AOTY - INTRO

*Please note every book name and username is copy pasted right from your forms.

Whew, lots of participants. Let's do the intros for everyone!

Also, yes, I will be announcing the word count of the Indie Awards in this category's results. I wasn't expecting Fan Vote to close so soon and get out before AOTY, so I didn't have it planned the way I originally thought lol. I'll be announcing the word count and who guessed closest in the next results! If you haven't left a guess on the word count for the Indie category, go to the Indie results chapter's intro note and do so! It only takes a few seconds, and if you guess the closest, you win a prize. Doesn't hurt, right?

Guys, please welcome the participants for the first huge category for the WHO Awards!

They are:

4everSherlocked with the book One More Sunset, a sad short fanfic featuring BTS' Jungkook and an original female character, though I will not spoil the plot since it's all connected to the female lead. I guess you're just gonna have to read it to find out ;)

Sherly is a long-time friend of mine, and I have been judging her work for over a year now. She has won in my contests before in numerous different positions, scoring some of the highest scores I've ever given out during the Eclipse Awards' run.

Sherly writes a lot, and I mean a lot, and I think you guys should go check her out, especially if you like K-pop! But even if you don't, Sherly writes stories that are super accessible to non-K-pop fans. I personally would recommend Inner Child by her! Thank you, Sherly, for signing up!

AprilJester with the book My Never-Ending Book, which is a clever title for a short story compilation. The unique part about this compilation is that they are shorts written for The Mahani Wolves, a series written by April.

You may recognize April from the Indie category as well as Saramitra and I's weekly contest, where she took home second place in week 1! Or if not from the numerous contests April takes part in, then for her hit book The Mahani Wolves, which has an impressive over 100k reads. Congratulations on that awesome milestone!

As you can see, April is a pretty seasoned writer with plenty to offer on her page. From full stories to shorts to fanfics to prompts, April has it all, and I hope you guys go take a little peek at her profile!

shinhaari with the book Let's Go on a Strange Date. This short story is quite literally what the title says: a short about going on unconventional dates. Can't get simpler than that, but it's written in a way that makes it more complex and layered!

Hari is another one of my friends who I have been reviewing for over a year now, and you may recognize her because she too has won in my contests before! Yeah, only three people in and we're looking at some tight competition, huh? This is gonna be interesting for me to judge...

Anywho, that aside, Let's Go on a Strange Date is adorable and definitely worth reading, so I strongly recommend checking it out! Hari always has very unique and vivid ideas that make her stories stand out from others on Wattpad, so I encourage you to give her profile a looksie!

MiaKurenai_2009 with the book The Ballad of Time and Moon. This story not only has a beautiful title but also has a unique time-based narrative. It's a short read clocking in at under 30 minutes, so you should definitely take a look since it'll be worth your time!

Mia is a writer I've read and reviewed quite a few times in the past, and I'm excited to see you back for this new contest of mine! I'm eager to read this short again and re-immerse myself in your unique world!

In general, everyone here may recognize Mia from Shattered Wings, which is close to getting 10k reads. Congratulations on almost 8k reads and close to 10k overall reads! That's an amazing accomplishment, and I hope you guys check out Shattered Wings to help get it to that milestone!

emilypoole977 with the book Birthday Prank Gone Wrong. As the title implies, this short fanfic is about a birthday prank going wrong, resulting in some tears, hugs, and conflicts.

Emily is yet another person who I am friends with and have been reviewing for over a year! You may recognize Emily from the Fan Vote category or my other contests, such as the weekly writing contest. Emily frequently joins contests and is very involved in the community, and on behalf of everyone in the community, we appreciate you being here!

I've said it once, I've said it twice, I've probably even said it a third time, but Emily's highlight as a writer is her unique ability to take emotions and make them the core of a storyline in a unique way. Her emotional play is what makes her stand apart from other writers on Wattpad, and if you're someone who enjoys works where mental health and emotions are the core of the story, then you'll enjoy her stories! Even if you're not a K-pop fan, I think you will enjoy what she cooks up.

CarmenJohnson599 with the book A Walk in the Orchard. This short is about a tough narrator who ends up going toe-to-toe with a relentless bully who didn't get the memo that bullying is not allowed.

You may recognize Carmen from the Indie category, where Two Wrongs Don't Make A Right took home an honorable mention! I strongly recommend reading that story since it was a really interesting narrative with a cool twist I didn't see coming!

In general, Carmen writes many engaging, unique shorts that I think you guys would have a lot of fun with. They're easy to read and entertaining, so I strongly recommend them! I very strongly recommend A Walk in the Orchard, as it's hard not to have a fun time reading about bullies getting what they deserve, right? So go check it out!

