Faith's POV-

Christmas brought gifts that were anything but expected.

Daphne was a sweet,nice woman.Tristan and her,they had a long talk.Very awkward for Chris and I,we had to stay there to make sure they did not commit any murders in our dining room.

Chris had nudged me and wishpered"If i stay here for more than 5 minutes,i believe i will commit a murder myself."

It was so awkward.Tristan insisted that Sonia stays nearby,probably Canton so that he can be with her anytime he wants.He had lost 7 years and although he was surprised but still felt bad.

Thats what you get for knocking up a vulnerable 18 year old.Poor Daphne.

She had whapped Tristan upside his head and clearly stated that she had a life in Indiana,and she would not be moving here.

Conclusion-Tristan might have to move..unless,he files a case against her.Which was very much possible by the way the guy stormed out and Chris practically ran after him.It was dramatic.

"Faith,how can i just move here leaving everything behind like that.I work in a damn beauty salon.I am a hair stylist,i have been saving my ass off to open one of my own and last month i finally cracked a deal.I am an orphan Faith.Grew up in an orphanage and have been a single mother for the last 7 years.I love Sonia,god knows I do but sometimes i feel like if ..No i dont want to say it.He is such an asshole."

She was crying now.I sighed.

"Daphne,i dont know how you are feeling because i have never been through something like that.But,i want to tell you something today,sometimes things are very complicated.You are never too sure about your decisions might bring for you.You have to take a risk and wait to see how your card works out.As for the salon,if you ever decide to shift..ever,i know some people.Actually Chris is a civil engineer,he will design and construct your salon for free.Trust me.As for your budget..it will be managed.Its your call,Daphne.Tristan is a photographer,even if moves to Indiana..it wont matter because he is moving around all the time.But if you move here,Sonia can atleast be around her family.We like you Daphne.Julie and Henry would never have let you stay if they did not like you."

"How can you be so sure,Faith?Leaving everything behind..i dont know."

"Ok,first of all i am not sure because it is not simple.Moving here or staying in Indiana,its completely your decision.No one will force you.Second thing,Tristan is an idiot but he is not a bad guy.Look Daphne,let me tell you something.I moved here 3 months ago.I lived next door..i saw Raiya and then totally fell for that girl.She was so pretty,so full of life and something just pulled me towards her.."

"Oh my god!So Raiya is not your biological daughter?But she and you are so comfortable and.."

She stopped then looked at me.I just smiled.

"Yes.I did not give birth to her.But I love her to pieces and I know that kid loves me too.Daphne,Raiya deserves a mother and I want to be that person for her.There is nothing I won't do for that child."

Daphne just sighed.

"You make everything seem so simple."

"I try.. though it's never simple.Trust me,I have a fair share of my own demons to handle."

She wiped her tears.

"Umm..it might sound off but,I am really hungry."

I just grinned.

"I thought you would never say so.Its Christmas,come on.Cheer up.Let me serve you a good piece of dinner.And Daphne,don't worry.Time heals everything."

She smiled at me.

Chris had now brought a visibly calmer Tristan.He looked more relaxed.I wonder what my husband had said to stop his outbursts.

"Hey,can you give me something to eat Faith.I suddenly feel hungry again."

I rolled my eyes.The guy just had a lot of food and was complaining not even an hour ago that he was so full,he might burst.Tristan sure is a character.

"Sure.There's a lot of food.Help yourself."

He just grinned.Even Daphne looked creeped out a bit.I looked at Chris.

"Umm excuse me guys! I need Faith for a moment."
I followed Chris out of the room,still keeping an eye on Tris.Something was fishy.

"Yes!You need her for sex!Chris and Faith sitting under a tree..."

Now he was singing.And the subject was awkward.

"You shut up idiot!What is wrong with you!"
I heard Daphne shout.

Chris just sighed at me.

"Ok what is wrong with him?"

"He had a stack of spiked weed brownies..he hid them in the guest room.It was for pranking Dad and I.Idiot,gobbled them up himself."

"Oh my god!Daphne!please put all the desserts and beverages away from him."

This was the first thing that came out of mouth.Chris started laughing.

I glared at him.

"Why did you not stop him?"

"Well,he was not willing to listen and he had infact gobbled them before i figured out."

I face-palmed.We have three kids in the house-Raiya,Sonia and of course Tristan.

"We'll have to use a fucking tranquilizer to calm him down.Faith,you entertain Daphne.I will take care of the moron.Dont worry,dad will help me out."

"Alright.Shout,if you need anything."

He just snickered.

"Hey Faith?"

I turned around and looked at him with my raised eyebrows.

"The food was awesome.I loved it."

I smiled.

