Chapter 26

"It's finally the last battle of the UA High School Sports Festival! The top of the first years will be decided with this one match! The final, so to speak! From the Hero Course, Todoroki Shouto! Versus--Also from the Hero Course, Bakugo Katsuki! Now-- Start!" Todoroki immediately sent a large amount of ice Bakugo's way, but Bakugo just sent constant streams of explosion to block it. "Todoroki gets a blow in right away! Is he trying to avoid close combat with Bakugo? Has the winner been decided already?! What do you think, Eraser Head...? Eh? Eraser Head? Where'd you go...?"

He had left...

"He avoids going out of bounds with a wall of ice!" Present Mic let go of the topic of Eraser Head's whereabouts when Bakugo made his move against Todoroki. "Looks like fun!"

"Bastard..." Bakugo growled as explosions came out of his hands. "I'll show you what'll happen if you make a fool of me! I'll kill you! I want an indisputable first place! I can't get that even if I beat scum that underestimates me! There's no point if I can't get higher up than Deku! If you have no intention of winning, then don't stand in front of me! I would've rather fought Masami! At least she's not so much of a coward to purposely lose! Why are you standing here, damn it?!"

"Todoroki!" Midoriya yelled out from the stands as he noticed the boy hesitating. "Don't lose! Do your best!"

"That damn nerd!" Bakugo grinned as he continued with his running. He looked pleased, or as pleased as Bakugo could get, when Todoroki's flames finally came out. "Howitzer... Impact!"

"He added momentum and rotation to the huge blast he showed us in his fight with Uraraka! He was like a human projectile! It looks like Todoroki didn't fire off the huge blast he used in his match with Midoriya, but the winner is--"

"Hey..." Bakugo ran over to Todoroki who was now laying out of bounds on his ice. "Stop screwing around! Didn't I tell you that there was no point, damn it?! To get first place like this! Like this?! Like..."

He couldn't finish his sentence as Midnight used her Quirk to put him asleep.

"Todoroki is out of bounds!" She announced. "Which means, Bakugo wins!"

"And now, all of the events have been completed! The winner of this year's first year UA Sports Festival is... From Class A, Bakugo Katsuki! Now, we'll take a short break before we hold the award ceremony!"

As the match between Bakugo and Todoroki started, Aizawa was walking the hallways in an attempt to find Masami. He had noticed her paling form and hesitation on the stage before she left in a dazed way. What's more, she had yet to return to the audience stands either.

"That girl better not be sulking just because of a measly loss..." He muttered, but he honestly didn't expect her to be doing such a thing. It just didn't fit her attitude. That's why he was looking for her in the first place.

He was about to give up when he had walked through almost the entire stadium. He had to ignore all of the rumbling that was coming from the fight, but he decided to continue into one of the less used hallways. He didn't expect her to be here of all places, but it was one of the last places left to look.

He had to stop, however, when he finally found her.

"Oi, Hideyoshi..." The girl was slumped against the wall with her eyes wide open, and yet, she didn't even twitch when Aizawa had called out her name. "What the hell happened your eyes...?"

Her eyes were glazed over and had somehow become the light color of yellow.

"Oi..." He decided to shake her shoulder when she didn't respond. However, that ended up not being the best idea when her eyes ended up widening at the sudden contact, and she let out a scream as her hands went up to her head as though she were in pain. Aizawa's eyes widened even more than they already were when she fell entirely to the floor, and it appeared as though she was having a seizure as she thrashed around screaming while gripping her head. "Damn it... What the hell happened?!"

Nothing he did could stop her from screaming, so he had no choice but to call someone. Luckily, thanks to Shirokage, his injuries weren't as bad as they would have been, and his arms were already out of the casts so he could call someone. He was still bandaged from head to toe though. Unluckily, the only people he could think of that would be helpful in this situation were working in the Sports Festival.

"Damn..." He cursed once more as he dialed the number of Midnight, hoping she would answer.

"You realize that now is a bad time to be calling, right?" Midnight whispered into her phone. "If the crowd wasn't so focused on the fight, I wouldn't have been able to answer... Though, I have to ask, is that screaming that I'm hearing in the background?"

"There's something wrong with Hideyoshi," Aizawa got straight to the point. "Nothing I do will calm her down. I think somebody used their Quirk on her, and I figured your Quirk would probably work best to at least knock her out seeing as she won't let me any where near her."

"Is she injured?!"

"Not that I can see."

"I'll try to be there as soon as I can, but that will have to wait until the end of the fight," Midnight grit her teeth. "I'll have Hizashi call for a break before the awards ceremony to make time."

"I appreciate it." He hung up before turning to the screaming girl who was still thrashing. "Sorry about this..."

He wrapped her up in his in an attempt to restrict her movements as well as muffle her screams. However, he couldn't move her with the weights she had on.

"I don't even want to know how you manage to fight with those things on..."

"Masami!" Midnight exclaimed as she saw the state that the girl was in. She was still struggling in the bandage like scarf as her muffled screams resounded throughout the hallway, and tears seemed to run down her face in streams. "This is a lot worse than you made it out to be!"

