[Gabriel Pendragon]

Gabriel's Pov|

"The nerve of this bastard,you are not even a Pendragon. No pure blood,no red eyes,I am not even sure you are noble born,for all I care,you could be a son of a whore down the street. Just because Jungkook Pendragon adopted you doesn't mean you could look down on us",Katherine Bishop's outrageously insulting words reached after my exclamation.

I could see Idris smirking at me like I am pathetic. Moira does not even bat an eye but she did not seem impressed by Katherine's words either. Her eyes were blank,just like they had always been making me unable to wonder what she is really thinking.

The rest of the Bishops didn't react at all. But there were some faces of amusements or concern(maybe).

I smiled to myself as I stood up from my seat."Family line,nobility or appearance aren't going to tell you anything. For example,you've made the mistake of assuming that I am a patient man. True,I bowed my head when it was necessary. But that does not give any leverage to you all to talk or look down on me today. The family,the family,...you overestimate yourselves just because you have a family name backing you up,and you have no idea what I am made of as you cannot see beyond my blood and eyes. I am Gabriel,the name Pendragon does not describe my worth. Unlike you,I am not blinded by my own given family name. But I am proud to say I am a Pendragon. Because it is the name my father bestowed upon me",I looked at the surprised,shocked,amused faces of all the Bishops. Even Moira had a reaction this time. Her eyes were slightly wide as she stared at me.

I looked at Gloria to see if she was fine,for the first time,I could see her smiling proudly. Gloria had always been my pillar of support. She was my first sister and I was her first brother. We always had our backs ever since we were young. And she had always looked upto me,though she is literally stronger and powerful than me,in her eyes,I was never lacking.

Next I looked at aunt Luna,though I expected a little bit of disapproving look,she gave me a nod approving my wording. She stood up and faced the rest of the Bishops,"...Then we will take our leave. Hope you will find a better solution for the situation even though it pains me to leave my own home grounds like this"

She took her stance with no hesitation. As expected from the grand duchess Pendragon. She knew where to draw the line and what to do.

"You are leaving your own family like this?",Saintess asked,as if she was questioning aunt Luna's loyalty.

Aunt Luna took few extra seconds to size up Saintess' face and waited in silence,it was her way of ridiculing Saintess words. Her direct and upright personality,cold and silent demeanour,she is the royal mother of the nation through and through. "I am leaving with my family. After I was considered an outsider by you,I only have one family to care for. But do not mistake,my loyalty for this home ground has not faded and never will. I did what I could during the past months. I am a Bishop before I am Pendragon,so it's my responsibility to take care of the people,but with no help from the rest of the Bishops,this is all I could do",she looked at me and Gloria,"Kids,let's go home"

Another elder Bishop grumbles,visibly upset and too dumb to notice the message aunt Luna gave. He was not someone from the main family Bishops yet he had the audacity to grumble when even Saintess said nothing to aunt Luna's reply. If I remember correct,his name was Finn. "What's so great about these Pendragons"

Me,Gloria,and aunt Luna looked at him in unison.

There was no need of us to reply to him because the duchess Pendragon had a very simple answer to him. She raised her index finger and pointed at the sky,"You worship them"

The Bishop family is extremely loyal to the heavens. It doesn't matter who the god is,they are from the heavens thus they worship the gods from the heavens. And today,the chained up Pendragon ancestors had taken over the heavens,becoming the gods. Today,temples are made for them,from heavens to the royalty,and dukedom,it's all about Pendragons.

The slaves of the heavens became the gods.

It might be hard for this very proud family to accept but it is the truth.

We turned around to leave.

"Alright,I apologise"

A new voice chipped in making all of us halt. Looking over my shoulder,I saw an elder standing up with a smile similar to a smirk. He was handsome,tall and graceful.

Now we are talking about presence.

His black hair fell over his forehead but the little undercut was visible,the side silver ear piece on his ear gave such a wild look to his graceful figure. This elder must be atleast my father's age but one would surely mistake him to be my age if we walk together.

I actually had never seen this man before. Not even when I was here few years ago. And he gave a different vibe from the rest of the Bishops.

"Wynn!",Katherine yelled as she stood up from her seat too.

Wynn huh?

The man shrugged her frustrated glare and walked towards the water fountain and stood in the middle of the room. He glanced at me,"I thought it was pointless to come here but for the first time,I am glad I could be here. So,young man Gabriel,you said you were brought up by Jungkook Pendragon?"

What is he upto?

"....yes,sir",I answered warily.

He nodded,"Never thought that nutjob could raise a child but I see he did a fine job. Alright,I accept it,you are a Pendragon worth the name. I expected his son to be a total disaster just like him,but you take more of Namjoon's ways"

I raised an eyebrow,clearly not expecting a compliment? I guess. Or was it? He just insulted my father. But again,this isn't the first time.

