Chapter 15: In Which a Peaceful Day Goes By
I'm gonna say this once: don't own Howl's Moving Castle! Wish to god I did! But nope.

Howl laid awake in his bed the next morning. The sounds of Amelia, her brother, and Calcifer in the kitchen below. He yawned long and heavily; as if it were to relieve him if the problems at hand.
The day's fresh. Howl thought to himself. What's one peaceful day going to hurt?
So, bouncing out of bed, he slipped on his clothes and coat before making his way to the door. He opened it to see Amelia Starr directly outside; hand raised as if to knock, and a plate of scrambled eggs and toast in the other.
"Oh! So you are up!" She grinned a white grin. "You owe me Denny!"
"WHAT?! I thought for sure I was gonna win..." He grumbled in silent anger from downstairs, and brought a smile onto the wizard's face.
"Amelia," he began as he took the plate from her. "I'd like to show you something today. A place, to be more specific. I believe you'll like it."
"A place is very specific." She rolled her eyes yet nodded all the same.

Wonder what Howl wants to show me. Maybe it's a library. *gasps*
If there's a library in this place I think I'm in heaven.
"Hey bitch," Danny greeted me once my feet landed in the polished wood. "What did Harry Potter have to say?"
"Who are you- oh. Nice play on Harry Potter, jerk. And Howl wants to show me something after noon, so I guess I'll read a book until then." I shrugged and pulled out a Sherlock Holmes book. The Baskerville Hound; ah such a lovely book to curl up on a rainy day such as today.
"Amelia Starr. Did a wizard ask you out?" Danny's eyebrows raised ridiculously with each word. I chuckled and rolled my eyes as I pulled on a white cardigan over my shirt, and braiding my poofy red hair at the time.
"No, I'm pretty sure I'd know if I was being asked out." I answered, but he shrugged dismissively and announced he and Michael were going out to get groceries. I grabbed my phone and thick book of Sherlock Holmes and sat on my bed.
As I cracked the book open, I saw Calcifer leaning over closer to the bricks of the hearth.
"Psst! Amelia! Remember that deal we had sometime ago?" He asked. Oh. Yeah. He said it would be hard get his end of the bargain. Nonetheless, I nodded at the flame. "You owe me one because I let you cook on my head. Well, I'd like to tell you what my favor is, but I can't."
"Can't? Or won't?" I questioned.
"Can't. It's like I can't even speak the sentence." He let out a little sigh; a puff of smoke leaving the opening one would call his mouth. "But I can tell you what you're doing is working. And that if you keep it up, my favor will be repaid."
Wow, so keep being myself and a demon will let me keep making breakfast on his head? Who could pass up that opportunity? I grinned and nodded vigorously before putting my mind back in the book.

Howl breathed in deeply; as if it were his first in a long time. Stepping out of his room, he raced down the hallways and stairs before calling to Amelia.
She sat up in her cozy bed under the stairs and stood up. Howl looked over her; from her dark top to her converse shoes.
"Hey," Amelia pulled him out of his daze, and caused him to look into her eyes framed by the fire of hair. "Where's that place you wanted to show me? And is it far away? I'm lazy."
"Since when is anything too far?" Howl said and let a low chuckle leave his throat at the thought of such ridiculousness. He was a wizard! Nothing was ever too far from his reach! With a moving castle and eighty-league boots, he chuckled at the word 'far'.
He stepped down the three steps to his door, and turned the knob to green.
"Oh." Amelia held the word by its end as she stared out to a shaded green forest. Yet she darted towards the window and looked out over the Waste, which was still a valley of rolling grass and lake of pure blue water. "Sometimes I remember just how amazing this house is." She laughed at herself, and the sound rang throughout the house; seeming to fill every crack.
"I do not understand how you can forget such an important piece of information." Howl replied with a slight chuckle before nudging her out the door with a hand gently placed on her lower back. A shiver was sent through his fingertips, and he tensed slightly.
"This is amazing!" She screamed to the clouds above as they moved across the blue sky. The rolling hills were a green that Amelia had never seen, and few trees dotted the landscape. "What is this place?"
"An area I spent most of my childhood." Howl smiled as she raced around in excitement before falling into her back and rolling down the hill. He laughed and joined her in the actions until they lay side by side laughing up at the strange clouds. "You can come here whenever you feel the need." Howl finished breathless.
She turned her head to him with wide eyes. A place of his childhood, and he decided to share it with her? She absolutely loved the sky above her and couldn't think of a better surprise!
He wasn't looking, but he smiled up as the wind blew strands of his raven hair into the air. She smiled too, but softer.
"Thanks. This is beautiful."

Forget the library! This is amazing! I thought as we continued to stare up and point out the strange shapes we see in the clouds.
"Pig!"
"That one looks like Calcifer," I looked over to where Howl was pointing, and watched as the whisky substance that makes clouds pulled into the tips of imaginary flames, and I laughed.
"You're totally right!" I cried as I looked. HAHAHA HE LOOKS SO ANGRY!
After my little fit of death, we stopped the game and got up from the grass. The sun was beginning to set over the treetops in the distance. Man, I never wanted this moment to end. We climbed our way back up the hill, but I felt this feeling that Howl wast behind me, and I turned my head to see back.
Sure enough, the Wizard was staring off into the west; a strange look on his face.
"Howl?" I called to him, but he didn't answer. Okay, I guess I'm coming to you. Walking back down the hill, I came to his side.
"Howl!" I said, a bit more assertive as I grabbed his hand in my own. He responded to that and he whipped his head to look down at me. His bangs hung above my nose, and tickled it.
Smiling, I tried to give him hope for the future.
"We're gonna be alright, okay?"
Yeah, I'm getting lazy, but that's alright! I'm in Atlanta with my host family and it's so H O T .