"Well, how else was I supposed to describe what was going on?" Aizawa looked at the woman in irritation as she didn't hesitate to use her Quirk to make Masami fall asleep. The girl fell completely limp, and her screaming seized as Aizawa was finally able to remove his scarf.

"Anyways, Masami should be asleep for the next few hours which will hopefully give us enough time to figure out what's wrong with her and finish up the awards ceremony." Midnight explained as she went to go pick up Masami seeing as Aizawa was banned from lifting up any heavy objects by Recovery Girl. "For now, we should bring her to Recovery Girl."

"I figured," Aizawa had to sweat drop as he watched his fellow hero attempt to pick up the seemingly frail girl. "You won't be able to pick her up like that. She still has her weights on..."

"Oh..." Midnight sweat dropped as she realized that Masami had been fighting with ease with the weights on while she couldn't even lift them. "They're just in her glove and shoes, right? We can just slide them off then."

"Hopefully..."Aizawa muttered as he said slid her glove off allowing it to drop to the ground with a loud thud as it cracked the floor. Meanwhile, Midnight took off her shoes with slight difficulty.

"There!" She was finally able to pick the girl up with no difficulty. "Though, now she's a bit too light. You have been feeding her, right?"

"Of course I have," He gave her an irritated look as they began walking briskly towards where the temporary nurse's office was. "The girl eats two or three servings worth almost every night. It's more of a surprise that she's not over weight at this point. I would say that she's going to make me go broke with how much she eats, but she's the one who generally goes grocery shopping with her own money and does all the cooking. The one time I tried to give her money for the groceries ended up being the last as she refused vehemently and decided to sneak out and do the grocery shopping without my knowledge."

"That definitely sounds like something she would do..." Midnight had to sweat drop at the short story and the irritated tone that Aizawa had taken on. "What I want to know is who would do this to her..."

Aizawa could only nod as the rest of their journey to the nurse's office was filled with silence.

"Masami?" The heterochromatic boy that had won second place stared at the girl in Midnight's arms as he was walking out the door of the nurse's office after Recovery Girl had healed him. "What's wrong with her?"

'It wasn't something that happened in their fight, right?' He wasn't exactly happy with the idea that he may have hurt her.

"Don't worry about it," Aizawa told him as the group of three pushed past the girl's childhood friend.

"She's my friend." Todoroki stated with a slight glare as he walked back into the room where Midnight was laying Masami down on one of the beds. "I like to think I'm entitled to worry about her."

"She'll be-" Aizawa was cut off by Recovery Girl.

"How close are the two of you?" She asked the boy who blinked down at her in surprise.

"Our mothers were friends, so we've known each other since birth. Why do you ask?" Todoroki raised a brow at the old woman, but she ignored him as she turned to the other two adults in the room.

"From the call earlier, you said that Hideyoshi wouldn't listen to you when she was having her fit, correct?" Recovery Girl clarified as Aizawa gave a nod.

"Her eyes had also turned a shade of light yellow." He noted.

"It's possible that young Todoroki here may be able to calm her down when she wakes up if they're as close as he says," Recovery Girl explained as the three heroes looked at the boy. "Of course, that's just a theory, so I'll have to examine her more to see if there's anything I can do. But I don't see the problem with letting the boy stay as long as he's quiet."

"Even if that theory's true, Masami probably won't wake up for another--" Midnight was interrupted by a groan coming from the girl on the bed as though to prove her wrong. "... Five seconds...? This shouldn't be possible..."

And yet, here Masami was, already waking up. Her face was scrunched up in pain as her hands once again flew to her head in an attempt to quell the pain she was feeling. Both Aizawa and Midnight tried to hold her down as she began thrashing around, but, despite her size, her strength was nothing to laugh at.

"Oh dear," Was all Recovery Girl could say as the girl began screaming with her now yellow eyes on display.

"Let me go!" Masami screamed and cried as the two heroes struggled to hold her down. "I don't wanna go back! Don't make me! Please!"

"We're not making you go anywhere, sweety. We just want you to calm down, okay?" Midnight tried to assure her as she and Aizawa grit their teeth at how hard it was to hold her down.

"I think now would be a good time to test out that theory!" Aizawa's already injured arms were starting to hurt as Masami refused to stop struggling or screaming.

"What do I need to do?" Todoroki asked Recovery Girl as he finally got over his shock at seeing his friend in this state.

"I'd try and talk to her. Try anything that you think may calm her down." Recovery Girl wasn't quite sure herself. She had seen nothing like this before which is saying something considering she's seen all kinds of injuries, both mental and physical.

Todoroki gave a determined nod as he went to go stand next Masami. He tried to think of what could possibly calm her down, but only one thing came to mind. That thing happened to be a memory.

"I hope this works..." Todoroki thought back to a conversation that the two had as children and leaned down towards her face.

And kissed her.

So... If you can't tell, Todoroki has won the shipping poll. But do not worry dear readers who voted for Bakugo! For I, the terrible writer of this story, have decided to make a Bakugo version of this story as well! It would pretty much just be a rewrite, but Masami would end up with Bakugo. So, of course, some of the story will actually be very different. I'll let you guys know when it's posted!
