Chapter 46

Emergency services had arrived fifteen minutes after the villains had left, and both ambulances and fire trucks had arrived. Out of the forty-one students, fifteen were unconscious and in serious condition from the villains’ gas, and eleven others had major or minor injuries. Thirteen were luckily unharmed. However, one student was missing while another students’ condition was unknown.

Of the six pro heroes, that weren’t traitors, one was in serious condition after receiving a hard blow to the head, and one had lost a lot of blood and went missing. Meanwhile, on the villain side, five were caught red-handed and were arrested, including the two traitors Kei and Koharu. The other villains had disappeared without a trace.

The summer camp everyone had been looking forward to had ended in the worst way.

Five teachers sat in the meeting room as they discussed the previously mentioned events.

“To be attacked during a training camp meant to prepare students to fight villains… We should be embarrassed by the irony.” There was a solemn air in the room as Nezu spoke. “We feared the revitalization of villains, but our understanding of it was naive. They had already started their war-- Their war to destroy hero society.”

“Even if we had understood it,” Midnight started in a serious manner for once. “Would we have been able to defend against it? With all these persistent developments unfolding one after another… Ever since All Might, most organized crime had been weeded out.”

“So we all got too complacent during peaceful times without realizing it, thinking we had time to prepare.” Present Mic pointed out whilst All Might sulked.

“I am angry from the bottom of my heart at my own cowardice.” The number one hero had lines of depression surrounding him as he thought of himself with disappointment. Whilst they were fighting desperately, I… was relaxing in the tub.”

“Having the Sports Festival right after the attack…” Snipe basically ignored him. “We can’t keep taking unyielding positions like that, like we have up until now. To have a student kidnapped is U.A.’s greatest failure. They have stolen the trust people had in us heroes along with Bakugo.”

“All the news outlets are filled with criticism of U.A. right now.” Nezu somehow managed to keep his cheery appearance despite everyone being able to tell he was completely serious. “If they were trying to get Bakugo, then it was probably because his violent side was made common knowledge at the Sports Festival. If he is won over by the villains, then it’s over for U.A. as an educational institution. That being said, we should feel lucky that Masami managed to avoid being captured seeing as we know she was also being targeted by villains.”

“Since we’re on the topic of trust, as well as Hideyoshi, there’s something I’d like to say.” Present Mic frowned. “We can conclusively say now--There’s a traitor among us, isn’t there?” The other teachers seemed to frown at the question as well. “It was already proven through Cobra and Silent Raven being traitors among the heroes at the training camp. And from what we were told, it seems as though Hideyoshi knew this information! That’s not all that’s suspicious!” The man stood up from his chair as he made wild accusations. “While I agree that Hideyoshi seems like she wouldn’t hurt a fly, and I know that she was the one that took down the two traitors in the first place, she was also hiding a quirk that none of us knew about! If there’s anybody who knows what’s going on, it would have to be her, right?!”

“Mic, stop it!” Midnight’s protective side over the girl came out. She thought of Masami like a little sister, and while she knew that something was going on, she just didn’t  want to admit it.

“How can I? Let’s clean this place up thoroughly! If Hideyoshi has information on two traitors, what’s to say she doesn’t know more?!”

“Unfortunately,” Nezu broke up the argument. “Masami still remains unconscious in the hospital, so there’s no chance of questioning her now. Though, I doubt we would be able to get much out of her seeing as she’s physically unable to tell us certain information.”

“Physically unable?” The teachers seemed to be confused.

“Due to Silent Raven’s quirk, which she ended up revealing to us in questioning, Masami no longer has the ability to speak about anything having to do with the traitors in the hero ranks.” Nezu explained with a frown. “That also means that she can’t tell anything from her time she was missing for a year when she was younger.”

“I suppose I can understand that much…” Present Mic grumbled reluctantly, but both All Might and Midnight were relieved. They were glad that there was a reason behind Masami’s secrets. “But what about her quirk?”

“I’ve actually been aware of her quirk before school started.” The principal admitted causing the others to look at him in surprise. “She came in and explained it to me, and I agreed to keep it a secret as she stated she would prefer to get through life without it as much as she could. However, there have been a few times where I’ve  encouraged her to use it just for her to get used to it. The Cavalry Battle in the Sports Festival is an example of that.”

“In the Cavalry Battle?” None of them recalled seeing her use a quirk.

“You wouldn’t have noticed,” He waved them off casually. “But that’s how she ended up getting the ten million at the last second.” Suddenly, that entire event made sense to them now. “While I think we can all agree that Masami has some sort of role in all of this, I think we can also agree that she holds no ill will towards any of us.”

“I suppose so…” Present Mic grumbled again while the others nodded.

“For now,” Nezu started on a lighter note. “What we must do as a school is guarantee the safety of the students. With the leak and other suspected leaks, there’s something I’ve been thinking about doing for a while now. That’s-- Oh?”

They all paused and looked over at All Might in confusion as his phone began to ring.

“Sorry about that,” The said man apologized as he stood up and began to walk out of the room. “I have to take this.”

The other teachers just stared at him as he apologetically left the room with different thoughts running through their minds. However, that phone call ended up being quite the vital one.
