Chapter 29: Finding My Way
The lights were very dim but the flashing lights were brighter as the loud music could be heard even from two blocks away. The place was a little smaller than that of Seoul's clubs, but it was still big for a club.
That was what Jungkook had thought as they arrived at the club that they had all decided to go to in Daegu. After talking and cuddling with Hobi, he and the other members had rested the whole day until it was near sunset.
They had all dressed up enough for a club but less than the last time, as they hadn't wanted to spend that much time choosing their outfits again.
Unlike the last time, Jungkook was now more aware of the atmosphere and vibe in a club so he wasn't as clueless. He wouldn't lie, he did enjoy going to clubs. They were fun if you went with the right people, but they were also very crowded. He guessed he would be the one to go only here and then.
It had been a month since they had last gone, which wasn't that long ago but wasn't recent either. However, this time he really needed to drink and let loose, and so did the others.
They'd all decided that they wouldn't party as hard in there like they had the first time they'd taken Jungkook, but just enough to let loose. So you could say they weren't going to get overly drunk at the club, but that didn't mean they couldn't get drunk somewhere else...
"Woah, this place is nice. You know places huh, Yoongs? Is this where you and Namjoon would sometimes come and rap when visiting Daegu?" Jin asked as they walked into the club after having their ID checked by the security.
"Wait? You guys rapped here? People go up on stage and sing here too?" Jungkook asked as the music got louder as they walked in further.
"Yup! Seoul has a place for that, it's huge and amazing, but they were closed due to remodeling but yes, besides clubbing and hitting the dance floor, people sing and rap here too," Namjoon answered as they found a sitting area that fit all seven of them.
"Cool," Jungkook said sitting down.
"Yoongi has taken part in some competitions here too and he has beaten many rappers, even some who can be considered underground. However, they don't always have rap battles. I'm not sure if they will tonight," Namjoon added.
"I hope they do! That way you three could go up and outrap people!" Jimin said as he pointed to Yoongi, Namjoon, and Hobi, who were letting the waiter know what drinks they wanted.
"Ooh I'd like to see that too!" Tae said as he combed his hair a little with his fingers.
"Well, if they have some battles today then I think we could go up there and do some rapping. Even if there is no battle, I think we could go do something, right guys?" Hobi asked the other two who nodded.
"Sure!" Yoongi shrugged.
"Anyways, do you feel less awkward and strange now Jungkookie?" Hobi asked as they got their drinks.
"Hmm, still a little weird but I don't feel as strange as I did last time! I think I'll start feeling more comfortable every time I come!" Jungkook replied as he sipped on his cocktail.
He made a face as the bitterness hit his tongue, but it still felt good. "I just want to let go of everything tonight, even if we get less crazy than last time. I want to forget and put my family issues to the side. I want to feel free and happy like how a 21 year old should feel!" He said, taking another shot of his cocktail.
They smiled, as that was what they had wanted to hear. For him to want to live life being a 21 year old. To see that he wanted to let loose and have fun.
They loved seeing him happy and having fun.
"Alright then! Let's do just that!" Yoongi said bringing his drink up and having the others clink their glasses together and finish their glass in one shot.
"Well, since we have some alcohol in our system now, let's go have some fun and dance!" Jin said, standing up and pulling Jungkook up after him too.
"Oooh, looks like we don't need to pull Jungkookie to the dance floor this time! He's doing it on his own will! Great! Let's go guys!" Taehyung said happily, getting up and dragging Jungkook with him.
This time all of them followed each other onto the dance floor and began dancing to the song that was playing.
Like usual, Hobi and Jimin started a crowd thing at some point by having people watch them take the center of the dance floor as they each killed it.
He loved seeing people react to them and get blown away by their talent. He knew that his hyungs needed their talent to be shown and acknowledged everywhere.
Somewhere in between, the older two grabbed Jungkook to dance with them. The crowd cheered even louder.
So, just like the first time Jungkook forgot all of his worries and let himself and his body roll with the vibe and music. It felt so good, and what better way than to be surrounded by people he has started to become close with.
