So I noticed how short chapter 5 was so sorry and here you go....

Chapter 6

“Oh daddy do something” just then the Medic came and assessed him. They brought out the flat board and they carried him out to the Medical tent. I walked with them holding on to Chances hand all the way to the tent.

He looked like he was in pain and I didn’t know what to do. I can’t believe it I’m trained for this kind of stuff. But at the moment I feel like a basket case.

Little by little he started to stir. “Doc he looks like he’s waking up.”

“Well hello there Chance, didn’t you get the memo about no sleeping on the job.”

“Very funny Doc. did I get hurt bad.”

“I don’t know son I was waiting till you got up so I could check you and determine if you need to go to the hospital or not.”

The Doc. proceeded to check his reflexes and his movement. Then he checked his eyes. Oh no his pupils are dilated.

“Chance nothing seems to be broken but you do have a concussion. Your going to need to be woken up every 2 hours during the night. Is some one staying with you?’

“I can stay with him” I said.

That was when he noticed I was there next to him. He turned to me and narrowed his eyes and glared at me “that hurt my head to do.” I get up and go to him and grab his hand and he lets go of mine.

“So who are you.”

“Chance I’m sorry I was going to tell you.”

“Tell me what. That you have been playing with me and Luke.”

“No it’s not like that.”

“where you laughing behind our back and the stupid cowboys that couldn’t tell you apart.”

“Chance please let me explain.”

“You had a month to explain. Now I don’t want to hear anything you have to say.”

“Chance.”

He raises his hand and says “please just get away from me.” Then he turns to the doctor “I feel like I’m going to throw up.”

“Yes son your also going to have a mean headache and be dizzy. Do you think this is the time to be fighting with your girl. Your going to need help tonight.”

“She’s not my girl and I can get my brother to help.”

I felt like my heart was breaking and he didn’t even give me a chance to explain. I feel the tears threaten to escape my eyes and I get up and run out of the tent and into Luke.

“Is he ok” I nod yes “what’s wrong then.”

“We where going to tell you guys today. You see I loved Chance but he thought he loved Mary Joe. But he liked the one with the birthmarks by her breasts.” I blush and he looks at me all confused.

I take a deep breath “I have the birthmarks by my breast and I’m Leah.” His eyes narrow just like Chance.

“But He thought he was in love with Mary Joe. But it was me that summer he saw not her.” It looked like he was starting to understand.

“He was not going to give me a Chance so we switched names and I fell in love with him and I know he fell in love with me. But now he thinks we where laughing at him and playing a game. All I wanted was a chance to prove to him that he should be with me not Mary Joe.”

I give him a dirty look “Because she liked you not him. I thought the feeling was mutual but hey I guess we were mistaken.”

“So let me get this straight all these years he thought he loved Mary Joe it was you he was in love with.”

I smile “you got it.” Then I frown “but he just said I was not his girl. He won’t listen to me. So I’m leaving please take care of him tonight the doctor will explain.”

I run to find my father and when he looks at my face he opens his arms wide and I run into them. “He said I’m not his girl.

“Oh pumpkin I should have seen you guys were pulling that same thing you would do in high school. Chance is a very proud and stubborn man. Let me guess he feels you were playing a game with him.”

“We only did what we needed to do he thought he loved Mary Joe. But it was me he loved. Now he doesn’t.” I continue to cry.

“You ok”

I turn to look at Mary Joe “no, did you hear what I told dad.”

“Yea I did, men are just so stubborn.”

“You know what girls I think you need some time away to think about things. You also need to let these boys cool off and miss you a little. Trust your old man, Why don’t you head on out and see Judy. You said you wanted to go see her baby and all the Codey offspring also.”

“Will you be ok daddy.”

“What I’m good as new you girls git.”

We kissed him then headed to the hotel to call Judy and then catch the first plain back to Austin.

Chance’s POV

Holy shit I got played. I can’t believe I didn’t see that she always seemed to make a mistake when naming her sister. Then every time I kissed her and called her Mary Joe she would stiffen in my arms. That’s why I started to call her baby girl.

I run my fingers through my hair and feel the lump on the back of my head. Shit that hurts. Then I see Luke enter the tent.

