Small and Insignificant

A small and insignificant thing

So miniscule and unimportant

That it is overlooked and forgotten

Like a dandelion after the wish is made

And you walk away leaving it uprooted from its life

With no purpose for its petals are gone

To love and be in love

Is something I yearn to know fully

And though day by day I search for an answer

I feel as if more and more of me is becoming incomplete

Unraveled like your favorite t-shirt

And cast to the side when too many strings have loosened

But with you it is different

Good or bad I do not know the answer

But you, I will always chase after

Because to me it does not matter

How many threads or petals I lose in the process

As long as you are happy

I will find a way to survive

And so even though I love you more than you love me

And as small and insignificant as I may be

My heart

Is bigger than the knives you use to tear me apart
