Faith's Pov

My heart was beating like crazy.

I had said yes.I had said yes for Raiya.

I was standing in front of my vanity.My life was going to change in four days.

I had informed Grace and David about this decision three days ago and to say they were shocked would be an understatement.

My 8 months pregnant sister and my brother in law had arrived yesterday morning.Yes,they came to see me.If i was alright?If i ate something or did i finally lose it?

Yes.

For the first time in her life,Grace slapped someone.James and Grace met yesterday and it was ugly.

She was already in a pissed off mood and then..there was James.Dave tried to lighten the situation but he stopped after a while.He knew that a pregnant woman acts on her hormones.

When i finally discussed the situation with her..the conversation was not so simple.

15 hours ago.

We just came back from James's house.Grace and Dave were quiet.Too quite.I was scared but i was also determined to make them see why it was absolutely necessary.My marriage to Chris.

The house was quite.Jack remained in his cot through out.I think even he felt the tension.

"Hey,umm..do you want to have some juice?I mean..its good for the baby."

Grace looked at me with a look that shouted "I dont believe you,right now."

"First,you dont tell me you met our jackass brother.Second,imagine my surprise,my little baby sister calls me upruptly and informs me that she is getting married.To a guy she met a month ago.To a guy her family knows nothing about.To a guy who already has a kid..well that one is not a problem.But Faith?What the hell is going on!!"

She huffed and sat down on the couch.The shouting had taken a toll on her.She was already tired from the travelling and this situation had not made it any thing easy for her.I feel so guilty right now.

Dave just rubbed her back slowly and i gave her a glass of water which she gulped down in a second.

Dave looked at me.

"Kid,unless you explain the situation to us correctly and by correctly i mean,the truth.Faith,trust me we wont let you do this unless you be honest with us.You are like a freaking daughter to me rather than my wife's sister!You understand this right!"

I know what he was saying and i totally understood what he meant.Grace and Dave had practically raised me up.They babied me and even after my nephew Lucas was born,i was always the priority.

"I..i know.Look guys,i want to do this.Its important to me..you guys know that i have never fallen i love right?"

"So what?You fell in love with a guy within a month?Enough to MARRY him?"
Dave glared at me.

"Faith,please sweetheart..dont tell us you are being blackmailed or something.."

Grace started crying.

"God,No!!Yes..i mean i fell in love with the kid guys.I love Raiya,his daughter.I have not felt that connection with anyone.Chris..he is a nice guy.Decent.He is also a single father..he is losing Raiya's custody guys.After his wife passed away,Raiya and him are only alive because of each other.His in laws are very powerful and they want their granddaughter.They framed him as an unfit father..i am a child counsellor,guys."

Grace blinked.

"So,you mean that you are marrying him because you want the daughter's custody to be with him?You are sarcificing your life for a kid you met..1 month ago?"

"I love that kid,Grace.Trust me if you even ask me donate an organ for her right now,i will do it without hesistation.I dont know how,when..but i feel attached."

"We are meeting the guy tomorrow.Invite him and Raiya for lunch.I am not letting you do this unless i meet him.I am not.."

Dave spoke and i gave him a nod.Its the least i could do after dropping the bomb.

These guys risked the baby for me.My sister is freaking 8 months pregnant and they travelled here in that condition.Lucas was at Dave's parents place.Anything could have happened to Grace and the baby.

I want to hit both of them right now for doing this..but then i think even they want to hit me for the stunt i pulled,according to Grace.They chose over their own baby and i felt damn guilty.So damn guilty because anything could have happened.

Present time-

Chris and I had talked to Raiya right after i had called my sister.She took it like a pro.We were shocked by how nicely she reacted.

She had hugged me and giggled and said that "I cant wait to call you mommy.Its going to be so much fun."

Chris had looked too overwhelmed so i had just kissed her forhead and came back to my place.He needed his space.

"Hey,they are coming at 12,right?Its almost time."

Dave slumped back on the couch as he munched on the pizza Grace had prepared for Lunch.

"Yes.They will be here soon.Dave,they are really nice people."

He looked at me and sighed.

"Faith,i am not denying that.But your sister and I,we care about you.Let us do it our way,its going to be fine.Dont worry."

He tapped my shoulder and gave me a smile.

The door bell rang.

"It must be them.Now Faith,be a darling and open the door.Dave,come here and help me prepare the refreshments."

Grace pretty much shouted from the kitchen.

I slowly opened the door.Chris stood there awkwardly while Raiya,she hugged me as soon as i came in her view.

"Hie Faith,daddy and i brought wine and chocolates for you guys.I missed you so much."

I looked at Chris.

"You didnt have to.."

"No.I mean,i am about to meet them...i.."

"Thats alright,please come inside."

