A long chapter Ahead.. Enjoy......

Keshav stood in the kitchen with Myra clinging onto his hip with her arms around his neck and he was holding her safe like he was carrying a child. They were looking into each other with a teasing smile and he pecked her lips thrice.

They darted their eyes to the oven when they heard the beep sound from it. Myra squealed and jumped down rushing to it with Keshav tailing her. He snaked his arm around her waist and pulled out the cake from the oven.

He placed it on the island and Myra duck her head and stood before him. 

Myra: Ketchcup, I will do the icing. You just watch my skill.

Keshav placed his palms on either side locking her and watched her focused on the work. He smiled and kissed her cheek and Myra whined nudging him with her shoulder for disturbing her.

Keshav: Just 2 minutes left little one.

Myra: I m done .. I m done... Just a minute.

She completed icing and raised her fist in the air. Keshav carried the cake to the living and placed it on the teapoy and they knelt next to each other watching the time on the mobile screen. On watching the time turn 12 they hugged crushing each other in their embrace.

Myra: Happy first anniversary Ketchup

It had been 3 days they had arrived at Maldives to celebrate their anniversary and awaited this moment. They cupped each other face and started kissing, a short one as Myra was eager to cut the cake. They held the knife together and cut the cake and fed each other. Keshav grabbed a huge piece of cake and smeared it on her face and they ended up with cake and cream smeared all over them. Keshav pulled her holding her waist and licked the cake on her face.

He carried her to the bedroom and ended up cleaning all the cream from her body filling the room with their moans.

Morning Keshav woke up and pushed the duvet to see Myra snuggled into his chest. He kissed the crown of her head and waited for her to wakeup as they had made a habit of not leaving the bed without greeting each other with a good morning kiss. 

Myra woke up to the ringing of her mobile and saw Keshav smiling at her. She pecked his lips and quickly dressed up in a shirt and answered the call from the family who had assembled together to wish the couple. 

Keshav and Myra were welcomed by the chorus of the family wishing them for their anniversary.

They didn't take long time and cut the call. Keshav pulled Myra to the washroom and they had a quick romance and completed their bath. They got dressed up for shopping and before they left the room, Keshav gave her a small gift box. Myra opened it and saw a beautiful diamond tear drop earrings in it. She pecked his lips and wore those earrings and Keshav showed a super sign. Myra picked the gift she bought for him and Keshav was curious to know her gift. She pulled his wrist and clasped a watch of his favourite edition.

Keshav: Wow, this is fantastic little one.

Myra: I know how crazy you are of watch collections. Look into its base, I got our names embossed on it.

Keshav removed the watch and saw their names beautifully embossed. He pecked her lips and they left for shopping for the family.

The next night they landed in Chennai and reached home to meet the family. On seeing them Naina ran to hug Myra but Myra was quick and stopped Naina glaring at her.

Myra: Are you crazy Naina ? Did you forget you have my niece or nephew in you ? 

Naina pouted hearing Krish smile from behind her. Myra crouched on the floor and cupped Naina's non visible bump.

Myra: Hello baby, your favourite aunt is back from vacation. Did you be good to your mother ? Don't trouble her now and we shall do that together once you are born. 

Myra raised to her feet and hugged Naina with a smile.

Myra: I bought so many gifts and chocolates for you. 

She gave all the dresses, jewelry and chocolates to Naina and other gifts to their parents and Krish. 

Keshav: When is your next checkup Naina ?

Naina: Two weeks later but please put some sense in your brother. He doesn't let me eat my favourite chats.

Myra: What nonsense ? You don't worry, now I m back and I will buy you all the chats.

Krish glared at Naina but she stuck her tongue out teasing him. Keshav and Myra returned to their room and Krish held Naina's hand and lead her to their room.

Krish: The last time I remember you ate 2 plates of pani puri yesterday on way to academy and today you are complaining that I don' buy chats for you.

Naina: Yes, I wanted 2 more plates but you denied it on my face. I m tired so give massage to my legs.

Krish: I can massage whole body.

Naina: That will end up in something else and I won't allow you not until you accept to buy me anything I ask for.

