09 | dear gray
Dear Gray,
I know you've been waiting
for me to explain,
That December night when
we stayed at Half Moon Bay,
Gray, you know that there
were few things I couldn't say,
Before I left you on the
coastline for nyx,
Gray, I wish you knew
our shades could never mix.
Dear Gray,
I still remember that October night,
At Vaadhoo Island with
the glowing lights,
And Gray,
I've always chased the inky tones,
I wish I knew they were
your nemesis sworn,
But Gray, it's just like how you
chased the moon and then
slipped into the sea,
I remember it all too clearly,
Because I swear you didn't mind, didn't frown,
You had one of your brightest smiles on your face,
Suddenly, the glowing sea was the only trace that I now have left of you.
Dear Gray,
I now have some hindsight,
You were always the most colourful,
But what could I see?
I was tone-blind,
And dear Gray,
I guess even when I apologize,
You won't forget that
September night,
When we hummed folk songs in Northern Indian hills,
Laughed over story-tales and lullabies,
With the chilly air and owl's sight,
Gray, I wish you the most coloured life.
