Long ago, Demons started an assault on the human world. Gods decided not interfere because humans weren't worth saving.
A small boy, who had suffered a lot because of the heinous deeds of some, sacrificed his life in exchange for the last attempt to beg mercy from the gods.
Zera, the God of war, moved by the bravery and kindness of that boy, descended down and managed to save a small kingdom from demons. He got engaged in a never ending war along the borders of land he saved to protect humans. Zera gave humans his knowledge and wisdom so that one day humans will be prepared to defend themselves. But the knowledge of gods was too much to comprehend by humans.
Zera fought for centuries, millenniums without ever resting for a moment. And after a long time, Freya, a human girl was finally able to tap into that knowledge.
Freya ventured into the forbidden land of battlefield. Even with the powers, Freya wasn't strong enough. Zera appeared and saved her.
And Zera fell in love.