Krish: Did I misread that pregnant women will be horny ?

Naina: Even if I m horny I will take cold shower so you decide, food or couch ?

Krish: Food

Naina squealed and hugged him. Krish caressed her hair lovingly and kissed her temple.

A week later Keshav and Myra returned to their home in the evening and were cleaning their home together. They finished all the works and settled on the couch in the living with snacks to watch a movie.

Keshav: Butterfly, you have never missed periods and now its been 3 weeks you missed it. Should we consult a gynaec or shall I buy a home test to just confirm.

Myra: I wanted to do that but I don't feel any symptoms so .. I mean what if its positive or what if its negative ?

Keshav placed the snacks bowl on the teapoy and pulled her to his lap.

Keshav: If its a positive we shall get prepared to welcome our Laya and if its negative then we shall work out to bring our Laya but either way I think we should consult the doctor. I don't want to ignore and risk your health. So what say ?

Myra: Buy a test and book an appointment with doctor. Lets test at home and be prepared to meet the doctor.

Keshav kissed tip of her nose and drove to the nearest pharmacy and bought multiple brands of HPT.

Keshav: The pharmacist suggested we do the test in the morning.

Myra nodded her head and they called it a night. Morning Myra woke up first and shook Keshav as she was now curious to test. Myra entered the washroom and returned with her urine sample and Keshav placed all the kits on the teapoy and spilled the sample into the kits.

Myra: I m curious and also nervous Ketchup so you let me know the result. 

Myra held Keshav's arms and closed her eyes waiting for him to let her know the result. A tear slipped from Keshav's eyes as he watched two lines appear on all the kits. He pressed his lips on Myra's forehead while Myra gulped and her heart started thudding in expectation.

Keshav: Congratulations Laya's mamma..

Myra shot open her eyes and closed her mouth with her palms as she watched the positive result on the kits. Keshav wiped the tears from her cheeks with his thumb and Myra darted her eyes to Keshav.

Myra: Ketchup...Laya... our laya...we.. we are parents... you are appa and I... I m ..am.. I am amma. Congrats Laya's appa.

She smashed her lips with his and they kissed relishing the moment. They pulled back from the kiss and Keshav tossed her shirt and touched her abdomen gently, Myra placed her palm above his feeling every bit of their happiness together.

Keshav knelt on the floor and kissed her abdomen and Myra saw him in tears.

Keshav: Lets go consult the doctor immediately little one.

Myra: We are having a baby and you still call me little one ?

Keshav: You will forever be my little one even when our hairs turn grey. Now let me get you ready.

Thye got ready and Keshav made a quick breakfast for Myra and fed her. They walked hand in hand and he opened the door for Myra before he got in the driver seat. 

Keshav: The doctor is Assistant commissioner's wife and I know him very well. I called him last night to get her appointment. You can be relaxed and she will take good care of you and our baby.

They reached the hospital and was directly lead to the doctor's room. Keshav introduced Myra to the doctor and informed about the HPT test they had done back at home. The doctor suggested a repeat of the test in addition to a blood test and the couple waited for the results after Myra had given her samples for the test. 30 minutes later the nurse called Keshav and Myra to the doctor's room.

Doctor: Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Keshav, the results are positive. Considering the last menstrual date its too early for ultrasound so lets wait. I will prescribe you vitamins and nurse will fix appointment for your next visit. Call me anytime if you have any doubt or discomfort. 

Keshav: Thank you so much doctor. 

Keshav helped Myra out of the room and they waited until the nurse returned with all the vitamins. They thanked the nurse for the aide and they got in the car.

Myra: Lets go home and inform our family first but we should reveal it in a unique way. 

Keshav thought for sometime and called Rajan and informed him to meet him at Madan's home with Vasundra. 

Keshav revealed his plan to Myra and drove to a mall. An hour later they arrived at home and the family was curious to know the reason they were called together.

Keshav and Myra entered the home and the whole family looked at them. Keshav gave a shopping bag to everyone and waited for them to open it.   Archana held a T shirt which had  " Soon to be grandmaa". Madan opened it and showed a T shirt " Soon to be grandpaa".

