Faith's Pov-

"I really miss you,Faith.You are the best aunty ever."

Lucas whined.We were video calling each other on Skype.He was currently snuggled on Grace's lap while David grinned at me.

"Champ i will come visit you all soon."

He sniffed.

"Squirt,you know we are just one call away.Anyone says anything or does anything to my squirt will get a severe beating."

Dave hummed.

I shook my head while Grace smacked his arm.

"Behave yourself honey.Faith is not a 10 year old."

Dave just scoffed.

I rolled my eyes and looked at Grace.

She put her hands up and bowed down.

"I cant do anything about it.He goes over protective over you.Thank god we are having a son next."

She tapped her tummy.I looked at her shocked.

"Uhh;but you told me it was girl??Lucas even planned for her pink tutu?"

I looked at my nephew who pouted.

"Well,the Dr was an idiot."

Lucas scoffed.

"Hey two dollars in the swear jar."
Grace glared at him.

"Huh..noo."

He screamed and ran away.I laughed.

"So the dr made a mistake with the gender??"

"Yep.He did.I nearly strangled him.You know i always wanted a daughter.It was like a joke but does not matter, we have you.So yeah.It's all settled."
Dave grinned at me and i shook my head.

"Well,looks like i am going to have my two boys.Can't have more.News alert-The Dr told me not to get pregnant again because it's high risk."

Grace sighed.

"That's ok sweetheart.Faith is like our daughter so no worries."

I grinned at Grace.

"Yes mommy.You know i love you."

I winked at my sister who smiled through her tears.

"Take care squirt.We are just a call away.Ok??"

"Yep i know.Take care of yourselves and my nephews."

I shut down the laptop and looked around the house.I can't believe i got this house.

It belonged to Dave's cousin who had moved to Africa for some research work so here i was;all settled in.

I heard laughter.More like giggling.

I turned to see a little girl running around with her dog in the house beside mine.

Jack meowed next to me.I grinned.

"Well,looks like you are gonna have a friend soon.Just hope he feels the same around you."

Jack was a very different cat.For most cats;they usually detest dogs but no, Jack was a different case.He loved being around them.He lost one eye when he was kitten.I saw him running in my garage 4 years ago and since then i had him.He was a maniac too by the way.Crazy about music.

I locked the door and took Jack with me.

The little girl was playing with her dog,a husky i presume.She looked to be around 6 or 7.

She looked at me and then stopped playing.I smiled at her.

"Hi."

She brought her dog along with her and came closer to me.

"Hie.Daddy said not to talk to strangers."

I almost laughed.

"Well,i am your neighbour.I just moved next door two days ago.I am Faith and this guy here is Jack."

She grinned and gave Jack a pat who meowed and tried to snuggle with her dog.Typical.

"He has one eye."

"Well,he lost one as a baby."

"Aww,but he is still so cute.I am Raiya and this is Moose."

Moose was a big grey and white husky.Such a beautiful dog.Jack definitely had a new obsession as he tried to snuggle Moose.

"I think my cat likes your dog."

"Well everyone likes Moose.Daddy got him for me on my birthday,last year."

She smiled.Her smile was adorable.She was a pretty kid.Blonde hair,blue eyes.

"Uhh..i should go now.Bye Bye.It was nice meeting you Faith.Bye Jack."

She ran away along with Moose.

While Jack protested.I immediately glared at him and took him in my arms.

"You big baby.Behave yourself!!Why are you like that??"

He meowed loudly and just snuggled in my arms.I shook my head and laughed.

"Lets get you home now.We have to feed Fennel too."

His ears perked up and he jumped off my lap and ran inside our house.Jack detests Fennel.He just tolerates his presence.

Fennel was my birthday gift from Lucas.My baby bunny.He was just so cute and squishy.

Fennel hopped around in his wooden box.I brought him out and gave him a pat.He snuggled closer.

After feeding Fennel and Jack i did not really know what i was supposed to do.It was boring.I took out a book and tried reading.

Nope.Cannot do it.I just was not into it.It was around midnight when i saw that lights in Raiya's house were still on.

A guy was walking in the balcony along with a child on his shoulder.It looked like he was trying to pat and sooth the kid.That must be Raiya and her dad.

I dont know why i did it but i did it anyway.I opened the door of my balcony and stepped outside.The guy must be around 30 or so.He had an unshaved moustache and beard.He looked really fit,very tall and looked like he was too much into working out because of his sturdy lean but well defined frame.

I realised that i was staring.I caught him looking at me.I smiled at him.He just closed the lights of the balcony and carried Raiya inside.Well,that was rude.Should have atleast returned the smile.