_____________________
It had been three hours in the club, and the boys had mainly partied the whole time rather than just drinking. However, they were getting slightly tired and had gone back to their seats.
"I'm so tired now, but I'm still energetic...I wanted people to hear us rap, but I don't think I can anymore!" Yoongi sat down as he panted from dancing too much.
Jungkook chuckled.
"Same here! However, that was fun!" Jin says as sips the beer he ordered on the way, the rest ask for one more drink and water as they felt thirsty.
"Ohh! You know what we can do?" Hobi asked out of nowhere, putting his drink down.
"Hmm?" They all said as they looked at him.
"I know the reason we came was to have some fun and drink our stress and problems away, but there's two of us who always have to be less sober to drive us home. But, I thought, why don't we get all drunk together by going home and making our own mini party or club, just us! We can pick some snacks and alcohol and have fun!" He introduced the idea with such enthusiasm as the others listened, thinking about the suggestion.
"I like it! I was one of those to be somewhat sober tonight, but I really want to get drunk tonight so I say we do it!" Jimin agrees to it happily and waits for the others opinion.
"I don't see why we can't get wasted as much as we each want so yeah, it'll be fun too!" Namjoon says.
Jungkook only nods as he agrees to it. He didn't mind either. Taehyung too. All that was left was Yoongi.
"I mean, I remember my parents saying we could do small parties as long as we didn't have the volume up, so why not? Let's get out of here, get some snacks and drinks and go to our temporary place!" Yoongi agrees as they all smile.
Jungkook watched each of them drink what was left of their own drinks before asking for the bill. He had already finished his so he just waited. He was feeling a little tipsy, he won't lie, and he knows he will most likely have a huge hangover tomorrow, but he didn't care because at that moment he didn't feel any worries.
When the bill had arrived, Jungkook immediately took it. He wanted to pay. The others had already been paying for him every time they had gone out to drink or eat, so he wanted to invite them this time. As a way of thanking them for everything. It wasn't much, but it was something.
"You didn't have to pay kookie..." Jin says as he looks at the bill. Jungkook shakes his head.
"Nonsense. You guys forget that I'm wealthy too...I mean I don't get why my dad doesn't stop sending funds into my account, but it's nothing. You guys always treat me, so now it's my turn!" Jungkook said, taking out his wallet and leaving a few bills. "Hmm you are so sweet Jungkookie!" Hobi said, hugging him. They could all tell that Hobi was the most tipsy out of all of them.
"Let's go!" Jungkook says after counting the cash. The others nod as they excitedly leave the club and head to where they parked the car. They each got in quickly and drove to the closest convenience store near the house.
They had bought more alcohol, and some snacks as well as some medication for the next day. They know they would really need it. They then went back to the mini van and drove him where they immediately put the Bluetooth speaker on and started pouring out drinks.
"Let's get this started!" Hobi puts his beer up in the air as he puts on music from the speaker they had. The guys cheered as they also put their beers up and began dancing and letting loose.
They started having drinks after drinks and dancing to the music they had on.
Jungkook smiled seeing his hyungs having fun and instantly got an idea. He took out his phone and started recording the others dancing and being just as drunk as he was. He laughed as he filmed every one of them.
Jimin, Jin, and Tae were all having a blast dancing freely. While Yoongi, Namjoon, and Hobi were singing their hearts out to the songs that played.
"Ooo filming like a music video kookie? Let me have my shining moment," Tae says as he starts to make gestures towards Jungkook's phone.
Jungkook giggles seeing the older one act as if he was truly in a music video. "My turn!" Jin says as he slightly pushes Taehyung out of the way.
"This beauty, this face is what you want to capture Jungkookie!" Jin touches his face as he puts himself in front and begins to send kisses to it. Taehyung shaking his head after being pushed out of the camera.
He suddenly gets an idea the moment he sees the pillow from the couch. Mischievously he goes in and hits Jin with it. The other was shocked by the hit. Taehyung immediately started laughing, Jungkook started laughing too, their faces and expressions were fun to see.
