XVI Part 1 -- Different
It was a bright summer day. In a Japanese garden, there were four children playing by the pond.
"Woah..." One of the children exclaimed. She was 12 years old and had a white hair reaching her shoulders that had red streaks. Her eyes were grey. They were looking at her younger brother, whose hands froze the pond.
"Cool..." The other boy also felt amazed looking at his brother. He was oldest among them and had a messy red hair. He had turquoise eyes like his father.
The boy who froze the pond felt pride and smiled with dignity. He was younger than his sister and had a spiky white hair. He also had grey eyes like his mother and sister.
"The fish..." The last one who spoke was the youngest of them all, a little girl at the age of four. Her long pale blue hair was cut short to her shoulders, and her golden eyes were looking at the fish frozen in the pond.
"Oh..." The white haired boy noticed. "S-Sorry, I forgot the fish."
"I'll take care of it." The red haired boy stated, and touched the frozen pond.
A warm smoke appeared as his hands melted the ice and the pond went back to its normal temperature. The fish swam again.
"Yay!" The pale blue haired girl cheered happily, making the siblings smile. "You're so cool!"
"Not as cool as Aoi" The white-haired girl said.
"Wait, aren't I the coolest? I can freeze anything!" The white-haired boy complained.
"No, no. Aoi has the strongest quirk, which means she's the coolest." His sister explained.
"How unfair! I am the coolest." The boy pouted.
"Natsu-kun can be the coolest." Aoi smiled warmly. The boy's expression changed immediately.
Todoroki Natsuo stood up and punched the air, giving the coolest pose he knew. "I am the coolest!"
"If you're the coolest then that means I'm hotter than you." The red-haired boy smiled while crossing his arms.
"Great! Then we're a pair Touya-nii!" The white-haired boy told his brother. He gave him a high-five in which his brother accepted.
"I don't think both of you could defeat Aoi in a fight though." Their sister stated.
"Eh?" Aoi's eyes widen. "But I don't like fighting."
"We won't fight you, Aoi. It's really bad for guys to pick on little girls." The red haired boy said. "But, I think we would defeat her though."
"No way. Aoi is too strong. She's even practicing something about her Quirk, right?" The sister stated.
"Ah Fuyumi-neechan!--It was a secret!" Aoi exclaimed.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. My tongue slipped." The white haired girl covered her mouth.
"What is it?"
"Oh, a secret?"
But it was too late, the boys of their small group already grew curious. So Aoi stood up straight, and closed her eyes. The leaves of the tree above them swirled as the wind blew by. She spread her arms and the wind blew stronger.
The other children focused their attention on her.
She focused on the wind around her and as she opened her eyes, the wind started carrying her body off the ground.
Three pair of eyes went round. Aoi's body flew up. She felt so happy when the three siblings praised her. Although she was still having trouble with the balance, she flew around the garden two feet above the ground.
While flying around, Aoi noticed a figure. It was looking at them through the balcony of the Japanese house. When she saw two colors in his hair, she immediately knew who he was.
"Shou-kun!" She exclaimed, and waved her hand at him.
Shouto's eyes widen. Then Aoi flew higher.
"A-Aoi! It's dangerous!" Fuyumi panicked. She was alright to let the little girl fly around but she was flying too high. If she loses her balance, she would break her bones.
"Wh-what are you doing?" Shouto exclaimed as Aoi flew above him.
"Flying?" Aoi tilted her head. "I've been practicing for-aahh!"
The wind suddenly blew, and Aoi lost her balance. She fell down and Shouto reached out his arms.
With a loud thud, Shouto's back hit the balcony floor. He groaned.
"S-Shou-kun, are you okay?" Aoi asked while ontop of Shouto.
"Yeah...You really need to be careful."
"I'm sorry. I need more practice."
Aoi buried her face in Shouto's chest.

AOI
My eyes opened to reveal a familiar white ceiling. I held my head, recalling back what I just saw.
It wasn't a dream, was it?
It was my memories. But why did it stop?
"I need a break after all. You don't have idea how tiring it is to arrange all the bits and pieces." I heard a voice whining beside me. I looked at the source and saw a black-haired young male with silver eyes reminding you of the moon.
Right, Shin is helping me get my memories back.
"Since we're having a break. Let's break our fast. You haven't eaten anything for four days." He stated as he pulled me up. "Can you stand?"
I tried standing up but I felt my legs feeling light and hard to control.
"I'll bring the food here instead. You'll stay here, okay?" Shin stated. I nodded and he left the room.
Somehow, I felt like Shin was different. Or was he really bossy in the first place?
Well. I won't get anything by thinking about it.
I looked around the white room. It reminds me of the room the girl used to have. The room I was imprisoned in. The lady didn't come back, even though she was the one who took me away from the room.
But I wasn't feeling bad about it. I got to see the world, and I met a lot of new people. I got a family.
I met Shou-kun.
I tried standing up again but it was useless. Then an idea struck my head.
I shut my eyes and focused. Then I vividly imagined the air around me moving. My arms spread as I commanded the wind to carry me.
If I have my Quirk right now, I could fly. If I could focus enough.
The door opened. Did I do it?
"What are you doing?" I saw Shin standing at the door while holding a tray. And he saw me with my arms open like an idiot.
"I...ahh" Then I heard a grumble in my stomach. He stifled a laugh. I felt my face heat up in embarrassment.
"Your Quirk will come back eventually, don't worry." He stated with a smile as he sat on the bed. He brought a tray of pancakes and two cups of milk.
"It would be more convenient if it comes back soon." I pouted.
He placed it on the bed and we started eating together. The pancakes was so delicious, as expected of Shin. It was so delicious that I finished it immediately.
After eating, Shin lifted up the tray with empty utensils, and went out of the room. My stomach felt so full and satisfied. I lay down my bed and looked outside the closed window. It was still raining, and the sky looked gloomy.
Somehow, the rain reminded me of that snowy night. When I met Shou-kun. I raised my hand towards the window.
When will my Quirk come back? Why did it disappear in the first place?
I heard Shin's footsteps as he entered my room again. I looked at him as he sat on my bed and held my hand.
I guess it's time.
I closed my eyes. Then he pecked my lips softly.

