the flicker of the faint light
calms me in this melancholic trance
where the shadows walk around
and the little monsters dance

i can feel my own desire
through the small heat
where the droplets roll down
and my skin can taste defeat

i found pleasure in you once
as the night faded out
but once you left i had nothing
except the drops of water from the spout

so i will remain here
laying on my back, waiting
for a single sign that you've returned
while the candlelight's still fading.