"You wanna play that game huh? Wanna play Kim Taehyung? Fine, let's play!" Jin says and takes the biggest pillow he sees and goes for Taehyung, but the younger male is quick and ducked. The pillow hit Jimin who was sipping on his drink when the hit of the pillow made him spill some of his drink.
Taehyung laughed when he saw who it hit, Jin covered his mouth as Jungkook gaped. Jimin looked at him with a scary gaze.
"I was trying to hit! Not you! I didn't mean to hit you!" Jin puts a pillow in front of him as his defense in case the other tries to get him back.
"Ah really? You didn't mean to hyung?" Jimin asked, tilting his head and approaching Seokjin who was walking backwards to avoid the younger male getting closer.
"Yes! Yes I promise-" he gets interrupted by the pillow hitting his mouth. Jimin smiled, pleased with what he had done as the youngest two laughed.
"Oh so that's the game you all want to play? Alright then let's do this!" Jin begins to attack Jimin with his pillow. Taehyung joined in.
The three of them kept hitting each other until they accidentally hit Yoongi and Hobi. They all stayed standing still. They weren't going to lie that they were starting to feel a little scared seeing the way the other two got serious.
They saw them take the pillows with that blank face. "We didn't mean to either!" They all said as they hid between each other. But unlike Jimin who waited a little, the other two immediately started hitting them all. At some point, they got Namjoon as well and even Jungkook had gotten involved.
Of course, the man put the phone away so it wouldn't break. In the end, they all started a pillow fight with each other. Hitting one another slightly hard but not enough to hurt them. Though you couldn't really get fully hurt with pillows.
They all laughed as they kept hitting each other. Not caring about the mess they were making, all they cared about was getting each other back and being the young males that they were.
They had ended up chasing each other around the house at the bottom floor and somehow ended up by the pool. Hitting each other with not just pillows but some non-alcoholic drinks too.
"We can't be using the drinks this way guys! Maybe we should stop! I'm getting tired!" Jin says, stopping near the edge of the pool as he breathed in. He was smiling very hard but he was starting to feel tired. However, as he quickly glanced to the side he felt two people push him to the pool as he lost his balance.
Taehyung and Jungkook laughing as they had been the ones to push Jin in. Everyone laughed and asked if the older one was ok.
Jin came out of the water shaking his head and opening his eyes. He then immediately grabbed Jungkooks leg who also ended up falling in the pool. Jin laughed this time and tried getting Taehyung but got Jimin again.
With that, they all ended up in the pool too. Laughing all together, very drunk and wet, but feeling alive and carefree. It was one of their most fun nights yet.
_____________________________
It had been 3 days since their wild night and to say that the boys felt awful the next day would have been an understatement. They all had woken up with pounding headaches and huge fatigues, some of them even throwing up the moment they woke up.
That day they all decided to stay in and try to cure their hangover and clean the house which they had made a mess of with the water and pillow fight. Though since it was seven of them, they all were able to clean everything in three hours and then continue to rest and watch movies together or any shows.
Late that night when they had felt better, they decided to take the music equipment out and continue the recording of Baepsae. They were able to get a lot done that night, and are close to finishing it.
It had been a chilled and proactive day. The days after they had visited Yoongis and some of Taes old schools and places they both liked. They were overall having some fun.
Now they were about to arrive at Yoongi's original home and have some food with his family. His brother was also going to be present as he wanted to see his younger brother and see the others while also wanting to meet Jungkook.
"Hope you don't feel as nervous this time kookie," Namjoon asked the boy who was the one to drive this time.
"No...I'm not as nervous anymore because hyungs parents are good ones. I'm a little nervous for his brother, but I'm sure it will go just as smoothly as it went with them," Jungkook replies as he makes a turn to the street where the parents lived.
"My brother is more softer than me in some sense. Well no, but he looks less intimidating. I'm sure you and him will get along kookie!" Yoongi who was sitting in the passenger seat says as he shows Jungkook where the house was.
"We are here everybody!" Yoongi says taking off his seatbelt at the same time as the others. They walked out the van and locked it.
The house was about the same size as the one they were staying at and it looked modern but it still had some classic look to it that made it look welcoming and warm.
The boys walked to the door and rang the doorbell. They waited as Yoongi's mom happily opened the door.