Archana: What is with this ? We know this already so what is the sur...

She stopped abruptly on seeing Vasundra and Rajan looking at the t shirt in their hands and tears from their eyes. She saw the same reaction from Naina and Krish.

Archana: What happened ?

Vasundra showed the T shirt in her hand to every one which said " Soon to be grandma ". Naina showed her " Soon to be aunt "

Archana and Madan gaped in surprise while Vasundra and Rajan hugged Myra sobbing over her shoulder.

Vasundra: My baby is having her baby.

Everyone took turns and congratulated the couple. Archana made special food and sweet to celebrate the day. Keshav and Myra returned home and he carried her to their room.

Keshav: You will not carry any weight, no climbing the stairs and no more doing works at home atleast not for the time being. 

Myra: Will you behave typical husband and restrict me from eating and doing all other things ?

Keshav: Not at all butterfly, I will never stop you from eating anything you wish, infact I will cook anything you ask for. I will let you work too but without exhausting you.

Myra pecked his cheek and they marked the date on the monthly calendar in their room.

One month later:

Keshav held Myra's head as she puked and sat on the bathroom floor exhausted. Keshav flushed the toilet and carried Myra to the counter and washed her face. Myra gargled her mouth and leaned on Keshav's shoulder.

Myra: I thought I m unique and won't feel any morning sickness. God, how wrong I was. Ketchup when will all these stop ?

Keshav: Let me talk to doctor and ask for medicines to reduced the nausea. 

He carried her back to the room and laid her on the bed. Myra continued sleeping and he prepared breakfast for her. Myra woke up and saw Keshav waiting by her side. He helped her to sit and started feeding her little by little.

Third month Pregnancy:

Keshav and Myra arrived at the hospital at 10 p.m and he carried the medical file and held Myra's hand as they entered the elevator.

Myra: Why are we here at this time Ketchup ? I thought doctor's consultation time is only upto 9 p.m.

Keshav: That is becaue we are here at special request. Usually attenders are not allowed at the time of ultrasound but I wanted to be with you so I requested to the doctor and she wanted us to be here at this time.

Myra felt excited to have Keshav by her side for their first ultrasound. The nurse lead Myra and Keshav inside the room and instructed to be ready for the scan. Keshav hoisted her and laid her on the bed and scrunched her top and the nurse covered her lower with a sheet. Doctor entered greeting the couple and Myra held Keshav's hand as the doctor got ready.

Myra curled her toes and interlaced her fingers with Keshav's when the doctor squeezed the gel on her abdomen. Myra tilt her head and looked at the monitor as the doctor traced the transducer on Myra's abdomen.

Doctor: The baby is perfectly fine and growth is upto par. A good sign you are on the right track of taking care of the mother and the baby. Now get excited..

Before they could realize they heard the sound of the heartbeat echoing in the room. Both Myra and Keshav closed their eyes savouring the moment.

Keshav: Doctor would you mind closing your eyes for few seconds ?

Doctor closed her eyes and Keshav kissed Myra's lips taking her by surprise. He thanked the doctor and quickly fished out his mobile and recorded the heartbeat of their baby.

Doctor: Continue with the vitamins, more healthy foods, good walk.

Keshav and Myra thanked the doctor and he cleaned the gel from Myra's abdomen and carried her out of the room. As soon as they were in the car Keshav started kissing her.

Keshav: You painted my life like a rainbow butterfly. Everyday is fresh and new for me experiencing the best moments with you.

Myra: I love you Ketchup.

They drove back home and Myra pulled Keshav holding his collar.

Myra: I want pasta.

Keshav smiled and entered the kitchen and cooked pasta just the way she wanted.

Fifth month pregnancy:

Naina was 7 months pregnant and she arrived at Myra's home along with Krish since she was missing Myra a lot after they parted ways from the academy the previous night.

Keshav walked out of kitchen holding two plates of pani puri for Myra and Naina. Krish returned from the supermarket and placed the bag on the teapoy before the pregnant women.

