Ivy ran all day, her muscles strained to keep her up at this point. She slid into an alley way, crawling under a garbage bin she laid down and panted to catch her breath. Her eyes darted around the area, waiting for any hostiles.
An odd smell filtered into her nose, looking towards the road her heart sunk. A man in a vest was heading for a cafe, the girl sighing before she ran from under the garbage bin. Pain shot along her spine as sandpaper grinded against her bones. The cat swiftly became a girl once again, her legs pushing her towards the man.
She tackled him into an alley, feeling the bomb on his torso. He grabbed the pins and pulled, her eyes widening before narrowing in determination. A feeling like screws scrapping into her bones and inside her skull forced a choked gasp from her throat. Large wings formed from her back, thick plating overlayed them as she wrapped herself and the bomber in a tough sphere.
The explosion went off with a loud thunderous boom, her ears ringing and her body being launched back into the wall. She let her muscles remain limp, blood flowing from her head and chest. And wherever else she can't see. Her wings formed back into her skin, her eyes staring at the relatively safe building.
The pain caught up with her, her mind slowing down to almost a standstill to prevent her mind from snapping at the sensory overload.
It caught up after a bit, her senses returning to normal. It felt like a white hot knife was pushing her shoulder blades away from her back and magma was running along her chest. She wheezed in pain, rolling over as her chest tightened. Warm liquid shot up her throat, her eyes closing as she threw up the nasty mixture of blood and stomach acid. She wiped her mouth and panted, sitting back against the wall.
Her eyes drifted closed as the sound of nearing footsteps slowed into her ears like a river despite the ringing disrupting it. An explosion itself shouldn't have caused the vomit. Opening her eyes and ignoring the people entering the alley she ripped the cloth on her torso enough to let her look at her skin. Oddly enough the fabric was still there and not burned entirely.
Her eyes widened as she saw small shards of glass and sand littering her skin. Black dots swam around her vision as her head grew heavy. Attempting to stand up she ended up being unable to balance, falling forward before she could get a hold of herself.
Pain shot along her front when someone caught her. She shakily lifted her heads to meet with blue eyes and a blond head of hair. She opened her mouth to say something but the dots grew rapidly, her control slipping through her fingers.
With a small whine from her chest she was out.
