Previously on Chapter 11

"Hey, it's okay. You're not alone, Y/N" Lucas said. "Yeah... you have us..." Dustin said. Will and Mike nods their head. "They're right, Y/N. You're one of us now..." Will said. They smile at me.

Y/N P.O.V

I take a seat next to Mike as I watch the boys play D&D. Mike looks so focus as he narrates the plot. His eyebrows slightly scrunched together as he utters every words.

"It's the Thessalhydra!" Mike said, slamming the figurine of the said monster. "Told ya" Lucas said, triumphantly. "Will, your action!" Mike said. Will looks around for advice on what he should do.

"Fire hall the son of bitch!" Dustin said. Will starts to shake the dice and rolls it. "14!!" Will cheers. They start to celebrate their victory. But in the end, they started arguing that the campaign was too short and that it didn't make any sense.

Mike turns to look at me. "You should join the next campaign, Y/N..." he said. The other boys nods their heads. "Wait... but I don't have a character though" I said. Mike grins and takes out a deck of card. "Oh... I think I know, just the perfect role for you..." he said. "Oh yeah? What role am I?" I said. He takes out a card and push it in front of me.

"The protector?" I said, in a questioning tone. I turn to look at Mike. He grins and nods his head. "You've always been protecting us. Despite not knowing us personally. You're always there when we're in some sort of trouble. So... you should be our protector..." he said. The other boys grins and nod their heads in agreement.

"Yes! That's the perfect role for you, Y/N!" Dustin said. Lucas and Will grins at me. I look at them back and forth and turn to look at Mike. He's looking at me with a hopeful look. "So... Y/N L/N. Do you accept your role?" He said. He stands up and holds up an imaginary sword.

"I accept" I said, I kneel down and he pretends to place the swords on my shoulder. "Congratulation young Y/N. You are now Y/N, the Protector!" He said. The other boys starts to cheer happily. I let out a laugh. Mike pulls me into a hug. He picks me up and twirls me around, making me squeal.

He place me back to my feet. The other boys hugs me too, giving me a group hug. "Congratulation for the role, Y/N. The Protector" Lucas said, winking at me. They pull away from the hug. Mike still have his arm around my shoulder. I grin at Lucas, while hugging Mike's torso.

The door to the basement opens to reveal Jonathan. "Ugh... what's that smell? Did you guys spent hours in here or someone's farting?" He said. "Oh that's just Dustin. He farted..." Lucas said. I let out a laugh at what he said. "The real culprit is the one throwing hands" I said, earning a glare from him. I look away from him, trying to hold myself from laughing.

"By the way, Jonathan. Say hello to the newest addition. Y/N, The Protector" Mike said, wrapping an arm around my shoulder. "Oh really... I can see why she's the protector. She did always seem to keep you guys out of trouble" Jonathan said. I let out a giggle, nodding my head.

He smiles at me. "Well anyway. Will... let's get going. Mom's waiting for us" he said. Will turns to look at us. "I'll get going now guys. Bye!" He said. He gives each of us a quick hug. He turns around and walks away with Jonathan.

I turn to Mike and smile. "My mom will be out of town for a while..." I said. "You can spend some time with us" he said. I smile and nod my head. "Yeah... I'd like that... a lot" I said. He smiles and wraps his arms around me. I smile softly and hugs her back. I glance at the fort where El used to be according to Mike. Oh how I wish she's here... everything would be perfect.

Now it's time for everyone to open their gifts. Mike hands me a small box. "Here... I made it myself. I hope you like it..." he said. "Thank you, Mike..." I said. I slowly open the lid.

(This is actually mine. I made it myself. Do you like it? I can do a lot of other patterns. It's very easy to make)

"Oh, Mike... it looks so cute. You made this?" I said, turning to look at him. He smiles shyly and rub his neck nervously. "Yeah... it took a while and a lot of getting the thread all tangled up. But I finally get it done. So do you... like it?" He said. I place a soft kiss on his cheek. "I love it, Mike... thank you..." I said. He blushes and grins at me.

He takes it out of the box and gently grab my hand. He slips it on my ring finger. "Wow... how did you even know my ring size?" I said. "Lucky guess?" He said, which sounded more like a question than a statement. I let out a giggle at his respond.

"Soo..." Nancy said. We turn our heads to look at her. "What?" I said. "Are you two... you know... dating?" She said, with a smirk. Mike and I blush deep shade of red.

"Are you and Jonathan?" I said, giving her a taste of her own medicine. Her eyes widened and her cheeks starts to turn pink. "W-What are y-you talking a-a-about?" She said, nervously. Mike and I look at each other and burst out laughing. Nancy rolls her eyes and pouts.

Time-skip

After exchanging gifts. We have dinner. They have cake, which Mike take some cream in his hand and smear it all over my face. I let out a gasp at his action.

"Mike!!" I yelled. He sticks his tongue out at me and runs off. "I'm going to get you!" I yelled. He lets out a laugh. He runs out of the house and I chase after him. I outstretch my hand. A portal appear in front of him and one in front of me. He runs through and ended up in front of me.

He blinks in surprise when he saw me right in front of him. He turns around just in time to see the portal closing. "Hey! That's cheating!" He said. "Oh? I don't know we have rules" I said, sticking my tongue out at him. "Why you-" he said. I let out a shriek and turn around, running.

He tackles me to the ground, making us burst out laughing. He's the one on top of me. My hands on his chest as I try to stop laughing. He leans down, placing his forehead against mine. He gently move my hair away from my face. He leans down and place a soft kiss on my lips. I gently run my hand through his hair, as I kiss him back.