Krish: Here I bought both your favourite flavours of ice cream and chips. Atleast have them later after lunch or for evening snacks. Please.. pretty please..

Keshav: Let them have a little now and rest they can have in the evening.

Myra pinched Keshav's cheek and started eating the ice cream while Naina was glaring at Krish holding the ice cream in her hand.

By evening Krish and Naina left from there and Keshav, Myra took Shishimaru for a walk in the nearby park. Myra tried to hold the leash but Keshav stopped her. Myra stood on ground refusing to walk and Keshav wrapped his arm around her waist.

Keshav: Little one, I m not allowing you to hold the leash only for your safety. Shishimaru might get excited on seeing his girlfriend and try to escape from our hold all of a sudden, we might lose balance with the sudden pull. Now tell me, will that be good for you ?

Myra: His girlfriend is here

Keshav turned back and saw a man walking with his pet. Keshav held the leash in a grip yet Shishimaru started barking and pouncing to reach the other dog.

Keshav: Look at him how eager to meet her and you want me to let you hold him ? He is in love and its difficult to hold him. I should talk to that man and set a date for Shishimaru.

Myra giggled and Keshav pinched her cheek for giving a teasing smile. Keshav touched her bump and they gaped at each other when they felt the first kick of their baby.

Keshav: Baby kicked ..

Keshav knelt before her and kissed her bump and felt another kick. Myra gasped as the kick was stronger than the first one.

Keshav: Do you think I would have been happy working in Delhi, leaving you here all alone missing all these moments in my life ? 

Myra smiled and ruffled his hair and they returned home.

Seventh month Pregnancy:

Keshav and Myra were seated on the front row of the party hall were Naina's baby shower was arranged. Myra watched the ladies do the ritual for Naina and Krish. 

Vasundra called Myra and Keshav helped her to the stage to do the ritual for Naina. After the function was over Keshav and Myra returned home and he got her changed into a maternal gown. 

Myra: Ketchup, my feet are swollen and my back hurts.

She wiped her tears and Keshav placed pillowed to her back for comfort and started massaging her feet.

Keshav: don't cry little one, just few minutes and I will massage to soothe the pain. Will you be able to continue with academy works ?

Myra: Naina is close to her delivery date and she won't be able to continue her work so I will work for atleast one more month.

Keshav: In that case lets recruit staffs to take care of the academy in both your absence. I will arrange to publish an ad in tomorrow's newspaper edition.

He sat opposite to her and gently pulled her to lean on his shoulder and massaged her back and hip. He heard her snore and smiled before he laid her slowly on the bed. He laid next to her and cuddled her to support her back.

Eighth month Pregnancy:

Keshav and Myra were standing outside the labour ward with the family and she started sweating on hearing Naina scream in pain. 

Keshav: Myra, lets go wait in the car or in the waiting hall until the baby is born. 

Myra bobed her head and he held her hand and lead to the waiting hall. They sat next to each other and Myra leaned on his shoulder hooking her arm with his.

Myra: She is in terrible pain and I m scared to think of the day I will be going through it.

Keshav: shhhh, not the right time to think of it. I will be with you in the room holding your hand and our baby will not make it difficult for you. Just relax now and don't stress or I m taking you home this instant.

Myra shook her head and he caressed her bump slowly feeling the baby playing and kicking which a brought a smile on their lips.

Two hours later Keshav received a call from Rajan calling them to the ward. Keshav and Myra entered the ward and saw Naina asleep and the baby boy in Archana's arm. Krish was by Naina's side holding her hand.

Myra took the baby in her arm and saw the little bundle yawn. A tear slipped from her eyes as she watched the baby.

Myra: Every single pain will be worth. Keshav touched the baby's cheek with his forefinger and they waited until Naina woke up. Keshav bought lot of clothes, toys for the baby before he left with Myra.

Ninth Month Pregnancy:

Keshav fed Myra with a glass of juice once the stylist left the room after she got Myra ready for the baby shower. Keshav had bought a soft weightless silk saree and chose light jewels. Her hair was braided in a french style and adorned with jasmine flowers. 