“Your supposed to stay on the bull not use it as a lunching pad.”

I glare at him “Very funny.”

“So I saw Leah walk out crying.”

I laugh sarcastically “Yea Leah not Mary Joe.”

“Brother do you love her?’

“Shut up my head hurts I don’t want to talk about it.”

“Well you better.”

I cut him off with my hand “I have a concussion and I said to shut up.”

He shakes his head then shrugs his shoulders.

“Hey doc if I do good tonight can I ride tomorrow?”

Luke’s POV

Later that night…..

“My head is killing me.”

“Oh stop complaining and just take the pain killers.” I have no patience with him.

“Be nice to me.”

“I don’t have to be, I could be out getting laid but no you had to fight with Leah Now I have to play nurse to a drama queen.”

“I said I didn’t want to talk about her and I‘m telling mom your not treating me nice.”

“Well if your going to want me to help you your going to have to listen to me you big jack ass.”

Leah’s POV

I cried myself to sleep last night. I can’t believe I didn’t tell him sooner. I ruined everything for myself.

“Leah you have to eat something or your going to get sick.”

“I don’t want to eat.”

‘You acting like a baby.”

That only makes me start to cry. Chance would call me his baby.

“oh I’m sorry honey”

We finally made it to Judy’s house and when we got there I saw the most adorable little girl ever. They named her Angelina after Judy’s mom. She is perfect just perfect. She’s almost 6 months and the perfect combination of Judy and William.

“So what happened with Luke and Chance.”

Mary Joe’s eyes turn cold and my eyes water.

“Oh no that’s not a good sign.” I nod my head no and go into the whole story of what happened between us.

“He left you guys no choice. Damn stubborn men I know he told William he felt tingles on his body when you massaged him that day here in the house. Then Luke kept teasing him cause I guess you gave him a hard on.” she whispered the last part and we all blushed.

“It was funny you should have seen them the first week they didn’t know who we where.”

“I don’t get it you to do look identical but you act different. I can tell you apart.”

I look at Mary Joe “really, hum let me get this straight if we both wear the same outfit and the same scent you will be able to tell us apart?”

“Damn, no it was the fact that she wears lavender and you wear coconut that helps me tell you apart.”

I laugh I think that helped them also after we told them who was who. But I guess just backwards since they think Mary Joe smells like Coconut and Leah like lavender.”

“Well don’t worry things have a way of working out. For now lets just have fun. How long are you guys staying?”

Mary Joe looked at me then shrugged “I don’t know maybe a week or two if that’s ok.”

“yea that sounds good to me to” I say.

That night we got invited to the Codey’s for dinner.

“Oh my lord look at all these babies.” They all laugh

“Wait let me see if I got this right Judy and William have Angelina who‘s almost 6 months. Frank and Jean have Frank Jr. who is a year and one month.” They laugh and say yes.

“Leo and Sam had a little boy named Logan and he is 3 months old. Luis and Lucy Had a girl named Sabrina who is almost 4 months. Then Mike and Casey had a boy who is 2 months named Walker after.”

“He’s named after his Grandpa, because he’s going to be big and strong.” Mr. Codey s says laughing.

“Waite lets not forget the big sister Hope who is almost 3 years old.”

“I’m the big sister and now there’s a lot of babies with stinky diapers.” said little Hope.

“wow guys you guys sure have been busy” laughed Mary Joe.

“But that’s not all” said Sam “Do you remember Tim and Ben had a commitment ceremony when Luis and Lucy got married.”

“Yes I remember, that was a surprise.”

“Well Kim and Tammy got together and caught the baby fever. So last month Kim got inseminated with Tim’s sperm and now they are going to have a baby. Can you imagine that baby will have 2 moms and 2 dads.”

“No way. I’m happy that Tim is making Ben happy I would see him at the rodeo every year and he always looked sad.” said Mary Joe.

We were having a lot of fun I guess all the pina coladas we were dinking had a lot to do with it. “I think Garth Brooks had it right when he said you should give me 2 pins coladas . One for each hand.”

Then we all just started singing that song. Cause you know Garth Brooks ROCKS!!!!!!

We made it home that night and I was so tiered and drunk I just knocked out.