"Boys you all made it! Great! Your brother is here already helping your dad out in the garden honey!" Yoongi's mom says as she hugs her youngest. She then gestures to the others to get in, "Come in boys!" She says.
The boys bow as they come in. Jungkook looks in and immediately sees pictures of what looks to be Yoongi and his brother together when they are young on the wall. A few pictures of them individually too.
He looks to see a picture of the family together smiling. He smiles, he could tell it was a picture from a while ago, but they look content and happy. He smiles, not putting more thought into it as they walk towards the backyard of the house.
As they walk in they see Yoongi's dad cooking on a grill some meat while what seemed to be Yoongi's brother was making some ramen on a portable cooker next to the grill.
"Boys! Welcome! It's good to see you again," Mr. Min greets them after hearing the noises of the shoes heading to the area.
Yoongi's brother looks up and smiles instantly as he puts the lid on the ramen pot. "Hey guys! Long time no see," Yoongi's brother starts walking to them.
He goes and greets them.
"Oh new face! You must be Jungkook-ssi, right?" His brother looks at Jungkook who nods and bows.
"Yes, that's me! Nice to meet you!" Jungkook steps in a little. Yoongis brother bows back.
"I'm Min Geumjae! Min Yoongi's older brother! Wow, you look so young, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you?" The brother asks.
"I'm 21!" Jungkook says with a smile.
"Wow, no way! You are very young! Well it's nice meeting you Jungkook-ssi! Please call me hyung! Please go sit guys! We have almost all the food ready!" Geumjae gestures as they nod sitting down.
"The backyard looks very pretty Mr. Min, I like how much greener and lively you guys have made it to be!" Jimin comments as he looks around and takes in the scenery of the place.
"Hmm, we've been able to get more with our restaurants this time so we've been able to innovate the house a little more!" Mr. Min responded.
"Okay here are some cups for the drinks, and we shall soon be done with the meat! I hope you like meat Jungkookie because we made a lot..." Mrs. Min says as she puts the cups in each seat.
"I love meat actually! It's one of my favorite things to eat! I like all food in general actually," Jungkook replies, seeing the woman smile at him.
"Is that really? Hmm I wish my boys were like that, but they are a little picky!" Mrs. Min comments.
"You must have made your parents feel very satisfied then. All parents love to see their child eat well!" Geumjae says, the other freezing at the comment.
Jungkook instantly notices everybody freezing at the comment of his parents. He wishes they didn't. Yes, it's a very sore subject right now, but he doesn't blame anybody who doesn't know him to assume that he has a bad relationship with his parents. It's not their fault. So it wasn't Yoongi's brother's fault, he didn't know.
Jungkook was sure Yoongi forgot to tell him. He understood why and he appreciated the fact that they all tried to avoid it for him, but it was okay.
"What? Did I say something wrong? If I did, I'm sorry!" Geumjae says as he watches everybody freeze after he speaks.
"It's just that, I forgot to tell you it's my fault. Jungkook and his parents don't really have a go-" Yoongi starts blaming himself but is interrupted by the younger one.
"It's okay hyung. It's neither his fault or yours. You can't be telling everyone about my situation. It's okay that he didn't know. I don't mind," Jungkook looks at them with sincere eyes.
"Wait, was what I said bad? Did I hit a sore subject? If so, I'm so sorry Jungkook-ssi. Already I'm off to a bad start huh?" Yoongi's brother frowns as Jungkook shakes his head
"No, please don't apologize. You didn't know. It's okay. I don't want you guys to feel sorry for something that isn't your fault. It's true that right now speaking about my parents is a sore topic for me, but it's okay if you guys are curious. There's some on the surface level stuff I can answer with no issues, really. It's okay, I appreciate you guys thinking of me, but really. I need to learn to deal with it," Jungkook tells Yoongi's parents and his brother who nod understanding the situation.
"To reply to your comment. I can say that at least my grandma was very happy whenever I ate a lot. She felt content seeing me eat, she always liked making a lot of food for me," he smiled to show that he is all good and that they didn't need to worry.
They smile.
