My paws stung as I slowed to a walk, my lungs burning as air didn't seem to be enough. I kept walking, away from everyone, away from my mate. Away from myself.

I reached a river and collapsed, resting my snout in the water I drank a couple mouthfuls. I curled into my side as it grew colder, staring at my bloody paw. I growled and dug my teeth into my flesh, tugging and pulling at the skin and fur. Tears pricked at my eyes as I dug deeper, copper tasting blood hitting against my tongue and almost making me gag.

How could I do that to him?! He's my brother!

By second nature I shifted, still latched onto my bleeding wrist. I pulled away, spitting out some blood as tears slid down my face.

I cradled my injured arm and grabbed my hair, curling up and sobbing. Eventually it all just got too much and I just, screamed...

The burning tears kept me grounded as everything fell silent, my lungs ached and finally my voice broke. I looked down at my reflection, crazed eyes staring back. Snarling I flung a handful of dirt into the water, bluring and mucking up the mirror shine.

My bones cracked as I shifted back to my wolf form, easing up on my paw I headed into the river. I followed it up stream, hoping no one saw me and my pack would just move on. What pack wants to keep an alpha that hurts her own kin?

Shacking out my fur I kept walking, slowly wading through the water till it grew too deep. The icy cold bit at my injury but I pushed on, exhaustion pricking at my muscles quickly.

Hopefully I can find somewhere soon to sleep. But, I need more distance.

Eventually it grew too much and I headed for the edge of the water, clambering up the bank and into the trees. My body was shivering and I could barely stand, bones cracked and slid into place as I leaned against a tree as a human again. Sliding to the floor my lungs felt like they were on fire, my skin stabbing into me as it hit the cold night air.

Wait night? Wasn't it morning when I left???

Where did that time go? What the hell, there's NO way I've been going THAT long....

Right?
