The sun has Set
The Moon climbs into the heavens
The dark Reaches out with clawed hands grasping
The still night air suffocates
The colorful world is lost
A new world is born in black and grey

Sodium lights sputter and crackle
Trees stand silently, scraping the sky
The moon slides slowly to it's death
Shadows spread like blood stains
The world is painted in black
What is it that hides out there?

The silent war cry goes out
Trees rip the sky's stomach with a screeching wrench
Black droplets race down to the earth
The moon is beaten to the ground
Sinking slowly into an earthy grave
Howling victory dark armies press forward

Street lights valiantly beat back the beast
Stars stare down, eternal witnesses
Dark armies wait, biding there time
Someday the lights will fail
Someday darkness shall claim all once more
But it will not be this night
