[Gloria Pendragon]

Gabriel's pov|

It all happened in a matter of seconds. The sky was furiously cursing the world with thunders as if it wanted to annihilate the human race within a day. The dense smoke of mana filled up with environment like a red curtain,blocking half of my vision.

Damn it! I knew this would happen.

I cursed myself for letting this happen as I yelled out the name of my sister,"GLORIA!!"

My voice did not do any effect under the cloud of thunderous lightenings. The entire hall was engulfed in Gloria's mana like a blood ocean.

"Glo—",my voice died down on my throat as a shudder went through my spine. The terror of Pendragon bloodlust,felt to my bone marrow. This was not the cursed bloodlust. This was pure intentional bloodlust born from the human heart.

I gasped loudly as I went on my knees,Gloria had snapped. It is said that the snap would no longer exist within the newly born Pendragons except for their inhuman strength. But the snapped state would still exist within the Pendragons who were born before the curse was lifted. And apparently,Gloria was born before the curse was lifted. I still remember the time I saw her burnt skin due to the curse. Her neck and arms had black linings,just like the elder Pendragons. But she covers them with her mana energy.

These fools in the Bishop family did not really know to what extent the curse was lifted,they did not know that Gloria was a curse Pendragon just like the elders,they did not know how terrifying she could be.

Looking around,I could not see anyone due to the red fog. But I could hear people gasping for air,struggling,just like me.

And then......it was a deafening second before everything stopped. My eyes widened in terror,I felt it from my guts that the next second would not be calm.

Everything around me exploded,the vases,the glasses,the water fountain,even the walls. I almost saw my life flashing before my eyes. I would not survive this if Gloris does not stop.

The explosion stopped all of a sudden,....no,it was the time. No,actually,it was the explosion,Gloria was literally stopping an explosion,controlling the fire,wall pieces,glass pieces,everything was under her control. And then I saw,....Gloria was in the mid air,with a kind of smile that brings chills down to my spine. I had no idea she was this much powerful. Stopping an explosion like this? It was no simple matter,only a mage at uncle Taehyung's level could pull this.

Sunghoon's pov|

We've already reached the hospital building. It was one of the main buildings within the town city as I could see. The architecture had similarities of European buildings back in the day.

I let out a sigh,not feeling great at all. I have been living in hospitals for the longest of my life and going inside a hospital again in this world? It felt like pure torture. I could already hear cries of people,children and women.

"Sir,I'll lead you two inside",one of the Pendragon guards who came with us took the lead. The black and red uniform filled my entire vision as he walked infront of us.

"Please take us to where we could do some work",Jake,ever the sweetheart spoke and I could smack him back to our world right now.

The knight did not look back as he answered in a monotone,"Yes,my lord"

"Then,please take me to somewhere rest",I also decided to speak my mind.

"Hoon!",Jake yelled in my ear making me wince. "You are supposed to help me!"

"No,I'm not"

"You are the doctor!"

"Since when?"

"Are you kidding me?"

I rolled my eyes and kept following the knight. "I'm not helping you,I can watch over you if you want. Don't expect anymore"

Jake seemed a lot disappointed but I could care less.

This is tiring,maybe I should accept Gabriel's offer and become his personal doctor? Man is healthy as fuck,I probably would not need to tire myself out. But that would mean.....staying here forever? Wouldn't that be good though? I will be killed the moment those earthly bastards discover me.

"Somebody help!! Please!! My daughter is dying!! Please! Somebody! Anybody!"

A woman's scream reached us through a hallway. I was about to continue walking ahead but my goodie goodie cousin decided to see what was happening. Seriously,he is ridiculously kind to everyone.

"Oi,we are not here for that woma",I tried distracting Jake but he shrugged me off and walked through the hallway.

I looked at our knight,and sure enough he was also hesitant to go that way since it was not our destination.

"This fool",I mumbled before following Jake.

"My lord,we are not supposed to go that way",the knight tried stopping me.

"You go and tell him that",I replied before going forward and the knight had no choice but to follow me.

The hallway leaded us towards a room filled with so many patients. They were all in their respective beds but a woman was on her knees begging a doctor to save her daughter. Her eyes were sunken as if she had not taken a wink of sleep. Her ragged clothes were almost falling off her body,the scars on her arms and legs also said a lot about her background.

Must be a commoner

I cocked my head to a side and watched her begging on her knees with crossed arms over my chest. I placed my back on the nearest wall and watched everything.

"My daughter is in so much pain! Please take a look!! My lord!!"

The doctor had frustrated lines all over his face as he said calmly,"We cannot afford to waste time on a little stomachache when there people dying out there due to the plague "

"My daughter is dying too!"

