i tap the nails on my left hand. they're dry. i click back to the picture to see exactly where the chips are.

i scratch the chips into my nails. then i leave my computer with my phone and dig a tan bra out of my drawer. i put it on and go to my bathroom mirror. i take danny's picture and upload it to my computer. i open photoshop.

i put the two pictures side by side on photoshop and morph my boobs until they look like hers. i smooth my pimpled skin and turn the tiles on my shower wall from yellow to blue. i send one to danny and one to tyler.

the next day at school, i pass katie in the hallway and she is smirking like she won something. i wave at her and she looks at the chipped nail polish on our hands with horror on her face.

all day people ask if it was really me. maybe it was, i tell them. because what is a woman beyond a pair of boobs and a handful of chipped nails? what does it matter if they were mine? they are the same as anyone else's are.