Raiya refused to leave me so i just carried her inside.

Chris gave me an apologetic smile.He was wearing a blue and red checked shirt.I have noticed Chris has a lot of checked shirts and jackets.He is always covered up in layers.

"Hie.Oh,I am David.Faith's brother in law.You must be Chris and this must be miss adorable."

Dave appeared and smiled at Raiya.Raiya smiled back.

"Hie.Nice to meet you, Mr Scott"

They sat on the couch.Raiya was talking animatedly with Dave while Chris just answered what was asked of him.

"Hie Chris. Just Dave would do, and hello little doll.You are such a cute little thing,aren't you."

Raiya grinned at him.

Grace  brought the mousse cakes she has been preparing since morning.

Before Dave or I could take the tray from her,Chris got up and helped her.

"Hie umm..Grace,you please sit down.You should not take a lot of pressure right now.And,these look delicious."

He smiled at my sister and she just stared at him then looked at me and smiled.

I shook my head.Wow , Chris sure did know how to impress.

"Hmm..you are good,man."
Grace said and Chris just laughed.

"Hie Raiya.I am Faith's big sister..i have been hearing a lot about you from Faith."

Grace said and Raiya smiled at her shyly.

"Really?I like Faith too.She is so nice and she bakes me lots of cookies.Daddy is a terrible cook,you know.I just love his pancakes.They are nice.And you know,Faith's gonna be my new mommy?I am so happy."

Chris just looked at Grace awkwardly.

"I am sorry..she is just.."

"Its ok.Kids are the purest little humans,trust me.And i can clearly see now why our Faith gushed about Raiya so much.You have a beautiful daughter,Chris."

Dave said as he gave Raiya a chocolate bar.She grinned at him,then looked at Chris for permisson.He nodded at her.

"Aww.She is such a sweet little lady. You should see my Lucas, hurricane that one."

I just controlled my laughter. My nephew sure does keeps us on our toes.

"And Raiya,its ok.You are very lucky in that case,because your to be mommy is a fantastic cook.She is brilliant in the kitchen."

Gracd continued and Chris and I looked at her.

"We should have lunch.All up for Lasagne and Pizza guys?"

Dave said cutting off the conversation as he set the table.I went and  helped him with the food.

"So,are you guys..?"
I asked him.

"Faith,sweetheart;they are nice people.Chris seems like a nice,genuine guy and that little girl is just delightfull.She seems to love you too.Dont worry.We like them ok. Grace too."

He winked. I sighed with relief.

Lunch was nice.Chris got along well with Dave and Grace and Raiya sure did took a liking to Grace.

She non stop asked about the baby too.It was so cute.

"Hey Raiya,you know we have a son.Lucas.He will also be coming for the wedding.You can play with him.."

Grace smiled at her.

"Really?Daddy,i will have a cousin."
She smiled at Chris.

Grace looked at Chris.

"There are no other kids in the family.My elder brother is not ready to settle down and my sister is not married.My wife...she was a single child too.Raiya gets excited.."
Chris seemed to look at Raiya who was excitedly playing with Jack now.

"Its ok,Chris.Faith told us everything.Its going to turn out all nicely now,dont worry.There is just one thing we want to talk to you.."

I looked at Grace.What is it?

"Chris,Faith is more of a daughter than a baby sister.And your marriage,it has a different reason.You guys are not in love..i..am just worried.I mean..i am sure with time things will be alright.But please,promise us she will be taken care of.."

Chris stopped her mid way,then looked at me.

"Grace,Faith is doing so much for us.I dont think any amount of thank yous are enough..its more than that.I respect your sister a lot.Trust me,i promise to always take care of her."

Grace wiped her tears.

"Thank you so much."

I am feeling embarrased now.

"Hey,umm..we should leave now.Its so nice to meet you guys.Raiya,come on.Say goodbye to David,Faith and Grace."

Raiya kissed Grace and Dave on the cheeks.

"Come on,i will see them of to the door.."

I looked at Grace and she gave me a nod.

"Chris,thanks.I mean.."

He just smiled at me.

"You are thanking me?God Faith,you dont have to.Umm,actually i have something.Its..we are getting married.You should have an engagement ring."

"I selected it.I went with daddy for ring shopping."

Raiya grinned.

"Here.."

Chris slipped the ring on my finger.It was simple solitaire ring with a diamond in between.I loved it.

So pretty.

"Umm..thanks.Its beautiful."

Go,this must be the most awkward proposal in history.

"God,daddy,Faith!you guys are so silly.Aunt Nysa was right,Daddy will always be a quite mouse."

Chris and I looked at Raiya.She had perched her hands on her little hips.

It was so funny.

And then we laughed,all three of us.Right then i knew,this was going to turn out well.