"Wheeeeeeeeeeee~!" a little girl named Aoi squealed in delight. She was practicing ice skating. It was weird that even though it's Summer Season, there was a frozen ground in front of an abandoned temple. But it would make sense if Aoi's playmate can freeze anything with his right side.
Since it was Shouto's break time in training, they decided to play here. This was the place they first met. It wasn't far from the residential area and no other people come in this place. And Shouto decided to let her see what he had learn during the training, which was freezing the ground with his right foot.
They were not alone though. Shouto's mother, Rei, was watching over the kids. Specifically, watching over Aoi. She was just staring at her. Her pale blue hair looked like thin clouds in the sky, not fiery red. And her eyes were like the morning sun, not turquoise blue filled with anger. She was different from the rest in the house. Seeing her makes her calm. Rei also froze the middle of their shoe soles to resemble ice skating shoes to help them play.
When the two children finally got used to skating, they played tag. At first, they were even but then Shouto got more skillful and Aoi could not catch him anymore.
"Gotcha-"Aoi reached out her hand to tap Shouto's back, but he twisted his body and dodged, so Aoi lost her balance.
"Whaa-!" She landed on the ground face first.
Shouto laughed so hard. He knows that he shouldn't laugh but she was just too cute. Aoi felt embarrassed and angry at the same time that she started chasing him again.
The two of them enjoyed too much that they didn't realize the time. Enji, Shouto's father, got furious when they got home. Shouto was immediately dragged to the training room, and Aoi was locked in the room as a punishment.
When the evening came, Rei visited Aoi to bring her food. She asked about Shouto and she replied that he was still training with his father.
"Why does Shou-kun have to go training? Why can't he play with me all day?"
"Shouto needs to train because he is going to become a hero someday." Rei replied in a gentle voice.
"Why do heroes need training?"
"Heroes need training to become stronger."
"Why do they need to be strong?"
Rei smiled wryly. "They need to be strong in order to protect the people who need them. They will fight villains and save people and they need training to do that. Once they train they will be strong enough."
"But fighting is bad."
"Fighting is indeed bad but if the heroes won't fight. The villains would hurt people and children. They would hurt Aoi. You don't want that, right?"
"But if Shou-kun becomes a hero, Shou-kun will fight the villains. Shou-kun would get hurt."
"That's why Shou-kun is training to prepare himself for the villains, right?"
"But who would protect Shou-kun?"
Aoi pouted and looked down. Rei placed her hand gently ontop of Aoi's head and patted her gently.
"Don't worry okay? Shouto is trying his best so that he can protect Aoi. Aoi is such a good child after all."
Aoi looked up at Rei. Her golden eyes glimmered in hope, making Rei smile.
"Aoi is such a good child. So kind-hearted. Aoi is very different from them. Aoi doesn't look like him."
"Rei...san?"
"Oh, that was nothing. Now please eat your food. Shouto would feel sad if you won't eat."
So Aoi ate her supper obediently and stayed inside the room. She read the books, and waited. When Shouto finally finished his training for the day, he went to the room.
"Shou-kun!" Aoi cheerfully stated and hugged him. Shouto groaned in pain.
"O-oh, I'm sorry, is Shou-kun hurt?"
"I-I'm fine Aoi. I just need to rest." The futon was already prepared and Shouto lay down. Aoi lay down on the futon beside Shouto as well, but she felt worried at Shouto. He looked really tired. She didn't know what to do. She wanted Shouto to smile so she stood up.
"A-Aoi? What are you doing?" Shouto asked when Aoi went inside his futon. Then she hugged Shouto as gentle as possible and buried her face in his chest.
"Shou-kun is tired. So I will give my energy to Shou-kun." Aoi stated. Shouto's mismatched eyes, opened wide. Even though Aoi can heal herself, she could not heal others nor give energy. But somehow the gesture made Shouto chuckle.
Aoi looked up and saw him smiling.
"Thank you Aoi." He stated, hugging her back.

Despite the summer season, the night felt oddly cold. It made Aoi shiver so her hand sleepily searched for human warmth. She was still closing her eyes and felt very sleepy as she was trying to find her best friend and hug him. Her hand didn't felt anyone so she might've went back to her own futon. She opened her eyes halfway and looked around.
"Shou....kun?" She looked around but he wasn't there. She was still in his futon and the door was slightly slid open. She sat up and rubbed her sleepy eyes.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!"
