"This is wonderful!"
Jin stood up, shaking both their
hands after they came back the next day.
"So when do we sign the paperwork-
"Forget the paperwork."
He interrupted Jungkook.
"So can we see the room?"
Eileen asked with a warm smile.
"Of course!"
Jungkook and Eileen both stood up, ready to go downstairs for a tour.
"But first.. we have to go over
some important rules."
He said, making them sit again.
"Sure."
Jungkook replied, listening carefully.
"No visitors allowed in the house."
He read with a stern voice.
"Not even parents?"
She asked, but received a shaking head.
"You will be given keys to the basement
through the back door. You may not
enter through my section of the house."
They both nodded, as that was a reasonable one. I don't think anyone would want someone rummaging through their personal things.
"You must attend the weekly
community gatherings."
"What are those for?"
"You'll see when you get to attend one."
He grinned.
"Ahem."
He cleared his throat.
"The most important one."
They both leaned in, curious to know what he would categorize as the most important rule.
"Everyone must be asleep by midnight."
"Perfect!"
Jungkook smiled, ignoring the irritating rules, and focused on the positive side of things. They didn't have to pay eight hundred dollars a month for a place to sleep. Eileen kept quiet. She didn't know whether she liked this idea or not. They were trusting a complete stranger, but Jungkook didn't seem to mind at all.
"Are you ready to see your room?"
He asked Eileen and Jungkook.
On their way to the basement, Jin pulled Jungkook aside for a quick chat.
"Is your friend okay?"
He asked with a concerned look on his face.
"Yeah."
Jungkook chuckled.
"She's just stressed about moving, that's all."
They finished their short conversation and joined Eileen at the black door. Jin shuffled through his pockets, pulling out the rusted key to the door.
"Here we go."
Jin raised his brows, building up the anticipation. He unlocked the door with a 'click' and twisted the dark doorknob.
They walked down the wooden stairs, trying to feel their way down instead of using their vision, since there was no light at all. Jin ran over to the light switch, flipping it on.
"What do you think?"
He asked with a jolly smile.
"Wow."
Jungkook gazed around the room.
It was spotless, almost as if everything was perfect. The vintage decorations complimented the whole room, making it very comfortable to stay in.
"It's beautiful, did you do this Mr Kim?"
Eileen asked, fascinated by the work done.
"The boy who lives next door did all of this. He knew how much I wanted this to work, so he offered to do it for free. Let me tell you, that boy is an odd one, but he sure does have a unique sense of fashion." Jin explained, sipping out of his glass.
"Thank you so much for all of this! You
really did the most to make us feel welcome."
Jungkook quickly thanked him.
"Of course."
Jin smiled.
"You two should really get some rest.
You've got a big day ahead of you."
He looked at his watch and back at them.
They looked at each other in a playful manner.
"You heard him Jungkook. It's your bed time."
She ruffled his hair.
Jin laughed along with them, before saying goodnight to the two.
"You too."
Jungkook responded, waving goodbye.
"What time is it anyways?"
Eileen asked, looking around
the room for some sort of clock.
Jungkook helped her look, but shrugged his shoulders when he didn't find one.
"Don't worry about it, I'll ask
him for one in the morning."
They walked over to their separate beds. Eileen wrapped herself with the white bed sheets, while Jungkook flipped the light switch off.
"Hey, Jungkook?"
She whispered.
"Hey, Eileen?"
He mimicked her.
"I'm being serious you idiot."
She threw a pillow at his head.
"What is it?"
He asked while getting rid of his laughter.
"Is it just me or is the landlord kind of creepy?"
She asked, hoping he'd say the same thing.
"Oh cmon Eileen, the guys'
just being nice, give him a break."
Jungkook muttered before yawning.
"Goodnight Ellie."
"Goodnight Kookie."