"Next time I at least know what not to bring up. I'm glad you had someone happy to see you eat," Yoongi's brother says and Jungkook nods.
"I bet my parents will have a good time seeing you eat a lot kookie. They already love seeing Jin eat a lot. Now with the two of us eating a lot? Happy day for you guys huh?" Yoongi points to his parents who nod as they all laugh.
"We feel content when we see kookie eat too. He has such an appetite! He's young though so he's understandable," Hobi pats his shoulder as Jungkook smiles.
"Well I hope it's true, here's the meat, the kimchi, some side dishes and the drinks! Let's begin to dig in!" Yoongi's mom says as he pats Namjoons shoulder and they all begin to eat the good meal.
"Here honey, have some more," Yoongi's mom says as she puts some dishes on Jungkooks plate. He smiles as he thanks her. The meat was very tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. It seemed that Yoongi's parents really knew how to cook. He was always told how the Mins food was always one of the best in Daegu and he can see why.
"This is very delicious!" Jin says as he eats more too. In all, all seven of them actually ate more than usual. The food the Mins had prepared was that good.
As they all ate, they had some light and fun conversations as they asked the boys how they were doing in detail and also asked Jungkook some non personal questions too.
"It's good to see that you all ate and that Jungkookie truly loves up to being one to eat lots of! It does make one feel good!" Yoongi's dad says as he sees everybody's plates licked clean.
"You guys cooked that well!" Jimin compliments.
"I'm stuffed, the food was so good! Thank you guys!" Jungkook thanked them, patting his stomach
"You're welcome! We know that it was very sudden of us to tell Yoongi that we wanted to see you guys, but we know how hard you guys have been working at school, so we wanted to do something nice! We also wanted to meet the new famous Jungkookie who is a delight! I hope we've made good impressions for you Jungkookie! May we call you that?" Yoongis mom asks.
"Yes of course, I don't mind," he smiles. It's only been two meetings, but he can say that Yoongi's family was very accepting and warm. He wonders what it took to be that way. He knows Yoongis has told him that it was rough at first, but he wonders how they got through it all.
"We don't mind! It had been a while since we saw you all! So it was good to know you wanted to see us. Plus, I'm sure you made a good impression on our young one!" Taehyung replies.
"You guys did! Actually, I was very nervous that you wouldn't have a good impression of me. It's no secret that I didn't get along with them a few months ago. I can also see why I didn't, I know they say that it was a mutual fault, or more theirs than mine, but still, I was nervous. I hope that I was the one who made a good impression on you! I hadn't met any friend's parents in my whole life until now, so I didn't know how to act either," Jungkook admits shyly, as he crossed his arms.
"You haven't ever really met someone else's parents before jungkook?" Yoongi's brother asks as the boy shakes his head.
"Nope, I unfortunately haven't," Jungkook replies.
"We told him there's no need to be ashamed about it. Kookie here has had a rough social life," Hobi puts his arm around him.
"I wasn't really the kid anyone liked to hang with ever since I was small. I have no idea why, so I never really made friends where I went over to play. I usually always just played by myself or with my older sister," he adds a little more, not minding to speak about it. He realizes then that he doesn't feel as hurt to say some of this.
"Kids are mean in general! I don't know how no one could want to be your friend! But we are glad we could be the first parents you meet from a friend. You've made a good impression on us Jungkookie, you don't have to worry about that, we would know and show signs of we didn't like you! But we do! You're such a cute handsome young thing!" Yoongi's mom boosts as she makes the younger one turn red.
"It's true. Hey, we all don't get along at the start with people, but at some point you do and they end up becoming the most important people in your life that care for you and you for them, you guys are young too, so it's natural. Don't worry Jungkook-ah, we all have our own struggles and reasons," Yoongi's dad adds to the comment.
"Also, Yoongi never really said anything bad about you, just that you didn't get along until now. What we've heard about you besides Yoongi is only what we've heard from your dad," Yoongi dad brings up as Jungkook looks up at him. He wondered and was scared for a moment what he would say.