"Thanks."

He was still standing there and even i did not leave.

"Chris,do you want something else?"

"I..uh..umm i think i should take care of Tris."

He practically rushed to the dining room leaving me all confused.

What was that about?Not thinking much about that i went in the kitchen where Daphne was already doing the dishes.

"Oh you dont have to.I'll do it.Dont worry."

I took the plate from her.She rolled her eyes.

"You really are sweet."

I shrugged.

"Hey,why dont you go interact with Nysa and the girls.Just go upstairs.Second room from the right,its the room Nysa is staying right now."

She looked nervous.

"Daphne,they will love you.Dont worry.I'll join you in ten minutes."

She smiled and left me in the kitchen.

I wiped the plates and placed them in the cupboard and hurried upstairs to first check on Tris.

He was passed out on the bed while Chris and Henry were just enjoying wine.

"Uh..so easy?"

"Oh Faith.Idiot passed out after he drank water.It will be ok.Dont worry."

Henry smiled and continued drinking.Chris just shrugged.

"Ok.I am going to talk to Daphne and meet Sonia too."

"Yeah.Sonia.Pretty child;cannot believe i have another grand child.Hey,but i knew this day would come someday.Tristan has a habit of giving wonderful surprises."

Henry smirked.Chris just laughed.

"Come on dad,you are tipsy.Go sleep before mom lectures you.Faith,i have to talk to you about something.Lets go to our room."

I looked at him.

Bolting the door he made me sit on the bed.

"Faith,i have been doing some serious thinking about Raiya.Her outbursts and breakdowns have completely stopped since we got married.You really have changed everything;and that too in a wonderful way.She is finally behaving like a carefree 7 year old."

I smiled.

"So that's what you wanted to say downstairs..when you ubruptly left me wondering if my husband did go all awkward on me?"

He just shrugged.

"Yeah.I just,i also wanted to give you something.You see Raiya and I some Christmas shopping for you when i took her to the park yesterday."

"She already gave me the gift.I loved it.Thank you Chris."

"No.No.You dont understand.She got her own gift for you.I got you something else."

"Oh...umm so what is it?"

He gave me a box.Jewellary box.

"Open it.I was not sure if you would like it..Nysa told me you were into antique stuff and everything."

I smiled and opened the box.And there it was;the most beautiful necklace I had even seen.A gorgeous ruby pendant.It looked pretty old and it was so beautiful.

"Chris this is so beautiful.Thank you.I love it.But this must be really expensive and.."

"No.Actually,i helped the owner with his shop so i got a good price.Dont worry.I am just glad you like it.Merry Christmas,Faith."

"Thank you Chris.Now if would just help me wear it.A women got to show this off.Trust me."

He smiled and tied it around my neck.

"Hey,by the way did you get those tickets?"

He smiled.

"Yeah.Thanks,i still cannot believe  you got those free passes for that Scandinavian tour."

"Dont you underestimate me,i told you i am very good in history.Won all the five rounds..now we will be visiting Sweden,Finland and Neatherlands.I am so excited,Chris.Raiya is going to love this."

"Well,this is going to totally give her a sugar rush,with all those candies she's sneaking in and now this trip!"

I laughed.

"Its worth it.Now,i am going to see how Daphne is faring and we also have little Sonia to smolther now.Chris,i had a packet of mint chocolate packed for some kids in my school.They are in the kitchen cupboard,i forgot to bring them upstairs.Please bring them to Nysa's room.I want to give them to Sonia."

"Alright.You go,i will come with those chocolates."

I smiled.

As soon as I went inside Nysa smirked at me.I rolled my eyes.

"That is one pretty pendant Faith.Chris sure knows how to buy jeweallary."

"Wow,Mommie that is so pretty."

"I know baby.Dad got me a nice gift.Now you tell me,did you show Sonia around the house?"

"Yeah i did.I also showed her my paintings and colors.You know mommy,Sonia loves books.She said she wanted to be an editor when she grows up."

I looked at Sonia.She smiled sweetly.

"Hie Sonia.I am your aunt Faith,and its so good to meet you."

"Its good to meet you too.I love those paintings you helped Raiya with."

I smiled.

"Maybe we can do it sometime too.You,Raiya and I."

"Yes!"

I laughed.

Chris brought those candies and gave them to Sonia and Raiya.

Nysa stole some too.Daphne seemed to getting along fine with everyone.

Its just Tristan who freaked out,but then he found out he was a dad to a 8 year old.Bound to freak out.

I slowly carassed my pendant and smiled.

Woah.I cant believe i updated.Lol.So sorry was away for like 567899 days.Will try to update more often.

I hope everyone is safe from the covid virus.
