Chapter 6: Cant Breathe.
"AIRY—!" Liam screamed as he was dropped into the water. His cast made him unable to swim, he sunk to the bottom unable to get up again. He tried and tried, to reach the surface... terrified to die.
Amelia dove under the water to try and help Liam get to the surface. however just before she could reach him. He pulled his hand back as Everything started to fade. The world slowly turning dark before his eyes. It was petrifying. The feeling of death. It hurt too. Not being able to breath...
The drowned out yells of Scenty as she failed to save her friend rang in his ears. Her cries and pleads for him to be saved.
Liam was dead.
But then,
He was standing in a place full of colour. He gasped looking where he was not recognizing this place at all.
This place was called...
The waiting room.
Liam gasped and coughed waking up. His breathing short due to the water he had inhaled. His eyes shot open and his vision was less blurry, but that could be from adrenaline. It was annoying not being able to see properly, but he was panicking too much to care. He felt so weak yet so awake. Trying to sit up and scream but all that escaped his mouth was a panicked whisper, before being pushed down by the figure standing above him. Of course it was Airy.
Liam looked up at him. He realized his eyes weren't blurry because of the incident, no... he was crying. Tears slowly dripping down his face. He was shaking too so shaky he probably couldn't even hold a pencil without dropping it. He began having another coughing fit, as water sprayed out due to the fact he had took a large inhale of the stuff. Not too mention how uncomfortable the cold sweat was as he tried to breathe again.
Airy moved him onto his side so he wouldn't drown himself from the water inside his lungs. "You... Need to be more careful." Airy spoke, his voice was calming but it sounded panicked and concerned too. Liam slowly lifted himself. "Hey, hey... Easy." Airy Said. Making sure Liam didn't fall or collapse.
"I—I..." Liam coughed in between words. Rubbing his head. His hand that was supporting him was shaking as if there was an earthquake. "What happened...?" Liam mumbled. "Everything hurts..." He managed to get out before he erupted into another coughing fit.
"You fell... Luckily I saw you trying to swim up, you'll be fine just... Take it easy." Airy said supporting Liam before his shaky arm gave in. "Your leg is also fine. At most it's just a small fracture." Airy explained "you will still be able to walk. It should... uh... heal up in a couple weeks."
"O-oh..." Liam muttered, stumbling to his feet. "Alright..."
"Do you need anything...? Are you uh... cold? Hungry...?" Airy trailed off to Liam shaking his head.
"No, no... I'm—." Liam coughed a bit putting his hand in front of his mouth. "I'm fine. Really, I am." He took a shaky inhale before nearly tripping trying to make his way to the door. Liam had a bit of a limp, only a little though. "Why don't we start a fire...?" He turned his head towards Airy. "I need to dry out anyway."
Airy stared at Liam for a second. He stopped kneeling and walked over to Liam. "Yeah sure. We can start a fire. Come on." Airy went past Liam out the door to help Liam towards the fire pit. He assisted Liam sitting down on the log then got up to grab some wood from near the house.
Liam started coughing again. Less then before but still quite a bit. There wasn't as much water now too. The longer he was awake, the more his leg hurt. Walking on it just now didn't help, maybe he should stay off of it for a while.
He looked at the dark ashes in the pit and sighed. The smoky scent blew through the air with the slight breeze. The small blades of grass swaying in the wind in a wave like pattern. The sky was a vivid shade of orange and purple, and the sun was no longer visible past the hill. You could just barley start to make out the silhouettes of the stars as they slowly faded into view. The breeze made him feel cold, but helped him feel more collected and calm. It would've been nicer if the throbbing pain in his leg wasn't so distracting. It was silent, except for the clanking of the wood that Airy was picking up by the house.
Eventually Airy made his way back carrying a few large chunks of wood, along with a couple smaller sticks to help the fire catch on the wood easily. He placed the wood in the stone circle before grabbing a twig and turning the fire in his head on, then sticking it in to the fire in his head. Then removing the now burning twig and tossing it into the fire. He turned the fire in his head off, and waited for the wood to catch aflame.
The fire took a second to get going but it eventually got to a decent size. The orange light flickering on the grass and logs they were sitting on. And the little sparks beginning to crackle and fly in the air with the wind. The smell of the burning wood was nice, and fresh. And the heat of the fire began helping to dry Liam off immediately. It felt relieving.
