chapter four
"Tell your master that I am not interested in anything he has to offer me. I stand alone and serve no one. He is wasting his time and so are you. Goodbye Miss Morwen."
"Why do you prefer to live alone? Wouldn't it be better for you to work among others? To become a part of something greater beyond you imagination?" I ask.
"I prefer to live alone because I don't have to deal with annoying women who can't take a hint that I'm not interested. Working with others would mean That there would always be that one person who would contradict everything I said and did. Becoming a part of something greater beyond my imagination is beyond my imagination." He quickens his pace.
"You don't understand! This is your chance to become something greater than a lowly thief and murder. Don't you want to be known across the land as a great warrior? Or strike fear into the hearts of your enemies?" I tempt him.
"If you are trying to inspire me you are doing a very poor job miss Morwen. I enjoy being a lowly thief, I am already know across the land as a great assassin. And i already strike fear into the hearts of my enemies. Your master is offering me what I already have." He says in a tone that sounds almost bored.
"What about riches? He can make you wealthier than all the kings of middle earth!"I offer.
"Why would I need wealth when I steal everything I need to survive? Not to mention that I don't have a permanent place to call home nor do I want one. I am content with the life I have. Now if you would be so kind as to leave me in peace I will refrain from gutting you with a knife." He threatens.
"You will not be satisfied with this life forever Amarth." He freezes, his hands clenching into fists.
"how do you know my name?" He
asks sharply.
"My master told me." I say calmly.
He looks over his shoulder.
"We have Been watching you for a long time Amarth." I say calmly.
"I know that deep down you are tired of this life you have Been leading. You long for change and a way to make something of yourself. If you come with me, you can have all of that. My master can give it to you." He only narrows his eyes at me.
"You know nothing about me." He growls.
"I don't care who you are or who your master is, if you interfere with my life again I swear by Morgoth that I will kill you both." He turns away, pulling his hood back over his head.
If only taking of that hood could open up his thick skull.
"An elf swearing by Morgoth, now that is unusual for an Avari. I thought that they did not believe in those things?" I ask, but he ignores me and continues walking.
With his black cloak pulled tightly around him he vanishes into the night...
