Chapter 37

Angela's POV

*
Catalina?"

I heard stomping and then the door flung open. In the next second, she had her arms around me in a hug.

"What happened?" My stomach was in a knot as I led her back into the room.

"My mom. She's dead. She's gone. They killed her!" She choked on her sobs.

Who?! I wondered and patted her back, trying to calm her down at least.

"What happened?" Eros asked, leaving the door ajar as he came in. I spared him worried glance. He must've also heard her shout just now.

"Catalina. She just started crying, mentioning her mom." I told him in a worried tone.

I caressed the crying girl's back while she sobbed on my shoulder.

"I'll get mom right now. Comfort her till I get back. Don't let her step out of this room." Eros instructed and went out.

"Okay." I patted Catalina's back, wondering what was happening in her life at the moment. "It's okay Catalina, just calm down. Please."

She pulled away from me and paced the room, her eyes bloodshot.

"Why? I gave him everything he wanted. He kept asking and I...I kept giving him. He didn't have to go to this length after everything he did to us."

"What's happening Catalina? Who are you talking about?" I asked worriedly. She finally stopped pacing, as if she was now just registering the fact that she wasn't alone.

"M-my-" she looked up at me and gasped. "Dinah. I have to call Dinah right away, she must be in trouble already. He, he's trouble himself. Why does bad things keep happening to me? Why can't I just have one moment of peace for goodness sake?" She resumed her pacing, sobbing harder.

"Catalina calm down. Talk to me." I was getting really worried already.

Eros, where are you?

As if he could hear my thoughts, he returned with his mom hot on his tail. Ritalin quickly went to hug a sobbing Catalina.

"My sweet baby, what's wrong?" Ritalin asked a tearful Catalina, who heaved as she tried to stop the tears from flowing any further though that was futile.

"My mom. Someone harmed her, I mean...she just got shot. Hopefully she's still alive and not dead as he said." She relayed with a tearful face. I and Ritalin exchanged shocked glances and dragged our eyes back to the pregnant girl.

"Jesus! Who would do such a thing?" Ritalin demanded rhetorically.

Catalina pulled out of Ritalin's hold and wiped her tears, picking her bag and looking around in the process. "I have to go right now. My sister, Dinah. She's probably in trouble right now and I can't afford to have her stay there alone-"

"She'll be alright." Eros's tone was clipped and emotionless. He blocked her way as she made for the door.

Catalina whipped her head up to eye him, shock written all over her place.

"You don't know that! She could be hurt already as we're speaking!" She pushed at his chest but Eros stood rooted in his spot, one hand still pocketed while he stared at her with a blank expression. The sight of her pregnant struggling form worried me even more.

Catalina made a hasty move to maneuver her way towards the door when Eros still didn't speak but he caught her wrist and held her back.

"Catalina wait. I can't let you leave this house." He told her plainly.

She looked at him with hurtful eyes, as if he just confessed to killing someone she loved. Her face contorted to rage and she punched his chest repeatedly but he grabbed her hands.

I and Ritalin exchanged worried glances again and Ritalin moved closer to them.

"Let me leave this place! I have to get my sister and you can't keep me here against my will. She'll suffer in the hands of that psycho! She'll get-" she shouted at him, tears streaming down. I glared at Eros impatiently. Couldn't he handle this more calmly? At least he should look at the situation this girl was in.

"Geronimo is with her already." Eros informed.

Catalina stopped struggling immediately. She blinked, calming down a little. "Really?"

"Yes. Calm down Catalina. This isn't good for the baby." I added pleadingly.

"She's with Geronimo and they're on their way here." Eros explained when she still looked at him doubtfully.

"Eros is right. Your sister will be alright since she's already on her way here as we speak. Why don't you tell mom what's wrong and let's know what step to take next?" Ritalin asked to lighten things and Catalina turned around to face us.

"I can't tell you. He promised to find a way to harm me and my baby if I did." She bit her lower lip as fresh set of tears started pouring down her rosy cheeks again.

Ritalin shook her head, giving her a calm, motherly smile that seemed to calm Catalina. "He won't harm you or my grandchild. Trust me."

"Promise?" She sniffed.

"Yes, love. I promise you. We have so many guards here and you know how scary Geronimo can get when it has to do with you. You're safe here dear." My mother-in-law replied warmly, caressing the pregnant lady's rosy cheeks.

Catalina gulped and looked around the room, then at me and Eros with pleading eyes.

"Will you talk to me, please? I'm worried about you. We all are." Ritalin told her gently, taking her bag from her while patting her shoulder. I collected the bag while they were talking and dropped it on the bed.

She looked at me and Eros again and Ritalin sighed in understanding.

"Why don't you take Angela out for some fresh air, Erosio? I'll ring any of the helps if we need anything."

Eros nodded and we left the room.

He took me to his room, which was still neatly tidied and in order as if he was still staying with his family.