"But I could say,there is someone else who takes after their parent",he gave a glance at Gloria who was very obviously having thoughts of burying him alive.

Wynn sighed with a smile and shook his head,"I was away from the kingdom after the war and came back to this"

"Wynn",Luna spoke. "What do you want to say?"

"Come on sister,we are cousins,smile a little bit. And here I am,apologising to Pendragons and you,don't look at me like that"

"That doesn't seem like an apology to me",Gloria,who had been silent all this time,spoke up. "Maybe you should get on your knees,or else you might just seem like a stupid old man"

Wynn raised an eyebrow," Taehyung's cocky mouth had been passed down to you huh? Tell him I said hi. I saved his ass during the war time",he winked and laughed.

I hardly think uncle Taehyung needed his help.

Aunt Luna turned around,"We are leaving"

"Wait wait wait! Alright! Please help us this once. Forget about our childish tantrums because these guys are too salty about Pendragons being gods. You know,God complexity and shalala ~ everyone has their ups and downs —"

"Wynn Bishop!!",Saintess seemed to have reached the limits. "How dare you —"

"Keep this up and we will die soon,granny. I saw what is happening out there",Wynn seemed serious now. His tone changed from funny to dead serious really fast. "By the way,I heard what happened with Gabriel back in the day"

My eyes widened. If he spills everything now,things will be hard to control. I could feel my heart drumming near my ear. The blood seemed to be running a marathon within my veins.

"That's enough—"

"Continue",Luna cut me off and looked dead in the eyes of Wynn. "What happened to Gabriel?"

Wynn looked at me as if seeing if I was fine but all I could do was watch him with wide desperate eyes.

"He came here looking for a crystal in order to help the Pendragons",Wynn looked away from my eyes. "He was searching it through a forest that belonged to Bishops. But eventually,he got caught by our family"

"You said nothing happened!!",Gloria raised her voice as she looked at me with wide unbelievable eyes. Only she knew where I went but she never knew the details.

Wynn chuckled while looking at my miserable face,"Nothing happened? Could you really say that after what they put you through?"

Luna,"Details"

Wynn looked back at the Saintess. She was looking calm but I could see through her facade. She is restless. But she could not say anything,not when it would prove that they did something terrible to me.

"Please stop",I groaned in frustration as I touched my own forehead.  My head is pounding like a massive bell is hitting it numerous times. "Don't you want our help? If you continue,I doubt it will happen"

"Even if he doesn't continue from here,we will not help",Gloria confirmed. "Something happened to my brother and I need to know it. Then I will decide whether to help this city or not"

This was not what I wanted. The peace between the two families would be broken. And if the words get out and reach my dad,......

"I will tell the story but under one condition",Wynn suddenly changed the flow of the conversation. A bargaining? Was this what he was after?

Luna,"What is it?"

Wynn smiled,"Help us"

That was it. This was what he was after since the beginning. This man was not doing a favor to me or anyone,he knew we would not help after everything happened here. Then the things happening around here must be seriously damaging the city.

Gloria,"What if we don't help?"

"Then you will forever in the dark",Wynn shrugged. "Do you think Gabriel would ever tell you what happened to him? Oh no~ he wouldn't want to be the reason for the destruction of the peace between the two families"

Gloria was grinding her teeth as she shot up a glare at me. She seemed extremely pissed.

Luna,"Alright. Then tell us"

"Aunt!",I yelped.

"Uncle,you are going to ruin our family",Moira stood up,attempting to stop him.

Wynn,"You guys already ruined it the moment you insulted Gabriel today. You actually don't know who and what Pendragons are. You have never seen the terror cursed Pendragons bring. You weren't even born at that times. I am surprised even Saintess decided to forget that fact,must be because they are no longer cursed. But granny,they are still Pendragons. They wouldn't go out of control due to bloodlust but their blood still would boil",he looked at Gloria with a deep meaning behind those purple eyes,"As long as there is a Pendragon in the room,you do not insult their loved ones"

He then looked at Moira,"There are no other family that loves like Pendragons. So,....yeah,you all ruin it the moment you opened your mouths"

What he says is true. He knew Pendragons well enough to speak like this. I could say how intelligent he was. He took my misery to his advantage. Bit what he is about to do now would bring a catastrophe to this land if I do not handle it well.

Wynn looked at Luna,"Gabriel was sent to the black market as a slave every day during the eight months he stayed here. He had to do it in order to get the crystal so his father and uncles could sleep even a few hours without a nightmare. It wasn't even a cure for the curse but he gave himself away for them"
