Chapter 2 Josh

I slapped down the only cash i had on me and left the bar. I didn't really want the alcohol i was just hoping to cheese off my dad when he smelled it on my breath. That's why i was wearing a tank, shorts and flip flops. The girl that had gotten under my skin had just been practice for my dad.

He was getting ready for me to help him with the company. He had hoped to leave it to me. I mean who wouldn't want to run a multi billion dollar company? Don't get me wrong i had nothing against making money. But i didn't really wanna work for my dad and working for him wasn't really my idea of fun. I was hoping he'd cut me loose.

I used my key to enter my room. I had my own room with connecting door to my fathers. He knocked when he saw me come in. "Son i need you to...what are you wearing?" He frowned. "Oh you mean this? Eh i thought i would go check out the pool later." I said. "That's not funny, get changed you know why you're here." He said sternly. He set a packet of papers on the bed. "I need you to go to Pier 21 and drop off these papers to Mr Goodhill to sign. We have a meeting with him tonight at the lions den. Daniel has already set up the back room for us." He said. "Sure thing, i'll get right on it." I said gritting my teeth.

With that he was gone. I put on some clean pants and a button up shirt. I fixed my hair and put on some cologne. I grabbed the packet and headed back out to the bar. Hoping i wouldn't run into that rude waitress again. But as i scanned the area looking for Mr. Goodhill i didn't see her." Although she would be hard to miss. The poor uniform was so short and her legs were so long. The shirt was far to small and she had undone a few buttons undoubtedly earning her lots of tips. The girl was hot. And just the kind of thing my dad would hate. But i'd put that thought aside for later.

Mr. Goodhill waved me over. "Josh it's good to see you." He said. "You too sir. My dad asked me to give you these papers to sign." I said. "Oh good, i'm so excited to get out on the water in my new baby. I'm thinking i'll name her Candice. What do you think?" He asked referring to the Yacht he had just purchased from my dad. "Candice sounds lovely sir." I said. "Good, good." He said pulling the papers out and looking them over. "Everything here looks in order." He said pulling a gold pen from his pocket.

"I'll get these signed up and bring them to dinner tonight, looking forward to it. My brother in in the market for a new yacht himself. He will be joining us." "Sounds good sir. I'll let you finish signing those papers and i'll see you tonight." I said. "Bye son." He waved.

My dad was a good businessman it's how he made all of his money. He left my mom years ago struggling to make ends meet. She worked at a diner and barely paid the bills every month. That's why i worked for my dad on and off. To help her. She refused child support and i get summers with the old man. I still left from time to time to see my mom because i missed her. She was good. One of the best people i knew and didn't deserve what my dad did to her.

And women want one thing from him. His money. My dad wasn't a bad looking guy i suppose but he was in his sixties. I headed back to the room. We still had about an hour until dinner. When i pushed my door open there on the bed was my dads girlfriend.

She was 23, she had enjoyed my dad's money via plastic surgery. "Hey sugar." She said. "Candy what are you doing here?" I asked. "Well looking for you silly." She said standing up and walking over to me. "Why? I thought i made it clear i didn't like you or trust you." I said. "Don't be silly. I've been checking you out." She said. I'm sorry what? She slipped her hands under her shirt. "Oh how i've missed abs. You're so hot. Look your father doesn't have to know about this. And i'll get him to lay off you this summer." She said. I pulled her hand from under my shirt. "No thanks. I'll pass." I said. There was a knock on the door and my dad walked in.

"Hey son did you get the papers to Mr. Goodhill?" He asked. I nodded. "Oh there you are Candy. I was just looking for you. I'm so glad you two are getting closer. I so hoped you would." She grinned. "Don't worry honey pretty soon we'll be even closer." She said taking his arm and leading him from the room. But not before she turned around and winked at me. Gross. I mean look i guess she was okay looking and it would really tick of my dad but even i didn't have it in me.

Once sitting in the back room of the lions den we waited for the waiter to come take our drink orders.  I saw a girl coming into the room. She walked over to my side. Because my dad and Mr Goodhill were talking about the new boat. I looked up into her eyes. It was the waitress from the bar. "What are you doing here?" I hissed. "Did you listen to anything i said earlier? I'm a floater. The usual waitress had to take the night off." She said.

"Is that also her dress?" I smirked. "No another girls why? You gonna rag me about how this one doesn't fit too?" She asked. I leaned back looking her up and down. That dress was doing things for her. "Maybe." I winked. She rolled her eyes. "What can i get you? A beer maybe?" She asked. "Only if you put in a silly straw." I said. She fought back a smile at my joke.

"No seriously, i'll take a sweet tea." I said. She nodded walking around to get the other orders. Once she had left the guy next to me hit my arm. "She is a fine little thing isn't she?" He asked. "Oh, uh i guess so..." I wasn't sure how to respond to that. "Sorry, i'm Charlie Goodhill. I'm here to talk about buying a boat from your old man." He said. "Oh, that's great sir." I nodded.

The waitress came back dropping off the drinks. She handed me a kid's menu with some crayons. "Cute." I said smirking. Charlie was looking at pictures of speed boats. "This one looks fast, hey sugar what's your name?" Charlie asked her. "Ah Bailey." She said. "I think i'll name her Bailey." He slid the brochure back to my dad. "Wonderful. I always pictured you as a sailboat kinda guy though." My dad said slapping him on the arm. "Maybe after the speedboat i need one of those too! You can never have to many boats i always say." Said charlie.

She left to give us a minute to look at the menus. I discreetly colored the kids menu and wrote my phone number at the top. I don't know why i just felt the need. I slipped it under the table. Bailey came back to take our orders. I got steak. The men around ordered various fancy foods and drinks. The meal was on my father so i guess i would too!

"Hey wait a minute. Everytime i go to Pier 21, why is it always you that serves me?" He asked. "Because the other girls don't want to put up with you." She said shrugging. "And you do?" I asked. "Do i look scared of you?" She asked putting her hands on her hips. Dang. I scanned her body grinning. "No, i suppose not." I grinned.

When we were done eating i left the coloring sheet on the table with my name and number an a hundred dollar tip. That should cover tips for the seven drinks. Or however many i had ordered. Did i think she would call me? No probably not but something inside of me told me to leave my number so i did.

I got a text later that night. "Nice picture, you have a real talent." She said. I chuckled. "I didn't think you'd text me." I said. "Well i'm just full of surprises." She said. "I see that." I said. We talked a bit more and i had to head to sleep because my dad wanted me pimping yatch and boat brochures early in the morning.
