Chapter 18: Returned.
Thayel
I had an unusual dream as I deeply slept. However, everything was just a dark vacuity, until I arose weakly aware that it was barely a dream yet I questioned myself why am I in the arms of Legolas while he was quietly riding his horse. I was too hesitant to speak, even calling his name was too hard for me.
My head was leaning on Legolas's arm. I attempt to examine the expression on his face, he seems concerned and unsettled, his eyes do not flicker at any moment as his mouth quivered. I gathered all my strength to touch his chest slowly with my hand to let him perceive that I was conscious. His heart that pounded as fast as the sounds of hooves that ran and hit the ground made me twitch a touch and keep my hand momentarily away from his chest.
Gradually, the pace of Legolas's horse decreased as it eventually settled, Legolas was soundless and did not move a little such as statue for a moment. His jaw shifted strongly as a stone, his eyes were lustrous as if he was proceeding himself to cry.
Slowly but sure, he contemplated down to see my face. Legolas seemed quite afraid once it was really visible. Nothing but sorrow has been illustrated on his face like there is no peace were in the Mirkwood.
.
Dark, dark clouds began to thump synchronically and assembled to form a sky full of melancholy. Legolas dropped his tears, falling down my cheeks and then gently streamed down my locks. He decided to smile as he slowly caressed my cheek with his hands and fingers very frigid as ice.
"Thayel?" He smiled slightly.
"Legolas... Mi van me?" I attempted to speak slowly. Still, my throat appears suffocating me every time I tried to spoke a word.
Legolas could not speak anything but sealed his mouth with his hand, every tear spilled from his eyes suddenly ended as he chose to stare at the dark of the Mirkwood's azure with no stars.
"Odulen an edraith angin. You had to return to the palace, Thayel." He slowly folded his face, glancing at my face.
"Û! Legolas. An ngell nîn, I had to see my family." I said weakly to Legolas, begged him to bring me to my family.
"Ada ordered me to bring you to the palace, save and alive."
"Legolas..." I ascend until our face was close.
I can feel the breath of Legolas growing lust alike a very powerful wind in a winter season, I settled my hand and tenderly I wiped his watery cheeks. At a moment, Legolas's eyes were blue like a sea but dark as the darkness of the Mirkwood is very similar to his Ada, Thranduil. I attempted to calm him down as he looked like Gelamel at night, full of fear and I acknowledged all he needed was an affection.
"Have you ever miss your Naneth? Have you ever wish to meet your Naneth and hug her tightly even if it just for a second?" I deeply stared at his slanted eyes.
"I reminisce it every day and night beyond everything."
"You are same as me, Legolas. I had to meet my family, they are needed me more than Thranduil. My father is suffering and I'm not assured my sister could take care of my father. Please, Legolas." My tears were flows like a water from a dam. I feel the muscles of my chin tremble as I placed my head on Legolas's shoulders like a frightened small elfling.
Legolas
In a silent and deep forest, I could only hear the crying sound of Thayel echoing throughout the forest. On the other hand, I do not want to let go of Thayel, but a part of me does not want to see Thayel tormented by longing for his family. I feel much hesitant and helpless as I can feel my chest painful and congested.
I took a deep breath...
"I will bring you to your family, Thayel."
She lifted her head and stared at me closely with her eyes full of tears as she stopped crying, she appeared not to believe what I said. With a sob, she rises as she sits nearly, in front of me.
I quickly jump off the horse as I looked at Thayel, she remains frightened while her mouth shaking afraid, "Hanon llé, Legolas" I answered with a slight smile.
I whispered to my horse, "Noro lim, Arod, Noro lim!"
Arod quickly leaves with Thayel weakly resting on Arod. She should have arrived at her beloved family before the sun starts to rise and before Ada awake.
.
I entered the palace as I passing the guards and examined their face, they look sad and grief as they bowed. I knew something wrong happened, something terribly wrong. as I keep my pace very quickly to Ada's chamber.
"Prince Legolas," All of the servants and guards bowed, they were surrounding Ada's chamber. There lies Ada with his unsettled face, he doesn't seem peace nor full of pain. I walked towards Elhorn, my kin.
"We have tried our best to cure the Elvenking, Legolas. But the King cannot open his eyes as he continues to be unconscious."
"How long will he be unconscious, Elhorn?"
"I can not foretell when the king will wake up. There is something unusual of The Elvenking. He barely breathes, his heart barely beats, as there's a large possibility of The Elvenking will awake for a long time ."
I fell down beside his mattress, as I can feel all-sky is falling down and crushed every single part of my body.
The Elvenking of Mirkwood will remain sleeping forever.
