Chapter 06

In the dark hours of the morning, the heavens continued to cry.

Aaliyah gazed into the hand held mirror as she applied the salve onto the wound on her cheek, using the fingers of her other hand. When the Empress had scraped her with her nail, her nail had been thickly layered in mana. Even though it had looked like an ordinary scrape, it truly hadn't been. It really would had left a scar on her face, if Jason hadn't tended her immediately.

A wound caused by strong mana like this that had been fueled with a bit of hate would had usually taken at least two weeks to heal which included using the salve that had been concocted mana filled herbs.

But three days had passed since Aaliyah had been gifted this scrape by the Empress and it was almost entirely healed. Unless one looked very closely, they wouldn't notice the presence of the faint healing tissue on her cheek.

As for her injured knees, they had been completely healed after a good night of sleep.

This was it. This was evidence that she really inherited her father's inner physique. But Aaliyah knew that her healing process hadn't been like this in the past. She would had noticed her injuries healing at this rate, but they hadn't been. If they had, she would had long known that she was similar to the late Viscount in that aspect. But she couldn't cross out the fact of her adapting to eating small portions of food that could full her. She didn't even get all of the nutrients she had needed when she had eaten.

If it was any other child, the child would had been greatly malnourished, greatly sick or even possibly dead.

'Since I am still growing, it could be that I am in the process of developing such an inner physique. The adaption of my body was the first sign. And the current healing rate of my wounds is the second sign.' She concluded in her mind. Aaliyah pondered about if her injuries would vanish in a flash like her how grandmother and the books that described it, when her father had received one somewhere down in the future.

Possessing a body like that would be helpful to her. But then her thoughts came to a sudden halt. 'Wait, does that mean I wasn't born with magic and definitely won't be able to use it since I don't have it?'

Julian had been someone extremely rare. While everyone was born with some mana within them no matter how small the amount, her father had been born with no mana. But in exchange for that, he had an extremely strong durable body that rarely got ill and could practically heal itself of a critical wound in the blink of an eye.

Aaliyah was somewhat perplexed. Magical creatures usually didn't like to interact with people who have mana but couldn't utilize magic, let alone someone who possessed no mana. They only loved to be around people with flowing with magical talent.

She glanced at the series of books that had been stacked on the drawer at her side. They were basically encyclopedias on different magical beings, even of those that no longer existed.

That voice in her head that she had heard yesterday, Aaliyah was sure that the voice had belonged to some type of magical creature.

The seven year old sighed, resting the hand-held mirror on top of the encyclopedias, finished with applying salve to her scrape.

She then started to re-pack some of her belongings she had taken out of her luggage, putting them back in.

Even though the sun hadn't risen up yet, the day was the day that she was going to be working in the second prince's palace.

Once she was done, it really dawned on her even though she had already known that she was going to be the personal maid and companion of Claude de Alger Obelia. The man who had mercilessly killed his daughter after he had neglected her all her life. No matter how attractive he was, Aaliyah didn't know how to exactly feel about it, since there would be daddy-daughter moments with the body of the daughter (even though it was a younger version of it with another soul inside.). That had been one of the many reasons, she had procrastinated with reading the manhwa in her past life.

She had even heard her friend sobbed about how he had tried to kill her -the transmigrator- even after they had gotten close and bonded.

"Daughter of criminal! I wish she and all her family were executed like they should have been!!"

"A child bares the parents' sins! It was your femme fatale mother who seduced my son!!"

"....do not forget the sins they still ... you still carry."

'Well, this Claude de Alger Obelia hasn't committed the sins of his previous incarnations.' Aaliyah thought. She wasn't going to condemn him. He was still a child who hadn't done any wrongdoings.

If the second prince allowed her to stay by his side even with the short-comings he would experience because of her, she would do her absolute best in her duties of being his personal maid and companion. She would endeavor to etch out the best life she could for him and maybe if they were close enough in the future, she could respectfully give him little pieces of advice on parenthood.

Suddenly, the pitter-and-pattering of the rain became harder, splattering on the closed glass windows of the infirmary due to the strong.

Her attention now to watching the water droplets collect more and droplets as they easily slide down the window, Aaliyah muttered. "... It has being raining from yesterday. In the next two hours the rain should cease."

From since her previous life, Aaliyah she had always been on spot when it came to the weather. Even yesterday she had predicted it and by some impulse, she had forewarned the first prince.

When Aaliyah was going to depart from meeting Anastacius, she abruptly stopped in place and turned around. "Your highness." She called out.

"Is something the matter?" He knew she was suppose to be heading back. Anastacius had decided to stay behind for a short while to study the roses. They had mysteriously bloomed, after all.

She knew that even though there wasn't a single cloud in the sky, that sky would soon morph into an azure to a gray body, and it would be raining heavily soon. "... be careful of the weather." Those words slipped out of her mouth without thought.

Twelve minutes later to be exact, on that day, it had been raining and still was raining cats and dogs. And it had stopped in two hours like Aaliyah had foretold.