"I know you don't like to talk about family much, but your dad has said some good things about you. How you have a good heart, and are very hardworking! I can see what he means," Yoongi's dad smiled as Jungkook only nodded, not knowing what to say to that.
He'd known his dad had talked about him briefly to his colleagues, but he'd always thought he would've just said something small about him, nothing that really showed his qualities, so to know that he said he'd been a hard-working and good-hearted person made him feel shocked.
He partly doesn't believe his dad says those words with meaning, but another part of him thinks that maybe he did. He doesn't know.
"I hope we can see more of you Jungkook-ah. I hope you and them end up friends for a long time!" Yoongi's brother smiles and Jungkook keeps that smile because he hopes that too.
______________
Night had come and everyone had talked about a variety of topics, had dessert and were currently playing some games with Yoongi's family. Except Jungkook who felt like seeing the stars that were shining beautifully across the dark sky. The view from Yoongi's parents' place was very nice.
He looked up smiling, feeling some comfort from the shining stars. He then thinks about his grandma who is watching him up there. Waiting for him to become the man she wanted him to be, which is him. To be himself. He thinks he's on the pathway for sure, but he still has a long way to go for he still has doubts. He still feels very weird being himself.
But little by little he hopes to feel comfortable. He's trying. He is. Even if it's very hard. He sighs as he looks at the city. He then starts thinking about his mom and dad. Starts wondering if he will ever get his dad to change his mind about his path and what he wants. Wonders if he could ever get back that fatherly bond that he remembered having with him as a child.
He can't help but wonder how things would have turned out if Kyungmi never left. Wondered why his dad had to lie to him and hide things from him. He didn't get it. He also didn't get his mom. He was currently still having mixed feelings about her.
At first, it was all negative emotions that he was feeling, but now, he doesn't know. He's still hurt, he still feels betrayed and abandoned in some sense, because it's hard to wrap around the fact that she's the person who left, but at the same time, he knows she's had some reasons, but he doesn't know anymore if they are good enough. But he can't help but crave for her warmth and wonder if it's good if he gives her a chance or not.
"What's got you thinking so hard? I hope nothing bad!" Yoongi says as he goes and sits next to him. Distracting him from his current thoughts.
"No, I was just looking at the stars and the city. Daegu is very pretty at night. The fresh air feels nice as well!" Jungkook replies as he goes back to look up at the sky.
Yoongi looks up as well.
"I always loved coming here at night and just write or feel more calm by the sight of the stars and moons," Yoongi says as he keeps looking up at Jungkook.
"You sure you've been feeling okay, kookie? Have you felt you've had fun here so far? I know we've only been here for only four days, but I just hope you are feeling a little better and cleared out with your feelings and thoughts," Yoongi asked tentatively as Jungkook looked at him and then gave a small smile before sighing.
"These days have been the best actually. I've been able to have fun, be happy, and be able to clear my mind away from Seoul," a slight breeze passes through their hair.
"I definitely needed it! However, I kind of wish I didn't have my parental situation in the back of my head. It's the main thing I think about when I'm alone or when I'm about to sleep. Just trying to sort out my emotions and what I feel towards her and him," he sighs as he looks at the city view with all the lights.
"Hyung," Jungkook calls out. The other nods as he turns his head towards him.
"How long did it take for you and your father to get along that well again? What did it take for him to accept your career and who you are?" The boy asks with innocent eyes that show how he craves—desires for his dad to accept his career path and just get along the way Yoongi and his father do.
"Well, I won't say it was a very easy process, even after he accepted it, it was still hard for him to agree to what I chose. It's just barely now that he's finally okay with what I want and like. We also talked a lot...there was a point when we couldn't talk to each other like you and your dad, but one day enough ended up being enough. I asked him why he was so against it and why couldn't he just be happy for me? I asked why he didn't believe in me, because it felt like he didn't believe in me," Yoongi explains remembering the memory.
"He ended up telling me that it wasn't like that. That he was just scared for me and that it didn't have anything to do with how good enough I was because he knew I was good enough. He just said that the music world is scary and cruel, and that he didn't want me to be in such a place because he didn't want me to have a bad mental state again,in other words, he was afraid that this industry would somehow take me to my old ways, which is what he didn't want, so he was looking out for me, I suppose," Yoongi questions a little at the end as he puts his hands inside his sweater pockets.
