In The Shadows of Your Light 

I loved you in silence,

where your heart cast shadows,

and I stood, small and dim beneath them,

lost in the brightness you carried.

I reached for you with trembling hands,

hoping to hold even a piece of your flame,

Burning myself in the process.

In loving you, I lost parts of myself,

as I faded in your light,

a half-formed wish, a quiet echo,

barely noticed in the vastness of your world.
