Author's POV:

Ha-rin stood in front of her bedroom mirror, carefully adjusting her outfit with her good hand. Her left arm, encased in a cast, hung at her side. She was determined to enjoy the evening, despite the lingering pain from her recent accident. The excitement of the concert had been a beacon of light during her recovery.

Just as she was about to leave, her mother appeared in the doorway, concern etched across her face. "Ha-rin, are you sure you should be going out tonight? You just got into that accident. You should be resting."

Ha-rin turned to face her mother, a reassuring smile on her lips. "I know, Mom, but I've been looking forward to this concert for months! I can't miss it. I'll be careful, I promise."

Her mother sighed, her worry evident. "I just don't want you to overdo it. Promise me you'll take it easy and come home if you feel any pain."

"I promise," Ha-rin said, giving her mother a quick hug. "I'll be fine. I'll be with my friends the whole time."

With that, she headed out the door, excitement bubbling within her. The evening sky was painted in hues of deep orange and pink, the sun setting gently over the horizon as she made her way to the concert hall.

Inside the bustling venue, the atmosphere was electric. The crowd moved as one, swaying and cheering to the rhythm of the music. Ha-rin, despite her fractured hand and the bruises she had sustained from the accident, felt her spirits lift. She laughed and cheered along with her friends, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"This is amazing!" Ha-rin shouted over the music to her friend Min-ji, who was standing next to her.

Min-ji grinned and nodded. "I know, right? I've been waiting for this concert for months!"

Ha-rin raised her good hand and waved it in the air, her casted arm moving rhythmically by her side. "I don't even care about this stupid cast. I'm having the time of my life!"

Her other friend, Soo-jin, leaned in to be heard. "You're a trooper, Ha-rin. Most people would have stayed home, but not you!"

Ha-rin laughed. "Nothing can keep me away from good music and good friends!"

The crowd roared as the next song started, and Ha-rin felt a surge of exhilaration. She closed her eyes for a moment, letting the beat of the drums and the strum of the guitars wash over her.

When she opened them again, she noticed someone in the crowd who seemed to be watching her. A boy, not much older than herself, stood a few feet away, his gaze steady and intent.

She felt a flicker of discomfort but brushed it off, focusing instead on the music that enveloped her. As the concert progressed, her friends slowly drifted away into the throng of concertgoers, caught up in their own moments of joy and excitement, leaving her standing alone.

Minutes passed, and Ha-rin continued to cheer, her voice mingling with the thousands of others around her. The boy moved closer, standing beside her.

At first, she ignored him, caught up in the euphoria of the concert. But as the moments ticked by, she began to feel his presence more acutely. He was tall, with dark hair that fell slightly over his eyes, and he seemed to carry an air of calm amidst the frenzy of the crowd.

Ha-rin turned slightly to glance at him, her curiosity piqued. Their eyes met, and for a moment, the world around her seemed to fade. He gave her a small, reassuring smile, and she felt her unease melt away. She continued to enjoy the concert, but she couldn't help stealing glances at him.

As the concert drew to a close, she noticed some men in the crowd who had been eyeing her with a less-than-innocent interest. It was then that she understood why the boy had been standing so close. He was there, not to intrude, but to protect. Gratitude swelled within her, and she turned to him with a grateful smile.

"Thank you," she mouthed over the music.

He nodded, his expression softening slightly. "No problem," he said, his voice barely audible over the noise.

The final song ended, and the crowd erupted in applause. Ha-rin clapped enthusiastically, the boy still standing protectively by her side. As the lights came up and people began to disperse, she turned to thank him again, but he had vanished into the crowd.

Ha-rin stood on her tiptoes, scanning the sea of faces, but there was no sign of him. She pushed through the throng of concertgoers, her eyes darting from face to face, hoping to catch another glimpse of the mysterious boy.

"Ha-rin, wasn't that incredible?" Min-ji's voice broke through her thoughts as she and Soo-jin reappeared, breathless and exhilarated.

"It was the best!" Ha-rin replied, her mind still occupied with the boy who had disappeared so suddenly.

"Where did you go? We were looking for you," Soo-jin said.

"I was just... here," Ha-rin said, still glancing around, hoping to see him again.

As they made their way home, Ha-rin couldn't shake the image of the boy from her mind. She couldn't help but wonder who he was and if she would ever see him again.

Ha-rin's POV:

The next morning, the sun peeked through the curtains of my bedroom, casting a warm glow across my room. I lay in bed, the events of the previous night playing on a loop in my mind. The concert had been amazing, but it was the mysterious boy who occupied my thoughts the most.

Stretching my uninjured arm, I glanced at the clock. It was already mid-morning, and I knew I should probably get up and do something productive. But the idea of going to college felt exhausting. My arm still ached, and I wasn’t ready to face the crowded hallways and classrooms just yet.

"Just some more week of rest," I told myself, rolling over and pulling the blankets up to my chin.

The days passed slowly. I found myself replaying every detail of my encounter with the boy from the concert. I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something significant about him. I spent hours scrolling through social media, hoping to stumble upon some clue about his identity, but found nothing.

As the week turned into the weekend, I remembered my appointment at the hospital to get my bandages changed. I sighed, reluctantly dragging myself out of bed and getting ready. I knew my mom would be worried if I missed the appointment, and besides, the wound needed proper care.

At the hospital, the sterile smell of antiseptic filled the air. I sat in the waiting room, my mind still occupied with thoughts of the mysterious boy. I barely noticed when my name was called.

"Ha-rin, it’s your turn," the nurse said kindly, leading me to an examination room.

As I waited for the doctor, my eyes wandered around the room, landing on a poster about self-care. I chuckled softly to myself. "I could use some of that," I thought.

The doctor entered, a middle-aged woman with a warm smile. "Hello, Ha-rin. How are you feeling today?"

"I'm okay," I replied. "Just here to get my bandages changed."

The doctor nodded, examining my arm gently. "You’re healing well. Just a few more weeks, and you’ll be good as new."

I smiled, though my thoughts were still elsewhere. As the doctor carefully started replacing my bandages, a sharp pain shot through my arm. I winced, trying to keep still, but the pain was almost unbearable.

"Just hold still," the doctor said softly, continuing her work.

Suddenly, I felt a firm yet gentle grip on my shoulder. I looked up, and time seemed to stop. An unknown boy stood beside me, holding me steady. He was wearing a mask, but his eyes captivated me. They were deep and expressive, a dark brown that almost appeared black in the dim hospital light. His gaze was intense yet gentle, filled with concern and something else I couldn’t quite place. His dark, slightly wavy hair framed his face perfectly, a few strands falling over his forehead. His skin was fair, and even with the mask covering half his face, I could tell he had striking features.

For a moment, everything else faded away. The pain, the sterile smell of the hospital, the doctor’s instructions—all of it became background noise. All I could focus on were his eyes. They were familiar yet mysterious, drawing me in and making my heart race.

He held my gaze, not looking away for even a second. It was as if we were communicating without words, sharing an unspoken understanding. I felt a strange sense of comfort and safety in his presence, a feeling that was both new and intoxicating.

Finally, the doctor finished changing the bandages. "All done," she said, breaking the spell.

As soon as she stepped back, the boy let go of my shoulder and swiftly left the room. I barely had time to thank him or ask who he was. He disappeared just as mysteriously as he had appeared, leaving me once again filled with curiosity and a sense of loss.

I left the hospital feeling a mix of emotions. There was something
