"Yea. Those are pretty scary." He nodded in agreement.

I looked out the window and at the side view mirror and saw three cars behind us was that black pick up truck.

It's that truck...or it could be one of thousands that's made like it... Still not taking any chances.

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. "So...how much longer until we get there?" I asked.

"We're already here." He parked.
He walked over to the passenger side and let me out. I looked at the place. It just looked regular with old, chipped grey paint and a worn, red roof with a neon green sign that says Stuff N Steaks. He held the door open for me and gave me a gentlemanly bow. I blushed and suppressed a giggle.

"Welcome to Stuff N Steaks." The worker chirped happily.

"I already like it." I grinned broadly. "The name's catchy."

"Wait until you try the cheese steaks." He smiled.

My stomach growled at the thought. Let me rephrase that... My stomach roared at the thought of food. He looked at me with wide eyes and I blushed. "I don't think I can wait much longer." I said feeling sheepish.

He just laughed and shook his head. "Lets feed you before your stomach attack itself."
