The next week flew by.

Evangeline and I had decided that we should give living together a trial run, so she basically moved in. She had been getting along so well with Whisper, that at times I was actually a little jealous of their new relationship.

.

"Its a girl thing, Daddy," Whisper would say.

"You wouldn't understand."

.

Maybe I didn't, but I also didn't care. The two women I loved more than life itself, were getting along. That was all I cared about.

.

Before the week was over, Evangeline and I talked. Our relationship was stronger than ever and Whisper assured us that she was not going to destroy anything else, so Evangeline, officially moved in.

There was such a wonderful connection between the three of us, although I kept getting the feeling that the two women had more that one secret they were hiding from me.

.

It was the first Friday after Eva had moved in. I had to leave early to go to the Deer Lake airport to get Bobby and Jessie, who were arriving from their trip to Alberta. I had not told them about Evangeline or about the fact that their house was ready to move into.

Evangeline and I had decided that it would be a surprise.

.

Whisper was coming with me to the airport.

Not that I could stop her.

.

Evangeline had a doctor's appointment. Just routine women's stuff, she told me.

I didn't question any further. She seemed happy enough and assured me that it was nothing serious.

.

When we got back from the airport, I took Bobby and Jessie to their new home. They were excited beyond excitement. We all had a drink to celebrate. I was hoping Evangeline would be back but there was no sign of her.

I snuck off and tried to phone her, but she was not answering her cell phone.

I was a little worried, but kept a brave face for Bobby and Jessie.

.

We stayed there for an hour or so and then went to my place. Evangeline had still not returned. While Whisper and the cats kept Bobby and Jessie entertained, I went to the gazebo and called Evangeline, once again, on her cell.

She did not answer, but minutes later, as I was walking back toward the house, her car pulled into the garden. I called out to her as soon as she got out of the car. She ran to me as quickly as she could and jumped into my arms, wrapping her legs around my waist.

She kissed me over and over again.

.

"Have I told you today how much I love you?"

.

She had but she could say it a thousand times and it would never get old.

She unwrapped her legs and stood in front of me. I could see she had been crying, but she certainly did not look upset.

.

"I have something to tell you. It is very important."

.

My heart sunk.

"You're not breaking up with me, are you?"

Why that was the first thing that came to me, I have no idea.

.

Evangeline kissed me on the lips. "Does this look like a breakup face to you?"

.

I shrugged. No one had ever broken up with me. The only real relationship I had before Evangeline, was Sheila and I simply messed that up.

Although, the day she left, felt like my heart breaking.

"I don't know.

Are you?"

.

Evangeline held my face in her hands.

"Look at me. I don't know how you are going to take this, but I just want you to know that I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

.

This couldn't be bad. "I want to be with you too honey."

.

"Ok, listen carefully. A miracle has happened."

.

Maybe it was Whisper giving me the thought, but I could only think of one miracle that would make Evangeline this happy.

I just stared at her beautiful face and the only thought I had was ...

"You are pregnant?"

.

She smiled, nodded her head and started crying all at the same time.

"We are going to have a baby.

Are you happy?"

.

I grabbed her, picked her up and swung her around. Then quickly, I stopped.

"I'm sorry; I didn't hurt you, did I?"

.

She shook her head.

"I am fine my love. The doctor says I am in great health and there should be no problems that he can foresee."

.

I was in heaven. I could barely speak.

.

Suddenly Whisper appeared by our side.

"What is going on?"

.

"Mommy is going to have a baby," I half yelled.

.

Whisper shrieked and floated up to Evangeline's face and hugged her. I saw her whisper something in her ear, but could not hear.

.

"What are you two talking about?"

.

Whisper turned and smiled. "It's a girl thing Daddy. You wouldn't understand."

.

"Really? Seems like a lot of girl things happening here lately."

.

Evangeline hugged Whisper.

"I think Daddy is more than a little suspicious of us."

.

Whisper laughed.

"Daddy? Don't you trust us?"

.

I put my arm around Evangeline and Whisper.

"I love both of you so much."

I looked toward the house and saw Bobby and Jessie come outside, on the veranda.

"I think we better go see our company."

.

Evangeline saw the two.

"I assume that is Bobby and Jessie?"

.

I nodded.

"Yea. I know you will love them."

.

As we neared, the two jumped off the veranda and walked toward us, smiling.

.

"Bobby, Jessie, this is Evangeline," I informed them, proudly.

.

"It is so nice to meet you, Evangeline," Jessie exclaimed, as she hugged her.

"Will talked our ear off all the way home," she added, pleasantly.

.

Bobby introduced himself and hugged her too.

.

Jessie stood back, eyeing us weirdly. "Okay, you two. What are you hiding from us?"

.

I shook my head.

"Us? Hide? Nothing."

.

Jessie laughed.

"I love you Will, but you have to be the world's worst liar."

.

I took a deep breath and looked at Evangeline. "You want to tell them."

.

She nodded excitedly.

"Will and I are having a baby."

.

There were more hugs, all around.

The four of us were so happy, but Whisper was no where to be seen.

.

I looked around and saw her, standing at the far end of the veranda, leaning against a post.

She was smiling, but there was something wrong.

.

Evangeline saw it immediately and went right to her.

"Are you ok, sweetie?"

.

Bobby and Jessie simply stared at her, as she appeared to be talking to the post.

.

Evangeline caught herself and looked back at me. She wasn't sure what to say.

.

"It's ok hun. They know about Whisper," I assured her.

.

"She can see her?" Jessie asked.

.

I nodded. "Yea she can."

.

Evangeline was kneeling in front of Whisper. "Tell Mommy what is wrong."

She kissed Whisper on the forehead.

.

"I don't know Mommy. I just started feeling a little weird. It's gone now."

.

"Are you sure, sweetie?"

.

Whisper forced a smile, but Evangeline wasn't buying the act.

She turned to me, a very serious look on her face.

"Something is wrong, Will."

.

"Really, Mommy, I am okay."

She looked at Evangeline through a child's tear filled eyes.

.

Evangeline was shaking her head.

"Baby, you are scaring me."

.

Whisper started crying.

"Something is happening Mommy. I'm scared."