"She is not infected. And I am not even supposed to be here right now. Just take few pills and she'll be fine tomorrow",the doctor tried leaving but the woman was hugging his legs so he wouldn't leave.

"My lord",my idiotic cousin decided to meddle in. You goodie goodie angel,I almost could see a holy hallow around his head. "Please,take a look at the girl,she is a child"

I looked at the girl on the last row of the beds. She was clutching her stomach,sweating profoundly in pain. Her skin had gone pale as a white sheet.

"Who are you? Please don't meddle in,all the nobles are pressuring me to death,I can't stay here. If you are not sick,then you take care of these commoners",with that,the doctor forcefully took out his leg from the woman's grip and left.

The woman next clutched onto Jake's leg. Tsk,this is annoying.

"Oi Jake,let's go",I said.

Jake looked back at me and stared at me for good few seconds. His eyes had a terrifying calmness that it almost scared me. Could Jake always make that kind of face? He doesn't seen so angelic now. And then he uttered two words.

"Help.Her"

I scowled,"No"

I hesitated no second and rejected.

"Her daughter is dying Sunghoon",his voice deepened as his eyes turned into a glare.

"So what?",I asked back.

I don't really care. Death is inevitable. We all die one day. So what's the point of saving her?

"Park Sunghoon!!"

Jake's voice boomed within the room. He is mad.

But I stayed still and did nothing. I don't really understand,why should I save her? I work for no one now. And Jake is NOT going to order me around.

"What can she give me if I help her? Gold? I don't think so?",I challenged.

Suddenly,Jake strode towards me with fast steps abandoning the woman who was clutching onto his legs.

Ah

I was punched.

I was fucking punched straight on my face.

I felt myself being dragged,when I came to my senses,I was infront of the girl who seemed to be a teenager.

"Save.Her",Jake repeated. His eyes no longer held the warmth,he seemed to despise me from the bottom of his heart. I could feel his hatred chilling my own bones.

"Jake,I'm.Not.A.Doctor"

"You are a doctor",Jake replied back immediately. "You are the best in the whole world. I know it damn well. You were supposed to go abroad to receive your own ceremony back then"

No,that was a lie. It was a cover to send me away from Korea so they could assassinate me during the trip. You fool,you know nothing. I am not a doctor.

"Hoon! Please,I beg you!"

I closed my eyes. Geez,I hate him so much. Why did this bastard have to be my brother?

I sighed and opened my eyes,"She is pregnant and is having a miscarriage"

I knew it the moment I laid my eyes on this girl. I didn't need to check her pulse to determine the problem. Taking a look at her was enough.

"...what"

The woman who had been crying,gasped. "Pregnant? Miscarriage? B–But she is still sixteen!"

I looked at her,"It is what it is",then I looked at the girl and asked,"Sex or forced?"

The girl looked away,biting her lips as tears ran down her eyes. No need to ask,it was obvious.

Her mother stumbled back and fell down. Jake was quick enough to kneel down next to her with concern all over his face.

Several more gasped were heard next. All the other patients were looking this way,whispering to themselves.

So predicted.

"Jake,leave that woman and help me. Get me a warm bucket of water and a suction device —do they have a suction device here?",I asked as I looked around.

Jake stuttered,"I –I don't know"

I looked at our knight,"Bring me a nurse"

"I don't think —"

"I don't care what method you use. Use that Pendragon name or whatever and drag a fucking nurse here. And prepare a clean room too"

I took the girl's wrist to take a pulse check but she snatched it away from my hand and looked at me with eyes filled with nothing but despise and hatred. I rolled my eyes,"What now? I'm trying to help you"

"Why would you say that aloud?",she whisper yelled. "Don't you know what it means to —"

"Do you think I was born yesterday? Get a hold of yourself. You are not the first woman to have a miscarriage. Sure I don't understand how it feels or what it means to be a mother or dignity problems,....but I am here to do my job and that is to save your life"

"You are cruel",the girl cried silently as she gazed at me with a kind of sympathy? "You don't have a heart,do you?"

"You could say whatever you want",I replied.

"Hoon please",Jake came from behind and held my shoulder. "Please don't stress her out more"

"Jake,I am the doctor here. I have dealt with patients stubborn than her"

And they never lived to see the next sun rise. Jake does not need to know that part.

"I hope you will someday know what pain is",the girl whispered as she closed her eyes.

Pain huh?

I have seen pain. I have seen what it would be like to be in pain. Because I was the one who inflicted pain on people.

But will I ever know what it feels like to be in pain?

"My lord! I brought a nurse!"

Sure enough,the knight had brought a nurse. A woman in a white simple gown with her hair tied into a low bun.

"Do you have a suction device?"

"Yes? Oh yes yes! We do have,my lord"

I nodded,"Transfer this girl to a clean and empty room"
