It's been a week since Winter has been taken out. Rias has helped you lay low. So you could enjoy life before something awful could potentially happen. More time with Koneko. A morning yawn and she looked over. Paint a dotted line or something. You were gone. "Baby?" She called. Looking around. Then scooting up and giving another look. "Wolfie?" She shook her head. "Jerk." She pouted and met the pillow once again.

You open the door to find her pouting in bed. "Hey... wish I was two minutes earlier. I got us two bottles of milk. I thought of you."

"Hm. I guess. Buttering me up for another killing?"

"..." Blank stare. She was right. "Can we at least get through milky and cuddles?"

"Chocolate bar and then maybe."

"Anything else Koneko? Fresh fruit? Cakey?"

"I want cakey." She chimed.

"Sorry I asked..." You mutter. "It's morning."

She pouted and her eyes glistened. "But cakey."

"Ugh. Fine. Whatever."

That was her waking up. Which was just crazy. Usually it's a little cute. Today seemed too adorable not to notice her. A sparkle in her eyes and a cute voice. It was hard to evade anything. All snuggles, kisses, and food.

(Dammit wish I had that sort of treatment.)

Though today unfortunately wasn't an all day affair of affection and goodies. It wasn't the greatest knowing your days off were work days. More like plotting for hits.  Almost perfect. Not much left. As you got dressed buttoning your shirt while sitting on the bed she hugged you. Kneeling over and kissing the front of your neck. Koneko knew what this meant.

"I didn't think for so long I would have someone handsome share the same bed as me. And the black is just so good on you." She purred.

"Why thank you. I look good for you. Primarily that is. You motivate me to keep up with it. Yeah. Won't be long now. Hope I get back what's mine. That house I can't believe I didn't even think to look for my mother's belongings. I'm such an idiot."

"Wolfie? Her belongings? Like what?"

"All that's left of her. I believe a small treasure. Either way I can't believe I'm saying this but freedom is getting closer. No terms. I'm almost a free wolf. A man too. I mean sheesh."

"Is this why you and Lightning are fighting?"

"Actually that's not a reason at all. Least on his end. My whole thing was I couldn't fit in because I wasn't like them. Well him or Father. Funny. Father is just like him. Yet he hates him. Though they are the same. I will encounter him one day. And the fate will remain the same. I will have no choice but to give the same treatment. If he didn't care about Lightning, the girls, or the twins no way he likes me. Probably off being alpha male somewhere."

"Baby stop it." She squeezed you tighter.

"Stop what?"

"I just want us. The only reason I'm okay with this is to have a better life for you. Don't go after your father."

"I won't. But if I see him, game on."

"Fine. But kiss me."

You give her a quick peck and finish with the last button. "I do believe we have business to take care of."

"Lightning and Autumn right? Those two are just toxic." She huffed.

"He spits profanity. I spit venom. He needs clarity so I'll send him."

"Poetic. I love it. But usually you do talk smooth outside when we first met."

"Not always with pleasant showers. Including putting me into a guardrail."

"Well sorry. For the dog reference..." She sighed.

"Oh well. So this is what's next. I have a hunch that I'm going to need help. As much as I'd love to demolish all of them I know realistically I can't. It makes sense. If you put it logically Lightning never saw his little brothers after that night. Then a week ago never saw his sister. You honestly think I can just kill Autumn and go after him? Something doesn't feel right. I'm going to Rias. Have no choice."

"Well I'm coming with. Let me get dressed."

"Okay. I'll wait patiently."

Rias looked at you. Then to Koneko who is curled up and laying in your lap resting. Thinking over everything you have told her about the last few weeks.

"So you want all of us to come with? I don't have any problem. We're family. Family doesn't need to be blood. Most of us either don't know our parents or they aren't even around. I see firsthand. Nether the less you want protection." She turned her attention to Koneko letting out a cute little yawn. "Tell me 'Wolfie', you're relationship is all good right?"

"You mean outside of this brutal series of bloodshed? Yes."

She grinned. "Keep treating her right. Hard for her to like boys. Any boy mind you."

"I am much aware. I want to end this soon because I don't want to keep asking all of you for help. I feel awful putting this on everyone Lady Rias. I honestly do."

"Don't. It's why I'm here. You have done enough for me by earning my trust and giving Koneko a lover. That's all that matters at hand. Though is there more gain than freedom?"

"The short answer is yes. How much? I can't figure. But can we gather everyone around before the weather hits?"

Rias looked outside. "Good catch. It will start storming this afternoon. Let's get there while we can. I will round everyone. Meet me in the living room. And," She looked at Koneko resting quite peacefully. "Kindly wake her up and get her moving?"

"Right... I'll try." Kitty no claw me. No do. Please have mercy. Don't. You saw Rias exit and your eyes are all on the neko girlfriend. "Kitty." You whispered.

"Mmmmmm." She adjusted but eyes still closed and wanted to stay motionless.

You itch behind her ears. "Oh Kitty?"

"Meooooow." Her eyes opened and her eyes gave you an annoyed blank stare. "Hi."

"Sorry. Just doing business."

"I guess." She picked herself up and sat in your lap. "Time to kiss you and get going. I love you."

"I love you too." You give her a peck and she walked out of the office. Winking before exiting. Though you had the dreadful thought hit you in your mind and stomach. Someone's going to die today. It might be me.

As much as I hate to say it, Koneko will be ending fairly soon. I'm thinking three or four chapters are left. But don't worry, no date but since this is going much bigger than I thought, a sequel will be in order. Time of date I do not know. Maybe late 2019.