Airy sat on the log opposite to Liam and watched the fire, staring off into space. Liam wanted to start a conversation, but couldn't think of what he would say. He quickly scrapped the idea and rested his elbow on his good leg, letting his face rest on his fist, leaning closer to the fire. But being careful not to catch himself on fire.
"Ill show you your surprise tomorrow." Airy blurted. Making Liam nearly jump out of his seat.
"O-oh! I nearly forgot you uhh... Were making that, haha..." Liam replied trying to recollect himself. Sitting back in the position where he was before.
"Well... I'm going t—." Airy was cut off by Liam taking a deep breath to speak.
"Hey Airy..." Liam began, his voice a little shaky. "Have I ever... uh died before?" Liam asked, immediately thinking what he said was stupid. It was just a dumb dream after all. But it was bothering him so much...
"Huh—? What...?" Airy said standing up. "What do you mean have you ever died...?" He nervously laughed. "That's not— are you okay?" He said trying to sound genuine.
"I— Know! It's stupid I just... Had a dumb dream about me dying? And I had like a cast on I think? So I sunk? And then I died and it was really weird. I drowned in like... a giant version of the bucket back at the house." Liam blurted.
"You..." Airy sat there... it seems that nearly dying triggered a memory. This wasn't good. "Oh. It was probably just a coincidence." Airy stated his voice returning to normal.
"Ah... I see." Liam muttered looking off to the side. "It's just I—."
"No... No... It's okay you don't need to explain anything. You accidentally... uh... got the bucket stuck on your head before is all. Heh... it really scared you because... b- because uh... you thought you were going to drown." Airy just lied through his teeth, praying that Liam wouldn't remember or catch on. "Was there anything else that happened?"
Liam sat up straight, trying to remember in detail. "Well... there was someone. They were a blue-ish colour. But everything was so blurry I don't remember how they look. I only know that they were calling my name? Saying they were going to help me. Who was that? Where they my friend?" Liam stammered, a bit nervous and warily uncomfortable, talking with his hands too.
Scenty.
Scenty also known as Amelia... tried to save him that day. He was remembering her.
This is bad.
"Well... I think you should sleep on it... maybe you can find out who that was?" Airy doesn't know what to do. So he changed the subject.
"I guess..." Liam mumbled.
"Well then." Airy said, helping Liam stand up. "Let's sleep on it."
They walked back into the house, Liam laid on his bed on the ground. The straw was a bit itchy, but he had gotten used to it. Liam grabbed the bucket and went outside. Pouring water over the fire, then walking back in the house. He sighed and laid down in his bed before drifting off to sleep.
The sky finally reached its deep shade of purple.
The moon visible as it peeks over the horizon.

Bryce sits next to Amelia, completely shocked from what Airy said a few hours ago. They they were under a bush staring off into the distance thinking about what Airy had said earlier. What... What now? There wasn't any words shared with in the past couple of hours. What did Airy MEAN be Liam was gone?!
This was stupid...
Bryce clenched his fists, beginning to spiral again. Amelia quickly stopped him.
"Hey..." She muttered looking up at the taller object. "You shouldn't work yourself up, it's not your fault." She lifted her hand in the air. I few pieces of grass moving with it due to the force of the slight updraft.
Bryce sighed, his hands shakily relaxing. He looked at Amelia. "I'm so so scared... I just want to... go home! And pretend this never happened." He choked out nearly crying.
"I know... I do too." Amelia admitted, looking towards Bryce. She put her hand down and then crossed her legs. "It's getting late. You should get some rest."
"I guess so..." Bryce said looking to the side before laying down in the same direction. He silently yawned, he really was tired... "Wake me up if he comes back, alright?" He said, looking back at Amelia.
"Alright..." Amelia relied, giving a thumbs up. Before laying back against the bush. The sky never really turned dark, which made it difficult to sleep. But it was fine, she was too tired to care.
Everyone in the Plane slowly got the same idea as the talking and chatting began to die down. They all found a nice place to rest and began to try and get some sleep. Their was a slight breeze which was semi new. But the sound of the grass swaying in the wind had calmed her, causing Amelia drift off to sleep.
It was time to get some rest.
