Third person pov|
Storm.....Pendragon. A lone Pendragon with only one crimson eye. His existence itself had succeeded in casting another curse on the Pendragons.
The fact that he had a crimson eye wasn't even the biggest matter at the hand,it was the fact that this man had created an image of the Elmyr, the fallen servant of the God. Most of the nobles failed to recognise this woman but the nobles who had been still alive since back in the days, knew who exactly is this. They went pale in their feet, some even fainted while some others went down on their knees. The fear and trauma this woman caused was still acting like a fresh wound.
And the Pendragons, the most affected people in this whole room, they were frozen. Utterly frozen, not even a thought went through their heads.
Even the king Ashen couldn't move. It was clear how shaken he was. Seeing his state, the queen had to take the matters into her hand.
"Who are you?",was her question.
Storm grinned maliciously,"Guess"
That was all Storm said before touching the head of the Elmyr he created, instantly the figure turned into a bunch of shadows. It was shadow manipulation. A mage couldn't manipulate shadows because shadows realm belonged to the hell and only hell. Just as hell couldn't control the light of heaven, heavens couldn't control the darkness. Not even a Pendragon could control shadows even if they wanted. Not everyone was smart enough to know that Storm was a hell born devil but those who had seen the hell magic at the first hand, knew it. Elder Pendragons who had seen what hell was like and how the darkness was manipulated, knew from just one look.
He was an offspring of the hell blood and Pendragon blood.
The shadows danced around Storm like they wanted to be pat by Storm. And his Pendragon eye glowed brightly bringing the whole ballroom to their knees except for Pendragons and the Queen. Even Gabriel was on his knees trying his hardest to breath through his mouth while sweating buckets. He felt like dying.
The chandelier lights started flickering and shaking.
Storm raised his palm with a menacing smirk,"The days I spent living as a fake tought me a lot. Your worst fear, and your worst regret, happened to coincide with my very existence. From now on,you will never know peace",he addressed the whole Pendragons with this statement.
The whole ballroom went dark while the shadows circled around all the Pendragons. They all fell on their knees as they started hyperventilating. Their weakened minds were dragged into the garden of shadows where you will live in your nightmares.
All they was one woman.
Just one woman.
Their nightmare.
Their reason for sanity and insanity.
The day they killed her, they were all living in it except Ashen who was having a different nightmare. A destroyed kingdom left by the very woman called Elmyr. There was no one left. Everything was red. The kingdom painted by red. And his family, they were all dead too. Right infront of his eyes.
Somehow, not a single person could stand in their feet except for the Queen. She was ready to fight Storm head on but she couldn't leave Ashen behind. The unprotected king would be in more danger if she moved away from him. Gritting her teeth, she filled her palms with spiritual energy, guarding the king.
Storm smirked while backing away.
He took a last look at the Pendragons. They were having a hard time breathing while thrashing in pain on the floor. They were traumatised. Living in their traumas again and again,it was a misery greater than a death.
Storm could actually see what they were seeing. After all, shadows were part of his existence. He could see how they were living in the moment they stabbed her to death. What was even more miserable was the fact that their nightmares were mixed with their happy memories.
Storm turned around and did a little wave towards the Queen knowing very well that he shattered the entire Pendragon household. He knew what his existence means to them, and he took the advantages of it. Storm's revenge was so great because he had been right infront of the Pendragon eyes all this time yet they couldn't get past through his facade. He got so closer to them, only to drop a huge rock to the glass hearts of these men.
It was perfect. He had been waiting for this opportunity like a predator waiting for its prey take the bait.
He laughed so hard as he disappeared into the darkness of the night.
_____________
[Present]
Storm opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was Heeseung's sleeping face. The memories of last nights hit him faster than he blinked. Heeseung came to help him, when he was in a state where he couldn't recognise anyone at all. He could have actually killed him.
His finger graced Heeseung's side cheek ever so slowly and gently. It was strange. He liked this peace. He preferred to wake up next to him than waking up along. He liked this sense of vulnerability he felt infront of Heeseung because he knew that only Heeseung would make him feel safe and comfortable.
Before this man came to Storm's life,he trusted no one but Nine. Even so,Nine wasn't a comfort zone. Not a person to come home for. But Heeseung,he made sure Storm was safe and made him feel comfortable. It felt like home for him.
So he truly wished to return to Heeseung's world. He had already ruined the Pendragon men. There was no where from there to go. The death will only satisfy those red eyed men. They pray for their own deaths. But now, they are living in their own nightmares thanks to Storm's shenanigans.
A knock on his door snapped him out of his trance. He stood up immediately and went to open the door immediately so as to not wake up Heeseung.
Nine stood at the door, seeing Storm he paused for a second before speaking,"I will wait outside until you get ready"
Storm looked down at himself only to see his own naked self. Storm nodded and closed the door.
