Chapter 2: In Which Howl Appears To Be Once Again, Heartless.
The Period of time looked as if it were the early 1900s, yet, what the hell with the place on Earth?! And who are these people? I walked farther down the cobblestone street, barely escaping the connection of some old automobiles. They truly don't watch where they're going! I passed a small hat shop called Hatters. Quiet little shop even in this crazy town. Ignoring the strange looks at my luggage, and kept my pace- though, I didn't know where I was headed.
"The Heart Stealer Wizard, Howl?" I murmured to myself, looking at the newspaper with one hand. I read the article carefully.
The Wizard Howl, after two years, has come back to our small country in search of more beautiful women's hearts to steal in the same manner. He lures them away, and into his demonic moving castle where he eats their heart and steals their soul.
"He's truly heartless." Hobbes, manager of the orphanage on Grellen street told us. "First he takes an innocent woman as his owns for a wife, then he killed her. In a inhumane way, I heard."
"Damn." Butterflies rose in my stomach at the mention of him. Wonder what made him start doing this to begin with? I began to walk through the back alleys once again, my suitcase still rolling along behind me. I finally stopped on the sidewalk; anxiety beginning to rise up from my stomach like bile.
Where do I go from here?
I looked around more, and saw a small hotel not far from where I stood. I raced over to the door, and entered before any other strange person gave me a weird looks. The bell jingled as I stepped through the door, and a young woman popped her head up from the counter across from the door.
"Hello there! Staying the night?" She asked politely.
"Yea, how much?"
"Five coins for one night, fifteen for a week." She replied. Damn! That's a deal!! I began pulling out a few dollars from my wallet, and tried to give them to her. She stared at them and asked again to pay up, which was really weird.
"I said five coins! You know, five silver coins?" Oh. Like, not paper money. And I don't have any dimes, nickels, or quarters on me. I looked at her, a sad frown on my face.
"I'm sorry, I don't have any." I sighed, making my way towards the door once again to leave. I tossed my hair to the side while I tried to fix my dangling earring. They were crystal stars held to the clip by several pieces of copper.
"Wait!" The innkeeper stopped, staring lustfully at my earrings. "I'll let you stay one full week with those earrings. They look lovely. " I really don't want to give these up. They are my babies. But I can't very well sleep out on the street, even though this Howl person only takes beautiful women.
"Here," I handed them to the girl, grumbling, "have them." She carefully took them and showed me to my room. It overlooked the crowded streets as May Day came to a closing. I pulled the maroon curtains closed and laid on the Pre-made bed. There goes my mother's old and dusty earrings.
Soon enough, the street became quiet; seeing as now the sun had set and everything had settled down for rest. I say in my bed, reading Twilight in the candlelight. To me, the author wasted a lot of her life on a series of books that show the importance of having a flipping boyfriend. So after the first half an hour into the book, I got bored and heard the clacking of boots on the street below me.
I set down the book; cautiously making my way to the curtains. There, in the moonlight, a man seemed to skip down the streets with cane in hand; his long brown hair tied in a loose ponytail all the way to his ankles.
"Is that Howl..?" I am so confused. Magicians, warlocks, and Magic surly stirred interest in me, but it was truly confusing. He skipped a bit father before stopping at a small rickety house with faded red paint chipping off. He smirked, and raised his hands with the cane.
"Hal, Hal, Halaster!" He exclaimed loudly, and fire burst from his cane and caught the poor house on fire. Oh shit!! What if someone's in there!! I raced out of my room; pajamas on and everything. I grabbed my slip-ons quickly and raced out.
"Lord Jesus! There's a fire!!" I exclaimed, hoping someone would wake up and call the police, but no one dared to even step out of their house. Crying emulated from the licking fire, and I probably did the most stupidest thing you can do:
I entered that house.
"Hello??" I coughed.
"Is anybody there?!? Oh god, help us!" A man cried out, and I turned a corner to walk through the doorframe. There was the family of this burning home. The only thing separating us was a rift in the floor about six feet across.
"I'll get you out! Do not worry!" I assured them, looking around for something. I saw a support beam laying lazily to my left, an with all my might; kicked it again and again. It finally fell after my fifth kick. True, the family had burns on their feet, but by the time they made it out of the house, the fire department showed up.
"Thank you so much," the child cried in the woman's hands, and she cried into my pajamas as she hugged me. I couldn't help but smile.
"Well, well, lookie here at the hero~!" I turned and saw the magician that caused the fire, a flannel shirt tucked neatly into his purple pants. He bowed to me, taking his equally purple top hat off his head in the process. "We'll meet again; pretty lady." He promised as he tapped my nose lightly.
Grab the salt; he's not a magician, he's a demon in my book.
I snorted and slapped his hand away. I then proceeded to walk back to the inn and back to my room.

FINALLY!! It took so long to even think of what to do here, it was killing me!!😫
If anybody has a lot of free time on their hands, could anybody actually put Howl's Moving Castle on Wattpad? Someone had it on here, and I looked at it for reference, but they deleted it. Thus me not being able to finish this chapter as well as I hoped.