This was the same room we usually spent our nights whenever I was visiting his family with him and staying the night.

The moment I stepped in and he entered behind me, he locked the door and bolted it.

I took slow steps towards his window and hugged myself, wrapping my arms around my torso.

"What's wrong with her Eros?" I asked in a small voice.

"Don't worry about it. It's just some family issue." He assured me, coming behind me.

I turned around and cleared my throat. "Did someone really kill her mom?"

"No. The person said that to scare her. You see, here's the thing." He started and took off his suit jacket, placing it on the hanger.

"Tell me." I urged while he took off his tie. I didn't see the need for him to wear a tie but then he'd been to the office very early today and only came over to pick me before we came here today so he didn't bother changing his clothes or even showering.

"Her dad...is a drunkard. She didn't have the best childhood and she always had issue with being overweight so he has always made her feel less of herself. I think it's still an issue Geronimo is dealing with at the moment. She really needs emotional healing and support." He explained, looking like he had something on his mind.

I shook my head at his words. This was too much for one person!

"Where is the bastard now?" I gritted my jaws.

"Sadly, he was the same person that just told her that he has killed her mother."

I frowned. "You were with Ritalin all along. How do you know he didn't kill her? Also, is she really not dead?"

"I don't know yet but Geronimo will handle it. He told me all the things I just told you on the phone a while ago and he doesn't want her to meet that man anymore. The man is a threat to their child."

I hugged him. "Oh Eros, that girl has gone through a lot..." I groaned when I remembered he still hadn't taken his bath and I was now hugging him. "Let's go take a shower."

"Together?" His eyes darkened as he pulled me impossibly closer to him.

"No. Separately." I rolled my eyes.

"Why separately? When we can bathe together and save water." He asked hoarsely, leveling me an intense stare.

"Seriously? We were just having an intense discussion and your mind is already in the gutter now. Well, you have money to pay for the water even if it runs out, which we both know will never happen."

I began taking off my clothes right in front of him, making sure I did it slowly. His eyes were on me, feasting on every single part of my body and butterflies danced giddily in my stomach.

"But baby..." he groaned, licking his lips. "Okay, fine. I won't eat you up."

My left eyebrow quirked at him questioningly, knowing he was yet to complete that declaration and I took of the past piece of clothing which was my hot pink lace pantie.

"Except you beg me." I wiggled my butt, feeling naughty.

"Like I will." He growled.

I sashayed into the bathroom and turned on the shower.

I won't let him touch me. We're at his parents place and even though he already told me the walls are soundproof, I wouldn't risk it.

"What were we discussing earlier on?" Eros asked as he came behind me and shut the door, bolting it.

I muttered a curse under my breath. Why did I leave the door unlocked?!

"Nothing I wish to continue with you right now, Eros. Let's just bathe and go out there to check up on Catalina." I kept my back turned to him.

He placed his hands on my shoulder and planted a kiss on my back. "You're tense. Let me ease the tension out of you baby. Everything will be alright."

His hands roamed around my torso and my breasts.

"No Eros..." I tried to sound firm. Keyword being 'tried.'

Few minutes later, Eros had me raised up in the air, his face dug into my most feminine parts as I sat on his shoulder and his tongue was eliciting moans of pleasure from my lips.

Eros and I left the room after a good deal of time in there.

We saw Geronimo leaving Catalina's room just as we entered the hallway and I sped my way to him.

He raised his head up just as I stepped right in front of him, looking like he was lost in thought. "Hey sis-in-law. How are you?"

"I'm fine. How is she?" I asked quickly, my tone expectant.

"She's resting now. Thanks for being there, for her...I mean. Mom told me everything."

I shook my head. "It's nothing. What about her sister?"

"They're in there together." He gestured with his thumb pointing over his shoulder. "I'm giving them some sibling space."

"That's great. As long as they're both okay."

"Yeah. You could go in to check on them. They've been there for about an hour now. My mom left not quite long ago."

I stole a glance at Eros. This was all his fault. Him and his roaming hands didn't make me realize time had been far spent. But I was a willing partner too, so it wasn't entirely his fault.

"Have you sorted it?" Eros asked his brother who nodded.

"Hmm. Two of Luca's men joined me there. Did you tell him?"

Eros shook his head a little.

"He's Luca. He would know." I told both of them and they agreed, nodding. Since that had been settled, I grabbed Eros's elbow.

He looked down at me with a doting expression. "Are you hungry?"

"Yes." I nodded. "I could also tell one of the helps to bring Catalina something when I get downstairs. What does she like?" I asked Geronimo.

"Ice-cream. And salad. She's allowed to take a bowl of ice cream if she's going to eat salad with it. The ice-cream is always stored in the refrigerator downstairs to easily satisfy her cravings." He told me smartly and I smiled at their bargain.

"Alright then. Let's get ourselves and the pregnant lady something to eat." I joked and we all went downstairs to get something to eat.