Storm didn't mind his nakedness. Still he wore a pair of pants before walking outside.
Nine was standing beside a couch waiting for Storm. Once Storm sat down,Nine took the opposite couch and sat down facing him.
"Speak"
Nine gave a firm nod before speaking,"My lord, how much do you remember?"
"Before passing out in the forest. What happened after that?"
"That day....I felt your presence within the area. So,I rushed to get you back. But you were extremely sick. You had no mana energy in your body. The poison was actively attacking your meridians"
Storm,"Still....that doesn't explain why Heeseung is here"
Nine paused for a moment before taking a breath,"....I sent a message to sir Jackson. And he sent a reply saying he'll be back within two or three days. I kept in contact with him using the communication crystal but suddenly I lost the contact"
Storm furrowed his eyebrows,"What does that mean?"
"I don't know my lord. It was as if he vanished from the thin air",....."And you weren't getting better. So,I had to do something"
Storm groaned and massaged his forehead,"Tsk,I left him in the Pendragon house for that long huh. Fuck. And how did you even know he could help me?"
Nine kept his poker face as he answered,"You talked about him,my lord"
"I did?"
"Yes. You might not remember it now. But you did. So,I figured he could help"
Storm stared at Nine for good five seconds before darkening his gaze, red eye slightly glowing,"And you pushed him to my room knowing damn well I could have killed him?"
It sounded almost like a warning, answer properly or get killed type of glare.
Nine seemed a bit startled seeing Storm like this. Still,he composed himself and answered immediately,"It was a gamble. Your life mattered to me more than his. Forgive me for my bluntness my lord but my responsibility is to keep you safe. If I could,I could have brought lady Luna Pendragon here but her grace had gone to her home capital. Your mate.....was the only reachable option"
Storm kept his glare for few seconds before looking away. He let out a tired sigh. Leaning back on the couch,he covered his eyes with his right arm. Now what, without Jackson,he wouldn't be able to heal himself. And if that happens,he wouldn't be able to go back with Heeseung.
And he'd rather die than letting any other divine healer get close to him.
"So we have to wait until we found him?"
"Yes,my lord"
"Alright.....but there is another problem"
"What is it?"
Storm removed his arm from his eyes and kept staring at the ceiling,"....we can't keep Heeseung here. Not without us. This castle.....if it recognise anyone other than me and you,the shadows would swallow that person alive"
The castle,it was made by his father's magic. The shadows guarding this place belonged to the hell King Orpheus. Thus,Storm couldn't control them.
"....what about the Pendragon house?"
Storm snapped his head towards Nine as if he was crazy. "Are you fucking kidding me?!"
"I mean....he had been staying there all this time. And his friends....they are also there"
Storm still had an incredulous look,"Nine! What the fuck! Those are my enemies!"
"I understand. But my lord,I don't think they'd do anything to provoke you at all. Not when there are two Kingdoms waiting for your word so they could wage a war for you"
"Still...."
Nine smiled slightly,"You still underestimate your existence,my lord. You might not know but I am not the only one protecting you from within the kingdom. If Nakamura and Beatrice were outside forces, then there are inside forces"
Storm blinked. Just what did he hear right now?
"...what do you mean? There are more like you,Nakamura and Beatrice?"
Nine nodded,"You do not have to know them but they know you too well. They are ready to betray the kingdom again for your sake. And Pendragons, they know it too. And that's not the only thing.....many may not know who your father is but Pendragons know. Laying a finger on you means inviting Orpheus to open another hell door"
Storm rolled his eyes at the last part,"Do you really believe that pathetic excuse of a father would come for me? For your information,I was poisoned,so where is he now?"
Nine chuckled,"My lord.....he may not love you like a father but he definitely knows what a father should do. And same goes for your mother. They are always there for you"
"I don't see them? Where?",Storm didn't seem to take Nine's words seriously.
"One day....my lord. You will know"
Storm could only scoff,"You say my mother loved me but clearly her love was not enough for her to choose me",he stood up,not wanting to listen anymore.
"My lord wait!",Nine stopped Storm before he could leave. "....you can let Heeseung stay with Pendragons without a worry. There is a person, like I said before,a person who would do anything for you,in the Pendragon house right now. And Pendragons wouldn't even dream of hurting your mate after the war declaration they received from the two Kingdoms",......"And it's the safest option we have right now. Pendragons are the strongest,no one is befitting enough than them to keep your mate safe"
Nine suddenly rummage through his pockets before grabbing something,"and one last thing.....this"
Storm looked back to see Nine holding a red diamond ring. It was the first and last gift he received from his mother. Orpheus gave it to him before he abandoned him in this castle. The ring apparently belonged to Kalisto Pendragon, his grandfather. Something his mother cherished. It was said to be a family heirloom. Only the heir to the grand Duke position would wear the ring.
"You dropped this before you disappeared an year ago"