Anyway.He was a married guy.He probably thought i was trying to flirt or whatever.He was very attractive though.

Well,that was intresting.I looked at the clock to see it was already 12:30.Oh no,i have to wake up early tomorrow.It's my first day at school.

I quickly went inside;closing the balcony door behind me.Sleep has to come soon.

Chris's Pov-

Raiya had a nightmare again.I closed my eyes trying to get over the fact that my kid was in trauma.

Moose barked loudly gaining my attention.It was already 6 in the morning.

I went to Raiya's room to wake her up.To my shock,she was already ready and sitting on her bed with Moose beside her.

"Hey kiddo.You are up so early!"

I ruffled her hair and put her on my lap.

"I could not sleep.Mommy came in my dreams.It was not good."

I sighed.

"You should have came to me baby."

"I did not want to disturb you daddy."

"You can wake me up anytime Ry,wont ever disturb me.Ok."

She didn't say anything.

"Anyway,lets get breakfast for you and Moose."

I carried her and Moose followed us.

"So your highess,what do you want to have this morning."

"Umm..Some pancakes please.Blue berry pancakes."

I smiled.

"Alright mademoiselle."

She giggled.

I heard meowing.Cat.

Moose immediately jumped up to see the source of the noise.There was a cat on our doorstep.

"Oh that's Jack."

Raiya grinned and brought that cat inside.

"Oh my god.You..you ungrateful brat..."

I heard a woman shouting as she came inside.She then looked at me and Raiya.She was the same woman i saw last night.She was like really short and petite and had long brown hair.Her green-hazel eyes reminded me of..some one.

"I am so sorry.He just ran to see your dog."

I looked at her.

"Oh i am sorry.I did not introduce myself.I am Faith Hempstead.I just moved next door two days ago.Raiya and I met yesterday."

She smiled at Raiya who grinned at her.

"Yep daddy.I met Faith and Jack yesterday.Jack likes Moose ,i think."

She giggled and gave a Jack a pat who was really staring at Moose who looked unamused.

That cat had one eye.Ok.

"That is ok.No problem.I am Christian Crawford.Raiya's father.Why dont you take a seat.I am making pancakes."

"Oh no.Thank you but i am getting late.It's my first day at work today.I moved from Tennesse just for this job and i am already late.Oh my god."

She looked as if she was having a conversation with herself.

"Where are you working by the way?"

"Oh.In Canton High.I will be teaching 2nd grade."

Raiya grinned at me while i smiled.

"Well i will drop you if you would stay for breakfast.Raiya goes to Canton too and she is in 2nd grade.So technically,you are my daughter's teacher."

"Oh that's such a coincidence!!Woah.I will be taking your art class."

She grinned at Raiya who looked excited too.I served her and she smiled at me.

"I am glad.I did not really like Mrs Whittle.She was snobby and did not give us much to do.I love the art class but she was boring.I am glad you transfered."

Faith smiled.

"Well,i love arts too.I hope to make the class entertaining for you and your friends.These pancakes are amazing by the way.Thank You Christian."

I smiled at her.

"No problem.Come on,lets drop you guys to school."

"Uggh..you did not have your breakfast."

"Ohh i usually have it in my office.I am a civil engeenier.Right now,i am working on a building just near Canton High so its not very far away.I will have my breakfast there."

She gave me a strange look and shrugged.I sighed.Even strange neighbours are noticing my unsual habbits.

"Come on daddy lets go.Faith come"

"Umm.Ok.I will just drop Jack home and come.I hope you guys wont mind waiting."

"Oh no issues.Its ok."

She grabbed Jack and went outside.

I looked at Raiya.

"When did you meet her?"

"Oh when i went outside to play with Moose.She was walking with Jack.She seems nice.I am happy she replaced Mrs Whittle."

"Well that's good."

I smiled at my daughter.

"Ummm..lets go."

Faith was already at the door.Her long hair was now tied in a high ponytail and she was carrying a bag now.

The ride was silent.Raiya was talking to Faith about arts and everything.My daughter had taken a liking to her new teacher.No doubt there.

I did not know what to say.I was not very good with strangers.

We were already at Canton High.Raiya had stepped outside as she waved goodbye to Faith and me.

"See you in class Miss Hempstead.Bye daddy."

She smiled and ran away.

Faith looked at me.

"Thank You for dropping me Christian.It was nice meeting you."

"Thats fine.Umm..All the Best.Its your first day.Good bye."

She smiled and gave me a nod.

I started the car and took off.