Keshav: You look exhausted already and I m not allowing you for more than an hour for whatever ritual they have. Just 1 hour and 30 minutes then we are heading home.

He was alarmed and perturbed on watching Myra walking holding her bump. He put on facade of being brave and accompanied her everywhere she walked around in the home. He had called Vasundra to stay with them in the last few weeks of the pregnancy.

Keshav held her hand and waist as they walked up to the stage. They were made to sit next to each other and one by one started blessing the couple. Myra smiled looking at the bangles in her hand and finally Keshav rose to his feet and applied the sandal to her cheek and picked the gold bangles from his pocket and slid in her hands.

Finally they returned home after the ritual and he gave her a warm bath. Myra laid on the bed and Vasundra entered the room with glass of turmeric milk.

Vasundra: Myra, call me immediately if you feel any discomfort. Its not like woman will go into labour on the exact date as the mentioned by doctor. It may be early or delayed so just call me anytime.

Myra smiled and Vasundra walked out of the room. The next day Archana too arrived to stay with Myra.

3 days later Myra woke up in the middle of the night feeling pain. Feeling her movement Kesav woke up instantly and saw her holding her back.

Keshav: Myra..

Just a look at her face and he knew she was in pain. He called the security and informed him to get the car out and called Archana and Vasundra who picked the bags which they had packed before hand. Keshav carried Myra to the car and placed her in the passenger seat and reclined the seat comfortably for her. He got in the driver seat with Archana and Vasundra in the back seat and he started driving to the hospital. On way he called up the doctor and informed her about Myra's pain.

As soon they reached the hospital Myra was taken to the room for check and the doctor confirmed she is into labor. Myra was given injections and Keshav held Myra's hand and walked into the room and occassionally Myra leaned on to the wall and on Keshav when she felt the pain instigate.

The family except for Naina arrived at the hospital and nearly after 4 hours Myra was taken to the labor ward and Keshav accompanied her. He stood by her side holding her hand and with his other hand he caressed her hair.

Myra was screaming in pain and his heart shattered to see her in such state. He wiped his own tears with his sleeves and kissed her forehead.

Keshav: Didn't you say every pain will be worth when we hold our baby ? Just few more minutes little one and we will have our baby with us. 

Doctor: Myra, take a breathe and on 3 you need push. 

Myra followed the doctor's words and cried as she pushed. Keshav felt his finger at the verge of breaking but nothing mattered to him at the moment other than his butterfly. Finally what it felt like eternity they heard the sound of the baby cry and Myra's cries muffled. Keshav wiped the tears from her eyes and kissed her temple while Myra felt his tears on her cheek.

Doctor: Congratulations, you are blessed with a baby girl.

Keshav: Laya

Myra smiled before she slipped into her sleep from all the exhaustion. Keshav panicked for a moment but the doctor clarified him that she was just asleep. He carried the baby in his arm and he shed more tears looking at the flesh and blood they made out of love.

Keshav: Welcome to our little world princess.

He placed the baby on Myra's chest despite her sleeping state.

Keshav: Look at your amma, princess. Appa and amma love you and you mean the world to us.

Doctor carried the baby for check up and Keshav walked out of the room and informed the family about their princess. 

One hour later Myra and baby were shifted to the private ward and the family was elated to see the mini version of Keshav and Myra in the baby. Keshav sat by Myra and she smiled at him.

Keshav: Our princess is so cute just like you. She will have us wrapped around her little finger for sure. I love you Myra, you made our life the most beautiful one.

Myra: I love you.

They heard baby crying and Keshav carried her to Myra to feed. The family left the room and the doctor guided Myra to feed the baby. Later she left and Keshav sat next to Myra and she leaned on to him. Keshav wrapped his one arm around Myra and held the tiny fingers of his daughter in other hand and watched his wife and daughter in content.

Myra passed the baby to Keshav and she fell asleep while Keshav rocked the baby. He couldn't stop smiling on seeing the little human holding his forefinger in her fist.

Keshav: I will love you and my butterfly with every fibre in my body and bring down the world at your feet.

He kissed his daughter's forehead with a smile.
