LII -- Asahi

AOI
PRESENT TIME

It's the same dream again.

My body was moving on its own, crouching down and picking up wild flowers in the garden.

"Asahi!"

My head turned on its own, then the scenery changed. I was at a place that seemed like a school. A guy with pale mist blue hair and mist blue eyes grabbed my arms and pushed me to the wall.

"Don't..! Don't do this!" He screamed at me. He screamed so loudly that my eyes shut closed.

When my eyes opened on its own, the scene changed once again. In front of me were two picture frame of two different people. A man with blue hair and brown eyes, and a woman with silver hair and blue eyes.

I felt tears rolling down my face. I covered my mouth and to cover those loud sobs.

A pair of arms held me from behind and embraced me

My legs lost its strength and I fell down to the ground, hearing a different voice from my mouth and screaming in pain.

"Silence."

My head looked up and the scenery was different once again.

There stood a man with black hair and silver eyes. I could feel my body tremble in fear.

He grabbed my hand as he yanked me up to my feet. Then his eyes widen.

Those silver eyes looked at me (her), with intense anger.

"You..."

"How dare you?"

He pushed me down the ground. That was when I saw the unsheathed sword he was holding at his right hand.

"No..!" My lips pleaded. My right hand reached out while my left covered my belly.

But this body that I'm inside of receive a painful response.

I witnessed four of my fingers sliced off like soft butter.

Blood spurted out as my throat screamed in pain. A golden light quickly enveloped my right hand.

My body curled down defensively, with my arms hugging my belly.

Then he grabbed my golden colored hair, and pulled my head up with it.

I felt the cold blade against my throat, piercing me painfully slow.

My eyes stared at him hard, looking intensely at his moonlight eyes.

"You can't kill me."

He didn't.

But he yanked both of my arms and sliced them off cleanly, before stabbing my belly.

Jun... I'm so sorry.

A female voice echoed in my mind as I saw the man walking out of the room.

I should've listen to you.

My body was covered in golden light as my consciousness succumbed to the light's warmth.

It's all my fault

Everything faded out to black.

When I opened my eyes, I saw the familiar wooden ceiling.

Is this another dream? Or reality?

I held a lock of my hair and moved it close to my face for me to see it. It was pale mist blue.

My hand slumped down as I sighed in relief. I'm in reality right now. Thank goodness.

When I felt the weight off of my chest, I finally noticed the guy sharing the same futon as me. I lay down at my side to face him.

His head was resting on his arm while sleeping with his body facing at me. I reached out to his head and gently patted his hair to lessen its messiness. Then my eyes shifted on his scar. I placed my hand on his cheek, while gently caressing my thumb on his scar.

I can easily remove this scar. He's already handsome and he would look stunning without it. But I know he doesn't want to.

Shouto chose me. Who would've thought this day would come?

Shin may have thought about it. But I certainly gave up on this hope.

My eyes landed on his lips.

It was so soft and warm. Tasting it felt like every bit of me is on fire, but I like it. I want it.

However, the last time we kissed didn't go so well.

The feeling he gave me made me remember her memory and her experiences.

Once again, I've felt my heart constricting.

Where is that sword? I need that sword. I need to calm down.

I sat up and my eyes wandered around the room. I saw it just beside the door.

"...Aoi..?"

I felt his hand holding my arm. My head turned to him.

"Shou-kun, you're awake?" I asked him.

"Are you okay..?"

"..Huh?"

"You look frightened. Did you have another nightmare?"

I was afraid to answer his question, but my silence was enough response for him.

Shou-kun pulled me down, swiftly yet gently, back to lie down.

"I'm f-fine..." He ignored my plea and continued to wrap his arms around my waist, pulling me close against his chest.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Our heartbeats felt so in sync that I could hear them together.

"Relax. I'm here."

Just like magic, I've finally calmed down.

I closed my eyes as I snuggled against his chest.

I wish this would last forever.

But it can't

Because he might leave me.

In the end, I still can't get rid of this anxiety of him leaving me.