Pviscelle with the book A Midsummer Night's Dream. Beautiful title. This short is all about temptation, and it's a pretty quick read, so if you're looking for something quick but impactful, this is the short for you!

Stella is yet another friend of mine (I'm sensing a theme...) who I admire for her experimentation in different genres. You can find original works, poetry, and fanfics on her profile, so something for everyone!

I've read quite a few of her works before, and all of them have been really interesting and entertaining. You may recognize Stella from Your Devil: A Doomed Catastrophe, which I have read in the past and can say it's a good read, so I highly recommend it! It's great to see you again, Stella, and I'm excited to read A Midsummer Night's Dream again!

ivyb4winter with the book Oneshots. As the title implies, this is a oneshot compilation covering a variety of topics, and I am judging Wilted and Apart.

Ivy is a talented writer with three works on her profile, but Ivy has also participated in collaborations, such as Soul Piece, with kookiebear0901! Soul Piece is also submitted to this awards under the K-pop category, so you can expect to see my review of that book in the near future!

As an individual, Ivy has published the Oneshots, Letters To No one, and Mellifluent, and all of which sound pretty interesting, right? Especially Mellifluent. I strongly encourage everyone reading this to go check out these works! I've already read both of the oneshots, and I can say they're pretty solid work, so I recommend them!

Thatgurlaturdoor with the book The Final Sacrifice, specifically the Nikita chapter she wrote. This book is a fiction fusion written by Thatgurlaturdoor and luvelleszzz, originally written for the Esthetique Community's writing contests.

You may recognize Thatgurlaturdoor from Saramitra and I's weekly writing contest! I think you guys will enjoy Thatgurlaturdoor's work, especially Woes of a Wealthy Genius, which I have been reading and commenting on, so if you guys wanna send a little hi my way, feel free to check out that story and look for my comments!

Even going beyond Woes of a Wealthy Genius, there are plenty other works to enjoy on Thatgurlaturdoor's profile! For example, Death Swap. That name alone sounds interesting, right? Well, it gets better: the cover and blurb are cool, too. I hope you guys take a looksie at her profile!

katiegoesmew with the book The Fabulous Spec-Fic SmackDown Anthology. Wowzers, what a title. If that title doesn't interest you, I don't know what will, haha.

You may recognize Katie from the Indie category, where she took home second place for her wonderful book, The Hidden Crystal. I'm convinced that this category is going to be a fight to the death at this point. I've read more than half the stories already, and, yeah, it's definitely going to be tough to judge...

But that aside, Katie is a wonderful author I'm sure most of you know from her active engagement in the community as a judge, reviewer, and writer. She's made many awesome works that will give you a long journey you won't forget, and I strongly recommend checking out everything she's done since they're all bangers!

BookLover3062 with the book Runaway Princess. As the title implies, this short story follows a princess, Sunny, and her younger cousin, Katherine, on a magical quest.

You may recognize BookLover, or Ava, from the previous results, the Fan Vote, where she took home an honorable mention for Angels in Disguise, which was written in collaboration with bookwormrp. That story I definitely strongly recommend. It's a really unique narrative that will have you transported into new realms you'll enjoy.

Ava is a very kind and considerate person who is always eager to write and read, so if you guys are looking for a passionate writer with no shortage of unique ideas, then I think you'll love Ava's profile!

bangtanrewinds with the book Reversing the Epoch. Reversing the Epoch is a PJM-

PJM???? PARK JIMIN???

JIMIN??? JIMIN JIMIN JIMIN JIMIN JIMIN JIMIN-

Ahem, sorry. Anyway, Reversing the Epoch is a short fanfic following BTS member Park Jimin, and it is a fantasy/supernatural type story with demons and conquering (wish Jimin would conquer me).

Bangtanrewinds, or Bella, is very talented, and I don't think you need me to tell you that if you know Bangtanrewinds. To start, Bella is fantastic with all things aesthetics. Whether it be banners, covers, profile pictures, or anything else in the realm of aesthetics, she's got you covered!

Along with the awesome graphics, Bella is a great writer with many strong attributes, such as unique ideas and attractive chapter titles that will make you want to click on the book more and more. She does an excellent job hooking her readers in, and I'm so excited to read more of her work in the future! I hope you guys do, too!

GoldenieTwilightie with the book The Last of Them. This is a really unique book that will pique your interest just from the cover alone. Seriously, go look at the cover, it's so cool! But beyond the cover, the story has a fascinating blend of fantasy and legend, creating a fresh narrative that stands out from the other work on Wattpad.

GoldenieTwilightie is a fellow Wattpad Ambassador and writer who has created some really awesome work. Even ones I haven't read yet look extremely interesting, like Underneath the Wedding Invitation. Like, come on, doesn't that sound cool? The cover is awesome, too. You just have a thing for nice covers, don't you?