"I understood him, the music world is scary and dark, but aren't all industries or fields the same? They all have their twisted consequences, so I told him not to worry because I was stronger now. We ended up basically talking and sharing our points of view, and our feelings. It was a deep talk, but it was needed. We hadn't had one in such a long time and rarely do, but it was needed. He agreed at the end to try for me, but that it would be hard, but he did try. So, I don't know if I really answered your question but....I guess talk to your dad koo," Yoongi looks at Jungkook who looks at him back with soft eyes.
"There must be a reason as to why your dad is so against you learning music or pursuing something in the music field. Talk to him, and get things settled and clear. It will be hard, and maybe it won't resolve everything, but it's worth a try. Get him to speak to you," Yoongi continues.
"I remember that Professor Jang had briefly told us once that your dad and her didn't end up getting along until they were partnered together, and saw how similar they were in their likeness for music and other things," Yoongi brings up as Jungkook nods remembering her saying something to him about it too.
"So, your dad didn't always hate music if he was in music class and liked music. I don't think he started to hate it for no reason, there must be something behind it,"
"Huh, you are right. But do you think just talking could help? I feel like our bond has been very distant for a long time now," Jungkook frowns.
"It could, sometimes talking helps a lot. I guess you won't know until you try. Just try to talk to him when you can to get answers and to understand him. You both need to understand each other, then after that, you just have to hope for the best. I mean I'm sure your dad loves you in some way, I'm sure he always has even if he hasn't shown it, you never know," Yoongi puts a hand on Jungkook's shoulder and gently squeezes it.
The younger one looks down, hoping it's true. He guesses his dad did love him, but he didn't know to what extent, he stopped doing so a while ago.
"I hope he does. I keep hoping that this will all be fixed no matter how much time passes but sometimes I'm scared it won't because I miss him. I don't just miss my mom, I miss my dad too. Every time I wake up in the morning after a dream or memory, I can't help but feel nostalgic. I just want him to say he's proud, that he gets me, that he's sorry, I want the man who once gave me love and affection, but sometimes I feel that's long gone," he frowned. Yet little did he know how much his dad truly loved him.
"You can't give up yet kookie, try one more time, and if it doesn't work then...it will be hard and sad but you will still have another family there to love you. Like your sister, I'm sure she loves you a lot despite the ups and downs, and ... if you decide to forgive her, keep her in your life...your mom too," Yoongi carefully said as to not trigger him.
"If I decide to keep her in my life like you said, and forgive her..." Jungkook looks down, sighing.
"Do you?"
He looks at Yoongi thinking and pauses before nodding.
"I—I think I do but I'm not sure. Who am I kidding...I do...I do want her in my life, I always have...but I'm still hurt. I still need to clear my mind more...but I do.." he admitted. He did want her to be in his life and knew that no matter what he truly decided she still would be in some way by just working in the same place he studied.
But he was scared that he would accept her and she'd leave again or lie to him. Though a part of him told him that she would, she had promised him she wouldn't, but he still wasn't sure.
"I even think I've somewhat forgiven her for leaving me when I was little, I think I settled that a while ago before I even knew. However, I have yet to forgive her for keeping things from me, it's just. It's so much harder to forget than forgive," he says as Yoongi nods.
"That's very true, I can't deny that. Well, then know one more thing," Yoongi says in a serious tone and Jungkook lifts his head as he waits.
"Maybe at some point, you can find a family by being with us," Yoongi smiles at him. It was no lie that the six of them saw each other as brothers, family. However, Jungkook didn't know when they would consider him a family too and they didn't know when Jungkook could think of them as such. They knew it was only a short time that they'd been friends, but they were already just as close as any other long-term friendship.
"I think I'm already starting to find my way. I wonder if you guys could ever find one within me too," Jungkook smiles back. Yoongi puts his arm around him.
"I think we are on the way too," Yoongi replied softly and they both chuckled. They stayed there for another couple of minutes, staring at the stars and the lights of the city together.
