Hi there! What's your name?
*Please play the music above when instructed. It's kind of part of the story. You can read while listening or just listen than read. I don't mind either way.
For those that do read with it, this chapter was written to come in with certain parts of the song. However, my reading speed is different from yours, so above certain parts, I'll put the time in the video it should be at. Anywho-*

You walked from the RUINS reluctantly. It shuts and locks behind you. Your stomach turns a little. You've experienced it over and over. Creepy forest, branch, creepy shadow, Sans. You knew the drill. But it always got to you.
Even if you were pacifist.
As you walked on the path, you didn't even bother with the branch. You kept walking, only to see something... different.
A small set of footprints led off the path and into a different area. You decided to give Sans a rain check and went on the new path, ultimately surprised with the result of your little exploration.
There was a clearing, with a small human girl building snowmen. In front of you, a new save point appeared.
Touching the star, you heard Chara whisper in your ear, The sight of a little girl happily playing in the snow fills you with DETERMINATION. With HP fully restored, you decide to walk a little closer. She must have heard your footsteps, because she turned around to see you hiding. Giving a small smile, she waved hello from her spot.

You reluctantly stepped onto the clearing, where she stood with an ear-to-ear grin. You kindly smiled back, now curious as to where her parents are. Though when looking around, she seemed to be the only one there.
The little girl held her hand to you as she spoke sweetly, "Hi! I'm Cristle! What's your name?" You introduced herself as you shook her hand. "That's a nice name.", the girl, now known as Cristle, complimented.
She looked to the snowman and asked you shyly, "Mind if I borrow you for a second?" You give a small nod as she explains, "I need your help with my snowman. I got all the basic things, but it's missing something... special. I dunno what, but it's needed. Any ideas?"
You look at the snowman with a cocked head, just as she was doing. You got an idea and made a bow with the faded ribbon, placing it on its head. Looking at Cristle behind you, you saw what Papyrus looked like after you had once said you liked his spaghetti. To a shocking similarity actually. "Yeah! That's what it, or, she, was missing!" When you stepped back from your work, she gave you another handshake. "Thanks. I never would have thought of that."
When you returned the gesture, a vertical rectangle appeared above Cristle. Below it showed the word TRUST, with the bar filled about 3/4 from the bottom. While intrigued, you didn't question it.
She cocked her head at you again, this time curious. "You're new around here, huh?" With a slight nod, her face brightened. "That's okay! Us Snowdin folk welcome new people with open arms. You'll blend right in." When you give a small smile, her face grew deeper into thought. Until she came up with an idea.

"You seem nice. Come on, I'll introduce you to Papa. He'll show you around." And without waiting for your approval, she took off.
You could barely see her white ponytail as she ran. You gave it your all to keep up with her, but as she ran, the cold wind blew against you without hesitation. You didn't question where the wind came from, assuming it was the motion in your running.
The young child suddenly sprinted, leaving you to follow her footprints. You take heavy breaths, reaching Sans' station as Cristle looks around expectantly. Seemingly disappointed, she waited a little for you to catch up.
It isn't until she stops that you begin to allow your mind to wander. This little girl was entirely new. She had yet to be explored. What is her backstory? Her hopes and dreams? What would be her reactions to this? What would she do, what would she say, if she got to see the surface? If she lived her entire life down here?
If her friends and family were slaughtered in cold blood? Say, in front of her? You shook away the idea. But, then, another one came. It came without Chara's help or influence, although the approval could be heard in the spirit's voice.
What if she experienced a reset? Would she forget like everyone else? Or, remember? Like you, Flowey and Sans?
Shaking your head, breath seemed to have escaped you on the path. The clearing was deeper in the forest than expected. Either that or you needed more exercise. For all you knew it was both.

As you slow to take breaths, she takes off, even faster than before. Letting the familiar path fill you with DETERMINATION, you sprint towards the child. But she jumped and giggled, playing with the snow as she ran. It was then you realised that the wind was blowing a little harder, and the snow was reacting to her movements as she did them. You were suddenly curious as to how this was possible. She was a human child, wasn't she?
Shaking your head, you tried to keep up as her white ponytail that you have yet to find an explanation for faded into the blowing snow. Both you and Chara raised an eyebrow at the small child that was no longer there. Okay, you thought, maybe this kid only looked human.
She took another turn on the path and ran the fastest you've seen her yet. When you followed her, the both of you saw the skeleton brothers squabbling. Over puns and puzzles, you had assumed. But Cristle brightened up as she called out to them, "Papa! Papy! Look! I made a new friend!"

Sans turned around, almost expectantly, smiling at the sight of you. "i can see that."
