Ready To Help
Something the staff realized quickly was how busy Yagi was. He always helped people as if it was expected of him. The first thing the staff noticed after that was how amazing Yagi's reflexes were. It was as if he knew where the objects were all of the time. The third thing they noticed was how easily he transitioned into his slot. He was fluent in American English, knew plenty about Support items, and was oddly knowledgeable about hero laws, especially the ones that All Might had helped pass that made Pro Heroes feel safer and be treated like a human.
Yamada had convinced Yagi to come to his class and speak English with the students. It went well, leaving the students more confident in their skills. Power Loader wanted to see how Yagi would be able to help. The lab went well until half of the special support items blew up. No one had been injured due to Yagi's reaction speed. He would be teaching a class with the retiring teacher to make sure the transition was smooth. He brought a unique angle that spoke of experience to the course. Aizawa didn't quite understand why Yagi had to help him occasionally but he was thankful that Yagi was talented at controlling the students. He would patrol all through the evening, night, and most of the morning. Not to mention that his phone would buzz more than most of the staff had seen.
"It's actually a light week for him." Recovery Girl stated over lunch. Yagi was clearly tired and frustrated with the person on the other side of the phone. "Toshi, eat."
Toshi started to eat even as the teachers all heard muffled yelling from the phone.
"I already told you that I will not be doing that. If we help raise awareness to... Listen, it doesn't..." Toshi just sighed. Recovery Girl snatched the phone out of his hands.
"I'm sorry but you'll have to call back later. He hasn't had time to sleep much less to be going to that stupid Gala just so that he gets mocked. Have a good day!" She hung up, handing the phone back to him.
"Eat what's on your plate than we are heading to the hospital wing and you are going to sleep."
"But I already slept!"
"When's the last time?"
"What day is it?"
"Thursday."
I slept on Monday the eleventh, so I'm still good!" Silence.
"It's Thursday, the twenty second."
"Oh... Oops?" He shrugged before finishing his meal under the watchful eyes of Recovery Girl. She just couldn't stand the fact that he had managed to help most of the staff while neglecting his needs. A few of the teachers were planning on how to help Yagi drop. A lot of gifts were left at his desk: blankets, stuffed animals, fidget toys, and toys. They denied it when Yagi asked but they took delight in the happy surprise that he always showed. It was also a little sad.
He was tired but working through it. Ryo just picked him up the moment he had finished eating and started to walk to the hospital wing, Recovery Girl following after. Ryo took the longest route, rubbing Yagi's back and swaying gently. Yagi fell asleep before they had walked more than five minutes.
"Can you make sure he stays asleep in the teacher's Lounge? His favorite green blanket and the Care Bear that you got him are in there." She continued to walk away, Ryo already on his way to the lounge. Yagi sleep peacefully, watched over by different teachers. When it was time for him to teach the intro to hero ethics, Aizawa was chosen to wake the Little that UA had practically adopted. Aizawa ended up with an armful of Yagi that he was taking to the ethics classroom. Yagi was just to darn cute. He made sure Yagi was in the class room before returning to the lounge.
"That was a first. Usually he is instantly awake," Nezu's tone reflecting both amusement and satisfaction. "Could someone call Might Productions to remind them that Yagi is to have a reduced workload along with All Might?"
Thirteen agreed to do so. Midnight was speaking to Yamada in the corner, obviously having found out something their whispers stopped when anyone got within earshot.
"I'm telling you, his quirk is called Enhancement. That's what the card says!"
"Don't joke about this, Yamada. If it is enhancement then he could be any pro. He has a right to privacy!"
"I'm not. Honestly! I also saw All Might talking with different students. I swear they are so similar..."
An hour later, All Might was introduced. Many of the teachers liked him as a hero but had believed him to be arrogant and selfish. Meeting the man in person was different than they had expected. The man truly looked uncomfortable and was extremely careful whenever he was holding something. He was careful, respectful of boundaries. He never asked any questions, sipping his tea happily. Aizawa couldn't stand it because although All Might was smiling, the eyes were not. Every time he was berated, he seemed to take it hard, making sure not to repeat the mistake. It felt as if All Might was much more fragile than they could have ever prepared for. At least 50 years of experience, overworked and isolated in a way no one else would ever be like. A lot of people blamed All Might as if he was the problem.
All might took all the insults and anger, allowed the rant to come to a natural pause after a few hours before being able to replying any sense.
"I'm sorry that there was a miscommunication or confusion regarding that. How can I help to make the situation clearer?" He was patient even as the teachers vented onto him. Aizawa noticed that the look in the number one hero's eyes was resigned, as if this was a common occurrence. His smile and calm approach seemed to defuse the tension in the room.
"How often do you even patrol, help the community, or do fundraisers anyways? We all know that you are so self centered and prideful!" A staff member from the legal department bit out. All Might finally snapped.
