You had feathery wings
on a steel ground,
Expected flight,
they would never let you down,
Icarus reached the sky
then dropped in the sea,
But you quietly tip-toed,
wings dragged in the dirt,
You were an Aster planted on earth.

Wanted to swim in summer seas,
But all you got was winter breeze,
And I knew your faith was autumn,
Started falling before it blossomed.

Frowning as you thought
'heaven was better',
Earth became the land of
gray vendetta,
And I see your eyes have
constellations of their own,
Spring love arrives,
with bright horoscopes,
Naked lies for a broken bruised stone,
Angel wings but
they never let you soar.

Feathers fall, bones break,
sun goes and the moon stays,
Fireflies don't always shine,
I had sky-scraping wings,
But they were never mine.

Flowers wither and bloom,
Through summer, winter,
Through May and June,
You were so afraid of the fall,
Perhaps you can't recall,
An Aster grows through it all.

a/n : I wrote this piece for one of my closest friends but I guess somewhere it's for all of us. We're all asters, waiting and wanting to grow.