GoldenieTwilightie also does plenty awards and reviews, which makes her very well-versed in the world of contests and judging. From one host to another, thank you for your hard work in the community, and thank you for being here!

Pulchra_Aurum with the book The Book of Oneshots (Inferno's Edge). This short story is really good, and it does a great job capturing dark themes in a fascinating way. I'm super excited to post my review of it!

You may recognize this author from the weekly writing contest Saramitra and I host, where Pulchra_Aurum, or Evie, took home first place with Cheerless, which is actually posted in the oneshots submitted here, so you can go check it out at the same time you're checking out Inferno's Edge! The way Evie writes about dark topics is hypnotizing, and I can't wait to keep taking a dive into your work.

Along with that, there are plenty of works on Evie's profile that are awesome or at least look awesome, even though I haven't personally read them yet, like The Celebrity Slaughter. Oh come on, don't tell me that doesn't sound sick. So y'all should go read it and then report to me how it it ;)

Thank you, Evie, for signing up!

itsmethesmc with the book WEREWOLF GAME: THE HUNT. As the title implies, this short story is about werewolf game, but the stakes continue to rise as the story goes on, leaving you wondering how it's going to end...

itsmethesmc, or Sanjidah, is an avid reader and writer who writes in two languages, so hey, that's pretty diverse, and I respect that effort. It's hard to write in one language, let alone more than one, so props to you for that dedication! That shows how much passion you have for writing.

Along with that, Sanjidah writes poetry, which is just plain awesome. We need more poetry writers on Wattpad, after all. So, everyone, please go support Sanjidah! Especially the poetry, since poetry isn't loved enough on here. Oh, and if you like Kim Taehyung, I strongly suggest checking out Stare on Sanjidah's profile ;)

Mochi711 with the book In Vino Veritas. This is a short story about Min Yoongi, which means LAJoyner probably is going to read it or already read it. If you like Yoongi, you'll definitely like this story ;)

Esi is yet another friend of mine who has had just about enough of my Discord server and Estella, Amarleen, and I spamming about Starfield. But, we adore you, Esi, and we're grateful to have you... even if you want to rip our heads off sometimes.

Esi is a talented writer who has the most relatable writing process ever. Just ask her about it and you'll realize she's probably the most relatable writer ever.

But that aside, Esi recently scored third place in Saramitra and I's weekly writing contest for week 1, so I strongly recommend checking her entry out! We also both gave her our thoughts on her entry in the weekly contest book, so I encourage checking that out, too, to see what everyone has to say about this awesome author!

Iyah-M with the book The Essay Collection. As the title implies, this is a collection of essays that cover a variety of topics.

Iyah-M, or Eeyah, is a really fun, sweet person who is always so positive and supporting of everyone. You have to be an evil person to ever say anything bad about Eeyah, seriously. So, please everyone, go give Eeyah some support. Eeyah is always such an uplifting person, so please give some support back!

But moving even beyond Eeyah as a person, her writing is awesome as well! The Essay Collection is the first work I decided to read for this category, and I was impressed with the way it covered such a wide variety of topics in impactful ways, touching on things I never even knew existed. So if you're looking for an entertaining and educational experience, and you want to support a sweet author, please go check out Eeyah's work!

QuinceArchFortes with the book After the Last Petal. What a beautiful title, right? It's a short story following an infatuated King Chevalier, and let's just say a lot of drama happens from there...

You may recognize Quince from the Indie category, where I read and reviewed Fallen, which was an excellent story! If you're a fan of dark romance and smaller-scale stories where there are few locations and characters, then Fallen is perfect for you and is a breath of fresh air in the modern entertainment landscape.

Along with that, Quince is a very fun person to be around who is uplifting to the writers all around Wattpad. You'd have to be crazy to think of Quince as anything other than supportive. So, Quince, thank you for all you've done for the community, and for being here with another entry!

taekookiecookie with the book Our Beloved Summer.  Do y'all think the story is gonna be about summer? Maybe? Maybe not? Hmm, let's find out...

Fun fact: Her legal name is Taekookiecookie!

(kidding... kind of)

Taekookiecookie has been a friend of mine for a while now, and her and I have the real sh*t: shared trauma. So we in this sh*t for life.

But that aside, Taekookiecookie is a BTS fanfic writer focusing primarily on Taekook and exploring unique topics, such as mental health (and unique topics within the mental health umbrella), through storytelling.

You may recognize Taekookiecookie from the Padauk Awards as the person who took home second place in the Best Plot category with her book Beyond the grave. I highly recommend checking that one out! Thanks for signing up, Taekookiecookie (but fr it is your legal name...).

~End~
